You're not wrong! They do hate it don't they! I even pressed 1 of them to say they're stopping me doing a legal activity, to see if I'm doing something wrong as opposed to knowing I committed an offence. I wasn't happy.

    • @MartinSanders-ut9qq
      @MartinSanders-ut9qq 4 дні тому +2

I don't think they are bothered by the public having access to state of the art tech and cameras. In all fairness, they admitted from the outset that they are not up to date with drone laws, and that they were acting on instruction their Sgt. Therefore, the issue isn't with them, the issue is with the lack of training on drone laws and their Sgt sending them out to do a stop and account with a drone pilot without the proper knowledge of drone laws.
They acted quite reasonable given they could have just assumed he was breaking the law and arrested him, as has been done to other drone fliers.

    It may seem minor but….
There’s a huge risk whenever you hand anything to a cop. They like to keep holding onto the item as a way to extend the conversation.
Like the way a cop has your license and traffic citation all written and ready to give to you but instead decides to hold it just so you hav3 to stay and listen to the cop scold you like a child.
Plus, if you get frustrated that it isn’t returned, cops say that you were aggressive and may even try to fabricate charges and arrest you.
*Im referring to you handing over your phone to show her something.
I never hand any cop any of my property. If they are going to take it, well not much can be done to stop them, but I’d never voluntarily hand a cop anything.

Some police don't realise that there are different drone categories and sub catergories based on weight.
(Open category - A1, A2, A3). The actual offence would be flying a drone that weighs more than 250g without having the A2CofC qualification. For now, drones between 250g and 500g can be flown 'close to people' and in built up areas with A2CofC (but not intentionally above people) and drones that are between 500g and 2kg (A2) can be be flown with A2CofC but must be min 50 metres away from people, and drones between 2kg and max 25kg (A3) must be flown away from people and min 150 metres from buildings or recreational areas (basically in the wilderness somewhere).

Check it out if you haven't already. Titled UNBELIEVABLE! The return of 2 baldy coppas and Sgt Blagger, or something along those lines haha. Thanks again for watching. LCR

Quote "We don't know the law, that is what we're checking on", however one law that is being broken is the two PC's distracting a drone pilot whilst flying, that is 100% a criminal activity, where's the policing of the actual law breaking? Also the correct statement of trying to find something is being done wrong as opposed to kowing what actually is being done wrong.

As always happy to do anything but real police work like visiting people whose homes have been burgled or assault victims or scam victims or even keeping an eye on known child molesters, sex pests, suspected drug dealers and organised crime figures. None of that is as important as bothering people with cameras in public, and all this after being told by their superiors that recording is not a justification for questioning anyone.

These two weren't that bad in my opinion. I've seen a lot worse. Unfortunately the new normal in Britain is that we have to lower our expectations when it comes to the police (not saying we should have to, just saying that's how it is) as most of them won't have that much experience, and won't know the specifics of the law. It also seems that the ability to have a conversation like a human being has geen completely lost in the police force. These two did overstep the mark by telling you to land it, that was unlawful. You hit the nail on the head with the comments about them looking for something to get you with- she had no answer to that. Overall, a B was too kind given that they did act unlawfully and prevented you from having the unhindered enjoyment of your property in a lawful manner, but as coppers go these days, not too bad.

Two officers are now knowingly interfering with a drone pilot which is a breech of CAA air legislation. This is a criminal offence.
If you don’t know the legislation then find out first. Sounds like common sense but this is not a requirement for DEI hires. Ignorance of the law is no excuse and applies to uniformed buffoons as well.
The UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) takes drone safety seriously. Interrupting an operator could be considered reckless endangerment, punishable by fines or even imprisonment.
Yes, it is illegal to intentionally distract a drone pilot during UAV mappings close-by in the UK. Offenders can face fines of up to £2,500. Ensuring safe and undistracted drone operation is crucial for safety and compliance with regulations.26 May 2024

Basically an operator ID is a must in most cases. I use the DJI mini 4K, probably the best entry level drone you can buy. Can only get them on Amazon at the minute. It's effectively a 4k version of the Dji mini 2 se, with 4k video. Very well made drones, tried and tested design.
