I used to think he was so fine back in the day and he kind of reminded me of one of my Virgo exes. Devante's Venus, Pluto and South Node are in Virgo. Then he ended up looking all cracked out after his heyday. I remember seeing a video of him in a restaurant acting all crazy.

I worked with Suge for awhile and was with him every day. I could definitely see how Suges influence could be a factor in Devante’s personality. also I met Devante thru a mutual Friend a female rapper name Bang Bang. Devante is a super genius. The brother doesn’t have a cell phone or an email. He’s built different.

A lot of the violence came from Jodeci being around Suge and Deathrow. Suge started managing Jodeci so Devante witnessed a lot of that and began to use the tactics on his artists. It’s also believed Suge was behind the home invasion in which Devante was robbed of jewelry and music equipment and pistol whipped.

DeVante was hella fine back in tha day. But them looks is long gone. But I've heard that attitude of his was something serious. I believe Suge had some influenced on him but it was some people saying it was that home invasion was the start of him acting real different turning him into tazz mania devil. Definitely very talented, a genius but DeVante is a troubled soul. I hope he found peace.

Truly a sad story. If he just had kicked back and been a chill guy, who knows how many albums jodeci would have put out. But that negative energy got to him and led him through a very dark path and messed his life up. so so sad. I think the drug use and alcohol was probably the start of the decline. That mess ain't for everybody. I always say, if you never try it, you don't know what ur missing. Got around some negative industry cats and couldn't be a leader.

Dalvin explained in an interview that DeVante wrote that song when he was a teenager back in North Carolina, but the opening line was not "so your having my baby". Al B. Sure changed that opening line for Kim Porter when she was pregnant with Quincy.

Nah. Al B, was brought in to help refine the song from a production standpoint during the album creation process, and as a result Al B. did contribute to some lyric changes, one being the famous "so your having my baby" line, which was inspired by Kim being pregnant at the time. But the song was initially writen before Jodeci was signed to Uptown. Some remnants of the original lyrics can be heard on the forever my lady remix and in thier early (pre 1991) live performances of the song.

It used to be on your birth certificate depending on when you were born. If you were born in the Eisenhower era like me not only did it have your hour of birth but your parents race and what their occupation was.

Nope, Al b was brought in by the lable to help co-produce on Forever My Lady, but the original version of the song was already writen and demoed out before Jodeci was even signed. As a co-producer on the final record, Al B did contribute to 'some' lyrical changes, ("so you're having my baby") but didn't write the song initially, that was all Devante.
