I have two of those Mofo-X 12's... They sound pretty good, I only give mine 450w RMS each though.
you mean the amp you have, because they can probably take about 1200 plus
They can handle a lot for the price I'm definitely pushing more than that and I haven't smelled anything

The skar sdr 15 is 1 of the best subs u can buy to use for home theater system thats how i use somw of my subs at my house i just need to get a good deal on a tiny fullbridge like a sfb 600 or any full bridge
that's a great amp for how small and the cost is not bad either, does crazy power for how small it is too.
I hooked up a budd of mines syrem for him he was buying a taramp smart 3k from me i hooked it all up and those mofo in a huge box tuned Round 36 to 38htz sounded great i thought and they handled about 1200 watts a piece
at 1,200 it started smelling right away, I think if you gave it 1,000 here and there it would be okay.
Most of skar audio equipment is under rated 💪💪🔊🔊
Mind you it may have been a burp, or just a fast second, but I have the iX 10 taking almost 1,500 watt's live on the dyno. I think you're right.
I've sent 15k to a skar evl 12 on a burp my old amp was a huge Korean half bridge monster
@@joshholden8561 I think the Skars can take much more than they say, they're very conservative with power ratings.
Hands down I would take a mofo over and SDR any day! I know you could have put more power to the mofos! I Ran 4 of them and was clip city all day with them and never blew. The SDR quality just isn't there for me. Skars upper price stuff like ZVX and vxf and Evl is nice.
I don't know if you heard me and back off on the mofo. It started to smell as soon as I turned it up. It was going for a few seconds on that higher volume and instantly started smelling. My wife was complaining about the smell for a good half hour afterwards. I honestly think if I had it taking more than 1,200 watt's any longer I would have either hurt the sub or blown a coil in it. Quality wise everything should go to the mofo, yes, i am with you. But a test does not lie, real power does not lie. The moment I turned it up I and it hit higher numbers it started to smell, the SDR was cool calm and collected. I myself thought the mofo would out do the SDR, that was the whole reason I did the test against each other. I make other video's besides these also, for Instagram and TikTok, just 1 minute shorts, I could not make an honest video on the mofo because I thought it was going to get hurt. I will do another test on it just for you, I'll do a 1 minute short, I'm going to set it up to do the same power for the minute and see what happens.

@@SubzPawz looked like a sealed box and not sure how you could smell the coil if it was a sealed box.. anyways I'm still would take a mofo over and sdr any day of the week.
the ported box needs to be 4 cubes for the mofo 15
@@johnnyditommaso6807 I have 2 different enclosures for the 15's, one just slightly smaller and one just about that size. Like I said I'm going to try it in the other enclosure just for you, all the while live but I do not think it's going to make that much of a difference and I don't think we're going to get different results. I may eat my words and if I do I'll admit it but we'll see what happens. I just had my second grandson born l2 nights now, he's a day and a half old, so it may not be until the weekend, but I have everything all set and we'll see what happens.
I hate when company's list max because it means nothing and max numbers are just made up same as max rating on amps.
Yeah, it said 3,000 watt's max, at 1,200 it started smelling coil in my house. My wife was complaining about it for an hour after and it was not even bad and I stopped it right away.
@@SubzPawz some coils can make that smell if they are new subs also
@@joshholden8561 it's not new, I had this sub for awhile now, played it in my van for sometime. I know the Gothics smelled, but I had three at one time and they were all breaking in at the same time. I'm going to try it in another enclosure and see what happens then.

SDR do work, be careful of long term power 🔋 💪 Go with RMS. I smoked a SDR 18 on 5-600 watts 50% volume, my bad 👎 just a tip. Not Skars fault, I own it 🤷😊
Just a demo. Only for demo purposes. When I power something myself I actually under power in a safe zone.

@@z1berzerker I had 2 SDR 12's in separate enclosures at one time running and they started smelling really hot, not long after I had them going. They were on about RMS power maybe a little more and I'm glad I smelled them in time and backed off. They almost went. I know exactly what you mean. It did not take long either. Thank you.

I've tested the Skar Audio EVL-12 twice now. It's actually my 4th giveaway Subwoofer now. The SDR is a great subwoofer. 600 RMS is vastly underrated. It's more like 1,200 RMS not max. I think that's why people have so many problems with them. I did a test with an SDR, gave it RMS for about 10 seconds and the voice coil got very hot, I have it over 2,000 watt's and it could have done that all day long. People are under powering them. I'm not sure why Skar rated them like that. The Mofo also did just as expected and ran phenomenal. Thanks for your comment and support 🙂

Yeah. I first tested it in a fairly small box. I ended up testing it in a box double that size at just over 4 CF. That's where she shined the best. Thanks for your comment 😊
I have the sdr15d2 in a birtch box tuned to 34hz on a sundown sae.v3 1000d wired to 1ohm I can definitely say it doesn't like 1k for more than 1min without sounding like a game of ping-pong 😂
So the voice coil must be getting very hot. Very fast. I believe it stayed fairly close to 1 ohm too. So you should be getting close to your full load at times. Thanks for sharing and thank you for your comment 😊
