Fascinating to see this, 15 years later in 2024 and appreciate the skills and planning deployed at the time. Nostalgic to see nine-car Pendolino units before the lengthening. Great film. We regularly use the Alderley bypass - definitely a great capacity improvement for the A34.
This is one of the best time-lapse video I’ve seen on UA-cam. Beautifully framed panoramic shots, the long night-time sequences were phantasmagoric, a mix of Fellini and Bruegel. Each scene composed with a painter’s eye for light and shadow. It’s a visual feast, my eyes were magnetically drawn to all and sundry lest I miss something. Special treat - have a look at the shower of sparks from welders torches around the 4:00 or 5:00 minute mark. Also gratifying to see the bridge in use at the end - a rare treat from the video folks who made this for the construction company - their videos tend to end a little too abruptly and prematurely. But definitely in a class of their own. Good job guys.
To the prime contractor on this old job. Congratulations on a successful job, lot of prep work on this job. I'm retired now as a locomotive engineer but remember getting called out on a work train less than 6 hours before the main reopened from an 1892 bridge replacement project non electrified line. I got called out because the 600 cfm air compressor threw a rod through the engine block and I got sent there with 47 Divco air dump cars full of new ballast and upon arriving on site they had two 3/4 inch air lines laid out ready to hook up to the locomotive main resivour line connection. It was quiet when I arrived there though less than a minute after the air lines were hooked up no less than 15 compressed air powered compactors started up. The two 3/4 inch line fed a 800 gallon air tank. Just sat there for 5 hours in the 4th notch pumping air. I was told nearest 600 air compressor was 1800 miles away. Interesting night. Request, next time you do a job like this kindly think about using two cameras, one shooting real time and the other like this one was probably setup to shoot one frame a second. Thanks for posting the job, I enjoyed it. Cheers!
Incredible job...editing out all those tea breaks. Just kidding. It's fascinating to see something taken for granted and the amount of work behind it. It looks like a logistical nightmare.
Christmas day 2017 3 pm. Viewing at 0.5 speed, listening to Planet Rock. It's a bugger sight better entertainment than watching last-year's repeats on the telly.
seems to be a lot of work for such a low clearance bridge. what goes under it? does it cross a road? i can think of many ways to get a bridge built with less people, less machinery and less takeover time. it would require more pre-takeover work that does not disturb train traffic.
These have got it in one sock; the know what they are doing; Two question: how long did it take to do this job working 24/7? how long would it took it they had only worked one shift (normal work day). Thanks for a very outstanding video
LOL... [less than four minutes into the video] ... seems like an awful lot of 'supervisors' standing around with their thumbs up their backsides watching everyone else work... :|
Rain wind an snow, they had to carry on to complete the work. Awesome job in treacherous conditions. Well done lads!

Fantastic video! Thanks
fascinating to see these vids, also amazing to see how quickly it can be done.
Yes bro
Bloody el that's quick work!
Whenever it is properly devised and planned plus a good construction team things usually go ahead without too much bother
Cool video nice bit of work.
an amazing accomplishment in 3 days
What is the weight of the bridge and its approximate cost? Is it all steel box girders? Girders supplied by Fairfield Mabey Chepstow perhaps?
How many days to complete the process/ bridge work? Enjoyed vid, thanks for posting.
3 days and nights
"new by-pass"... Was Arthur Dent's house nearby?
I'm sure I saw someone waving a towel! 🤣

Great viewing. Job well done on behalf of Network Rail.

I was thinking the same thing! If they didn't want to build the hight any higher, they could have at least dug the road or path under it deeper!
They finished the bridge and then afterwards they put a road under it.

4 days to complete from building the bridge deck to replacing the old line
I believe that's why it said 102 hours which was the window allowed by the railroad.
сколько по времени интересно реально занял процесс строительства?
4 дня, чтобы закончить от строительства палубы моста до замены старой линии
Making a video of my car and I’m going to use the music as a sound track? Anyone at Stobart have any objections?
Impressive 👍👍
awesome
thats at the bottom of my lane in nether alderley
Wow that's how they make a rail bridge? I did not know that
17 hours and mins! Is that total time? Incredible!
No!Three nights and days!!
What is this song called in this?
I love watching these types of timelapse.. btw what song is this in the video ?
stobarts own tune
Not really they took part of the Riff from Kashmir from Let Zeppelin
Hearts on Fire by Jetty Road according to google
53.285211, -2.249626?
That's it.
The music is way over the top
And shame about the tatty old line side trunking
Com entry would be good.
What for?
Interesting videos but the music - yuk! Watched this like all the others in Mute
This is not the American way-it is done too fast. When done like this American people do not make enough money.
Always a load of blokes standing about watching on these rail engineering videos no wonder the fares are extortionate.
yep ... they are students and bosses and overseers .... so pay up or get off

Believe me there isn't one person on those sites who doesnt have a job to do
工期が長い❗️設計が甘い。
