Thor's adjustment after round 1 was pretty amazing. He showed incredible discipline to stick to a game plan, stay out of range, and control the distance. Thor wasn't loading up on any shots either. He was going about 60% which is why he never looked tired.

Eddies whole team was a joke. I’m sorry but the fact that people on the internet were critiquing his technique for months, and not his own coach and team shows how little they cared. Joe Rogan even criticised Eddie, and he shrugged it off saying its only his opinion. Paddy had no idea about boxing, his sparring parter Josh was a kid, and his coach was scared to tell Eddie he was wrong. His whole team were delusional. His ego was insane, thinking that he knew more about boxing than Thors Coach, even admitting that technique is nothing.
Absolutely. Shame as if Eddie would have been trained properly like Thor it would have been an interesting fight.

The jab is what you learn day 1 in boxing, and for Eddie to say it’s useless, was laughable. He claims Thor surrounds himself with yes-men is also laughable. Patty and Josh were both useless to that camp. They offered nothing to his training. A boxer doesn’t need to be out there doing 450 pound box squats. @@alexbradley5525 Eddie was far too slow, gassed early and Thor utilized his height to his advantage. Thor could have been more active but basically carried Eddie until the final bell. Embarrassing for Eddie considering all the shit he talked and when it came fight night, he didn’t walk the talk.

Let me educate you real quick buddy: Boxing isn't about time, punches or score... It's about the FLOW STATE.... in which you become a separate being from your body.... Your mind takes control of everything.... And every PRO BOXER i know could see that Eddie was very close to that FLOW STATE... but it was CONSTANTLY blocked by the incompetent referee...
And before anybody wants to get smart with me, i'm not even a boxer. Infact, the only sport i have competed in is archery tag and I actually led my high school team to win the 2007 championship. Cuts happen from hitting on areas that already have an edge, so your own body is assisting in the cutting. That's why usually the places you get cut are tight areas over "sharp" bone like the eyebrows, bridge of the nose and cheek bone. Scar tissue building up over time can also stretch the skin and make it weaker in those areas and more susceptible to cuts. Basically when Thor hit Eddie, it stretched the skin and tore it more so that actually cutting it. Also, congrats Thor. Made some good adjustments after the second round and started making Eddie pay for an overly static game plan.
I love Thor here. He looks really satisfied now and, having caught his breath, he's reaping the rewards in terms of feeling good. Love it. He can let go of some of that intensity.

@@JlYlElNlJ People are so quick to say it was a dominating fight but the way I saw it, Eddie had 4 Legitimate knockdowns and Thor had 1 really good Knockdown near the end of the fight the first knockdown it just looked like Eddie tripped over. Thor won on Jabs apart from those Knockdowns, can't really say that was Dominating, winning by Jabs, People just need to not discrete Eddie's performance because it was definitely closer than people think it was.
Although if there was more Rounds Eddie probably would have got knocked out but that's besides the point

@Just a Karen discovered the internet there's a lot more to boxing than having one big punch. The moment Hall got knocked down his ego bubble burst and he wanted a hole to open up. He stopped throwing and was like a rabbit in the headlights. I've seen this many times in boxing and MMA gyms. Bullies or over confident lads who can punch but can't handle anything put on them. I doubt you'll ever see Hall anywhere near a real boxing fight again.

We already know how he would talk about Thor, because he did beat him in 2017. He congratulated him on coming 2nd (and that was legit, no sarcasm). It's easy to talk good about someone when you beat them. It hard to when you lose. So far, Thor hasn't been able to talk well of those that beat him. Eddie congratulated Thor on beating him in the fight.
It's easier to show respect and be humble when you win. The real test is if Eddie will do it now after he lost. When you lose it's easier to get bitter.

I enjoyed the fight. I thought Thor looked far more composed. It was clear he had taken the time to learn the proper fundamentals and had better conditioning. With that being said I would like to see more snap to Thors punches. More combinations and a bit more killer instinct.
There was a few exchanges during the fight where he had that snap, but most of the time he simply didn't need to have it in order to win. That also helps the gas tank to take it a little easier.
Thor looked like a boxer, Eddie like Quasimodo in that akward stances. Maybe he forgot that he has two arms, second one was always down, that means facial defense... props to Thor as he took the fight seriously and with patience.

As for the cuts. It's due to a loss of friction. Vaseline can wear off. Sweat can actually make leather sticky. Then, there's the sheer power. A good punch can literally split open skin, regardless of using a glove or not. Thor definitely can pack a punch haha

What I find is really interesting is how quite he’s been on UA-cam and social media since his defeat. He was certainly talking the talk prior to the fight and to be fair it all added to the spectacle of the event. Much the same as Devon did and they both did their jobs well. Eddie always had a punchers chance as clear hugely strong and powerful however Hathor showed that his training and discipline paid off and having weathered the storm he prevailed

Before I start I wanna say I like both guys, I've followed and admired both Thor and Eddie for years, like since before they were making podium finishes (Thor included) but I'm a Brit so I'm an Eddie fan not going to deny it. Here's the thing, way back, Larry got Eddie in for some tips and training on the log press (there's a video on it) believe it was the first time they met, they were both very amicable towards one and other and clearly Larry got Eddie in based on his experience and knowledge of Strongman. They've gone on to make countless other collabs together, one in Dubai with Black Tom Cruise and others, and also Larry, Eddie and Thor did an eating challenge together. Eddie and Larry have always seemed very amicable together and Eddie's always shown respect and given him props. Now of course we all know Larry and Thor were close since Larry went out to Iceland and trained with Thor, so sure, they're closer, but the way Larry "picked" a side and had a piece of art made together showing Thor holding Eddie's head, that's a low blow and it just sort of said to me "OK Larry's clearly picked a side, he's done it publicly, but also this guy is meant to like and get on with both guys". So yeah, I can see why Eddie called him out on it and confronted him. Should Eddie have done it for the camera? Eddie has always always always gave Larry props for his strength, his UA-cam success and ability to transition into other strength sports, Eddie didn't need to come out and help him with things. Larry was a bitch for publicly picking a side, and with a photo of him with Thor in the background holding Eddie's head!?..... Unless something happened behind the cameras that we don't know about......
Even if you side with one guy doesn’t mean you have to fully cut off the other guy when you’re friends with both. I really like Larry but feel like he was wrong on the way he acted during the whole boxing stuff. Posting a pic of a guy with his head decapitated when you’re friends with both guys is not a good look. I would have been mad if I was Eddie too.

I thought that too, but was risky to get in that close with Eddie's big swing.
Eddie looked dreadful but he is powerful.
I originally thought that Eddie was taking this super seriously and would come in 100% prepared. After seeing the fight it was obvious that Thor had learned some boxing skills and Eddie displayed zero boxing skills, that really surprised me. Both guys are obviously big and strong so at the end of the day it's going to come down to the one with the skills that's going to win. Congratulations Thor.
Would love to eventually see Thor vs fury.. of course with a lot more preparation. Thor has a great stance, super intimidating form, if he dialed in on speed and accuracy and bobbing a bit more into his contests. He'd be a forreal major threat in professional heavyweight boxing

Yes, knowing what it feels like to be punched in the face seriously help. Look at the expression of shock on Eddie’s face when he got downed the first time and the way his fighting style changed after that tells that he never got hit once by a real opponent. He totally lost control of the situation the moment he got downed once.
It happened to Thor during his first exhibition match and it happened to every boxer who stepped in the ring. You need to experience the real deal to know how to overcome it.

Thor is a better man than I am. If it were me I wouldn't give Eddie a rematch. I'd let him hold onto that L for the rest of his days 😂
It would be too expensive for Eddie to have a rematch. It will cost him a tattoo of Thor on his a** and $200,000. Apart from that, he'd lose again anyway, and more convincingly than the first time. Eddie can't box and never will. You only have rematches when fights are close or the results are in doubt, but maybe Thor will like the opportunity to really shut him up.

In answer to "how do you make the opponents bleed" from boxing, and speaking as someone with 13 years of boxing experience: It's all in the "twist". Right at the millisecond of connection with your fist, you "twist" it, to channel that extra little force in the blow, and also to twist the skin on the opponent, making it rupture.
I was pulling for Eddie all the way, I loved how he confronted you Larry, but fair is fair and I love the banter and holding people accountable! Keep it up and let’s see more boxing from Thor! Btw Great fight all around!
