Actually changing your behavior is big. A lot of people struggle with the idea of realizing that their intuition could be straight up wrong due to lack of knowledge. Banger video.
i disagree with the gap method, it creates the same problem as a cinephile/nerd trying to become a director, everything is a culmination of existing styles and ideas, of course that is what human are all about learning and applying what you know. But sometimes not having any inspiration in terms of artists or previous works naturally lends itself to creating something actually new and stylistic, and the more you hone that you might create something new, stylistic AND appealing to the eye or to an audience. If you limit yourself to learning from other artists *only* you have a high chance of being only as good as them, losing uniqueness and personal style.
Getting feedbacks is really hard for me :/ I have a group of artists, and when I ask for a feedback they would say "I don't know, I just do it" how do I get a better feedbacks??? 😭😭
