Great video Katia! Your collection is absolutely beautiful. I’m using a very similar soil-less mix for my anthuriums. Tree fern, orchid bark in 2 sizes, coarse pumice, coco husk chips, horticultural charcoal, worm castings. Then Liqui-dirt, Superthrive to supplement my fertilizer routine. But after testing so many potting media combinations, I’m thinking of using less coco husk chips for sensitive plants because as it breaks down I noticed it starts causing edema which triggers the dreaded yellowing and crisping at the edges of the leaves. You’re right, more bark, less coco at least in my plant room micro-climate. I’m located in the Sonoran desert in southern Arizona with very low, sometimes 7% humidity. So I use a humidifier in my plant room and keep it between 40-60%. Seriously thinking of investing in a grow tent though. Love your videos girl, great job as always!

I've been growing mine in sphagnum moss mixed with growstone with excellent results. Roots seem to grow faster when the have less resistance in the mix I found. So the denser the mix the more force needed by the roots to grow.
Roots truly go bonkers in moss :D As much as I love it short term (mainly for rehabbing), using it for long term is no go for me. Spagh (at least for me) lost it's initially fluffiness, it gets compact and hydrophobic and it's fast to break down as well. That can contribute to aerobic conditions and more acidic media as it is. But if it works for you I'm happy to hear your ways :D
Great video! Seems like your anthuriums really love this mix! But what about watering? Do you bottom water them? How often do you water them (given your specific conditions..) I keep mine in leca for like a year or so..and I can’t camplain :) Thank you!! Take care x
I water them when the mix gets dry (5-7 days since humidity is high). Now that I'm away from home more it can vary slightly more. I put them in the shower and let water run trough the mix!. Since most have roots at the top of the pot, I've found just bottom watering doesn't soak the top part of the soil enough sadly.

Hi for seedlings when they initially get transfered to their own slightly bigger pots I kinda only use big start (to help em develop roots) or very dilluted liquid fertilizer. Later on (when I remember) I add 2-3 balls of osmicote :) Mealworm is in the mix as a base. For how often it depends, probably every 2-3 waterings. Hope this helps!
Awesome video! Do you keep ALL your anthuriums at 90% humidity? Is there any chance I can grow anthurium as beautiful as yours at 50/60% humidity? Right now I have one medium sized clarinervium and one crystallinum seedling (3 leaves) but I really would love to take others 🤩 Soil mix similar to yours: bark, perlite, expanded clay (is that even the right name? Lol), a little bit of regular soil to retain some more moisture.
Yes ATM I have all in high humidity, have yet to try and acclimatize some to room humidity. Once you start with Anthuriums... there is no turning back. Your soil media sounds good! Everyone should adjust it to their needs and conditions :)
What do you do when the roots fill out the pots as I find my Antherium fill the pots so much and need to be potted to the next size pot regularly or the leaves become small. Thank you
Depends I don't really pot up my Anthuriums straight away. They like to be root bound to certain degree. I've found if you repot them often into bigger pots they will focus on filling that pot with roots instead of growing foliage. I have a few bigger plants in smaller (for their size) pots and they are still pushing out beautiful and big foliage. But if the plants is not gaining leaf size (which it generally should if it's happy), then you might wanna repot (:
Ehh I personally wouldn't. It tends to compact much more, can be higroscopic (holds water really irregulary aka wet and dry spots). To some degree I guess you could swap it.
Yes ik. Turns out iPhone default settings are set to save in HVEC format which is unplayable on windows 🙃 I had to use some third party app to convert to h.264 and that has cost me light, contrast and other problems. But after 3h of trying to fix the problem I gave up and accepted my fate for the 2 videos that I’ve filmed in those settings. Afterwards it should be better 🥺

Do you think general insect frass would work just as good? Thinking of getting black fly frass
I think it'd work just fine (: The principle is similar to my knowledge and I heard it being used as fertilizer as well.

I get them from hardware store (Merkur). They are meant for orchid growing.
