Ah, I love watching a good dozer man work. I grew up on and around dozers, scrapers, backhoes and skidsteers, used to ride with dad when I was small enough to half lay on the armrest of his D6D Cat and sleep while we ran back and forth all day. That darn dozer would rock me asleep in 20 minutes. Bought my first dozer in 1997 and been doing custom work myself ever since. Now I farm and run livestock more than I run the equipment but it's a nice skill set to have at your beck and call around a ranch.
You all probably dont give a damn but does someone know of a way to log back into an Instagram account..? I was stupid lost my login password. I appreciate any help you can give me.
@Brodie Harley I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and im trying it out atm. Takes a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
@Brodie Harley HOLY **** IT ACTUALLY WORKED :O I literally got access to my ig password after roughly 40 mins by using the site. I had to pay 15 $ but for sure worth it :O Thank you so much, you saved my ass :D
These pond videos are so helpful for me. I bought a property with a pond; the more I learn from you guys, the more I know that my pond was poorly designed. Will be planning out how to modify my pond to be more like yours. Thanks!
Thanks for showing us the steps to getting this water source installed on the farm. Great videos. Great Bulldozer driver. Heavy machinery earthworks craftsmen are incredible and invaluable. I can sense the respect and deep appreciation you have for Jonny. So happy to see all the great personal connection. Thanks a million Greg! Sure Grateful for you!🙏😊
A beautiful sunny Friday and I am looking forward to watching this dam being built. I must have been an engineer in another lifetime. This is fascinating.
This video is worth more than gold, and that's a hard days work that you can be proud of for the rest of your life, knowing you'd make water for wildlife and stock for generations.
Incredible!!! God blessings to Ben and Isaac ( it’s great to be young) thanks to the teacher for giving simple and GREAT instructions. God’s blessings to all @ the Judy Farm
Not pounding the rods in enough is actually a blessing for us all because we all now know the reason to get it down far enough. We will all do it right when our time comes.
Hey Mr.Judy Looks exactly as you described. It's understood that if one has never experienced ground work that there appears to be big gaps in info. My advice. Next time one drives by a construction site that is just starting. Stop and make a mental note. Then stop by every day and watch the change. Read some books on civil engineering. That should help. When Mr.Judy instructs Isaac and Ben on the glueing process. All of that is critical to success. However I know almost nothing about a farm. Most.of what I have learned is from watching Mr.Judy and a few others like him. This may not have the scenic allure of the other videos. Yet this is extremely important.
Crikey, right in the middle of this exciting process, my husband wanted to order food from the supermarket. Really? Good lord. Back now to see the finish! A beautiful job. 🙏❤️
I don't blame the boys for looking over their shoulders when that dozer was coming. They did a nice job. Could you notch the cap so it would go around the rods and fit completely on??
Greg, Thanks for the video, Its great to see your dam building process after reading your books. If you like these videos folks - you will love Greg's books, they are spewing with that exuberant optimism. One thing I would like to *humbly* mention to keep in mind with the soil compaction. It looks to be pretty dry clay, if you were building a steeper dam, had a taller embankment or made more disturbance of the native soil it would help to add a bit of water to each lift that the dozer pushes up and maybe even get a sheep's foot compactor. Soak it just enough to make the clay want to ball up and have a bit of a sheen on the tracked surface. With a more optimum moisture content you would achieve higher compaction and have a more secure embankment. But in this case it appears to be good compaction around the valve judging by the lack of disturbance to the native soil on the embankment and how many hammer blows the fiberglass rods took!
I so appreciate your Teaching style - you encourage them when it's right ( never heard so many perfects in other videos) and you are patient teacher. I have 5 kids who can't get enough of learning everything and the secret is work with them and encourage Them - I expect a lot, and they give it to me and I don't let their work go unappreciated because they are integral parts and contribute hugely to the family and they know it!!
GREG this first part dont have any bearing on the video, when will your new book be out? just ordered your fist book and i am looking to order the next 2!!! the way JOHNNY runs that CAT HEs like a surgeon! aint seen any one that GOOD in years!! GREAT VIDEO!!!!!
Mr. Judy, my son and I built a livestock watering pond. We put a 2" waterline through the dam and ran it to 2 waters. The waterers provide 3 paddocks, the pond has a ramp in it to provide 2 paddocks. My question is you didn't need a anti-seep collar on your 2" pipe.
We have tons of ponds with 2" pvc pipe through the dam. No issues with watering large herds. Just need to ensure your tank is 800 gallons and use a 2" brass valve to supply it.
Greg could you get into the financials of this? I know it’s personal business but I’m really undecided on whether or not I can make enough money on my 300 acres or if I need to get a trade as well.
Whane, I've barely just started, and I can't answer that, but I think without more information about your place. No one will be able to help you answer that. You could be getting 15 inches of rain a year or 50. Holistic management is a tough read, but it's been helpful to me, and I recommend picking up a copy. Good luck.
@@bigwhane8603 Congratulations! Just remember a few key things. Avoid debt. Pay cash. Figure out how God designed whatever animal you're working with. Ask yourself "What's the worst thing that could happen if I do xyz?" You're going to kill it out there.

Job done properly! Congrats guys! Greg you are one of the best teachers in this part of regenerative agriculture! Thank you again

my friend Larry said, take a smaller pipe that fits on the inside, cut the two notches on one end to use to turn the valve

Great video but you don’t want the primer to be dry when you apply glue. Prime then glue. Don’t give it time in between
Love it Greg!
Made in USA. I love to see that. We need more of that.

Good Day!
Bad glue great video!
Nice work fellas.
"Trust but verify" haha!
Very good ☺️
Do you guys wear steel toed boots when working with the cattle? or in general? thanks for the awesome video
Very crafty!
WELL - You Can saw those FIBERGLASS RODS - a bit Shorter, if you like 👍
With that handsaw
How much did that pond install end up costing?
any advice on putting a water pipe into an existing pond with out one?
Just notch the lid around the posts the same way you made your mouse holes
Won't the duct tape rot before a steel post would rust?
Does Johnny dig core tenches/keyways before he builds a dam?

No I have never put in an anti-seep collar.
You all have nerves of steel or you trust the driver 100% of that tank above you! 😂🤣
Johnny could flip an egg with that blade.
I can smell the dirt thru the video
I'm just here for the crybaby comments about the proximity of the Dozer. LOL.
Not sure if 2” pipe will be sufficient enough down the road-installing your bell end pipes wrong way would concern me more

'That blade is an extension of his body', all be it a pretty weird one.

You're going to kill it out there.
It's necessary to prevent the water from seeping along the pipe or will the clay seal it sufficiently?
Clay will seal the pipe
That plastic pipe never going to hold up long , probably already cracked from equipment
Got same pipe in the ground for 40 years, hasn’t cracked yet.
Sat thru the toenail Fungus Add 🤔if Only you could grow edible mushrooms 🍄🦶🏼 😋
