It's disappointing that Eddie brought his son to the press conference and put him closer to Thor than Eddie himself was. He escalated the situation and that's needlessly dangerous for the son. Not to mention that saying the things he's saying with his kid next to him isn't really a great example to set.

I have Irish parents they say the swearword more than they say any other word but they love me very much. I’m guessing you don’t live in England or Ireland? Eddie he brought his child thinking everything was going to be civil and maybe the child wanted to be on camera, but stuff got out of control. I have four young children I do not swear around them but I’m just saying living in a different countries in certain areas it’s a normal thing. Eddie and his wife are great parents if you ask me.

Putting him next to the announcer isn't really an issue (since this whole part is effectively staged). Just the general wrong sort of attention and role modelling is my issue with involving his kid like this. Pretty much the ideal circumstances to put him on track to being a bully.

Thor's mom started screaming at Eddie when Eddie was talking to Thor, and Eddie only asked Thor to keep his mom quiet. This was supposed to be a professional conference, and in the end Thor is the one who lost it. Thor's the one that wanted to use Eddie's child as the "vicitim" in all of this, yet was the guy who couldn't keep his cool.
I hope Eddie watches back these episodes to see what a douch he is being, especially in front of his son.
I know you have to hype up fights, but its embarrassing watching Eddie act like such a child.

I have lost respect for Eddie after this. Bringing his kid to the table, swearing in front of Max and risking harm to that child by threatening to fight another man with the kid in between. I’m a father myself and would never allow this situation for my kids. Eddie declaring that Thor is a pussy for backing off - Thor did the right thing to back off as he couldve easily jeopardised that child and consequently gotten himself arrested etc. The lengths Eddie is prepared to go to are ridiculous and this bad behaviour will only overshadow his prior strength achievements.

I would never in a million years take my young son and seat him in between me and someone I knew I had bad blood with, particularly if I had been goading into fighting me since arriving in town. Remember in the previous interview he mentioned telling Thor to step outside and settle it in the streets. I don't care if it's good for promotion. I don't care if it's good for the hype. I would tell whoever said to put my son in the middle of this shit-show to shove it, and always figured Eddie would be more like that. Poor form no matter how you slice it. Clearly people are more sick of Eddie's ongoing nonsense and childish behavior than they are upset by Thor's conduct from 2017, me included.
To make my position clear, I was originally on the side of Eddie for the WSM situation. Still am, honestly. The events were there, changed or not...if you're the better strongman then WIN with the events given to you. Thor didn't win. In fact it was probably my favorite WSM of all time because the events were so static....there's no question who was STRONGEST there.
What has happened since then has steadily made me dislike Eddie more and more.
I have been an avid fan of strongman for decades and one of the best things about the sport is the camaraderie between athletes. It's unlike anything you see or experience in any other sport. This has gone on for too long and has gone too far and is completely opposite from what I love about the sport these two were once titans of. A real shame.

to an extent I understand thors feelings. switching out a carry and drag for a static event at the last minute is a bit suspicious especially when i believe collin and eddie are business partners. after training so hard most athletes get a bit emotional over specific rules and such/wanting second attempts.

I miss the old non bitter Beast, that is determined, hungry for a big win but at the same time a guy that is enjoyable to see. I was on his side for a log time, but this is just way to far off. He is a rolemodel not only for his kids, but also for young strength athletes - and this is no rolemodel that you want to follow. It‘s heartbreaking to see this kind of descent… I hope will get the old Eddie back for the Strongman UK Team end of this year no matter who will win on saturday - the only true victory would be to bury this feude once and for all.

I was very much on Eddie's side after worlds, but these days the more I see of him the less respect I have for him and having his son sat there for that was just cringe inducing. Eddie behaved disgracefully during this press conference, I initially thought he had a point about 2017 but while Thor made a mistake and has been nothing but a gentleman *since* Eddie has remained unportsmanlike stewing in his own pointless anger and that is why he does not *deserve* an apology. Thor might have lost his cool at the end but who wouldn't? Eddie did everything he could to provoke Thor and finally succeeded when he attacked Thor's family (and it's not the first time), it was Eddie who made his own son cry - not Thor. In fact Thor showed so much concern for Eddie's son throughout the press conference while Eddie sat a disgusting example and I genuinely feel bad for his wife and son.
I've also said since day 1 when I still liked Eddie that he seems like a schoolyard bully (the signs are everywhere if you care to look) who's never been challenged because he was bigger and stronger than everyone else, seeing him bring up this point against Thor is nothing short of hilarious projection.
How did he attack Thor's family though? I thought so too at first. Unless telling his mum - who has been rude for most of the conference - to quiet down is a crime.

Everyone gets a reality check when they finally step in the ring and see that those 10 sparing rounds contribute to about 3 solid rounds in the actual match. There is a reason why someone like Mayweather did 13 -14 rounds with 3 different individuals in a single sparing session. It's because that's the only way your going to mimic the pressure that's put on you in the actual match. Eddi has no clue how ridiculous he sounds in these interviews.

God I love Tel and Loz. Met them both at the Arnold exhibition last year and both were complete gentlemen. Eddie, interestingly was flanked by security, stormed through the crowds ignoring everyone and vanished, to then pose for some pics with handpicked fans. Literally passed me inches away and blanked me when I called out. Loz shook my hand, chatted for a minute, had a selfie. Same as Tel.
