Sony coming back to car audio in a big way!
uhm actually this es mobile series is a really mid end car audio... ofc its better than for example pyle 150$ setup but it really has a long way to go to get any good in the higher end way (ignoring the fact that it wont happen again since its not profitable for them to make high end products in higher quantities as they did in the 50s-90s. thats the curse of modern times.)

@@djlolerkoster ik that sony isn’t top shit rn but I would say they are back on a good start even though they they were late the only way they gonna shake the car audio industry is to put alot of money into it but for a mid range system it is great but for me I would go for alpine sense there amps,speakers and subs are great and better

People don’t understand what hi res is till they hear it for themselves, I myself have alpine f1 status and music sounds so clean and detailed.
Alpine ... designing their own speakers this time, as the old version were rebadged Scanspeak drivers ... not that there's anything wrong with that!
I tried to love Alpine gear, I really have, but they always let me wanting. Amps, speakers, subs ... like you say the clarity and detail were great, but when it came to bass, they always left me wanting.

I love my mobile ES speakers. So crisp and accurate yet very pleasant to listen to even at max volume. If I were to do my system again, I’ll definitely go with the 3 way version of the mobile ES component speakers instead of the 2 way version for my front mids and highs.

Do we know at what the crossover frequency is on the Passover crossover to the tweeter? The tweeters seem large, I am hoping more vocals will come out of them as I would be doing a tweeter in dash and woofer in door set up. Do you think this will work nicely?

Does that head unit have that bass canceling feature the old high-end Sony head units used to have??
Can the woofers be feeded directly from the manufacturer stereo? I have a 4x50w stereo, Wich i have recapped with Elna silmic II and bypased the bigger caps with 0.01 wima film caps, the sound (and also the power) has dramaticly improved, my stereo uses a tda 7564 integrated circuit, it shakes heavily after the recap (the Elna silk caps work wonders on low frequencies) let me know.

dam came out pretty nice. I do believe that on my system the pioneer deck I have holds back the quality of my system abit I have a mvh-600bs it does alright had it for about 4 years now

Looks like Sony could be headed in the right direction IF they'll just stay on this path. Unfortunately the supporting customer base just doesn't seem to justify putting a great amount of R&D into this category of car audio gear. Yields less profit margin. Though I like this ES lineup & would love to get this headunit once I get a car that this 10inch display will fit into accordingly. I'll add that I do currently have the Sony DSX-GS80 Hi Power headunit in one of my vehicle's and I love it!! Very nice headunit for anyone looking for a single din display. The 5v rca pre outs are excellent!

Beautiful review and all but next time lower the ISO or shutter speed of your camera so we can get an accurate color production of the screen.
this unit is amazing but I'd love a removable screen but looks loke you need to take the bolts out every time

Sony had some of the lowest thd on CD players in the early 90s and crossovers they made had a night and day difference on my system back then.just didn't like the xplod stuff
my man do you live under the rock? why are you comparing golden audio age to some trash sony car audio from modern times? dont you see that no one is making good products anymore because they are too expensive to make and big companies want just the most money with the lowest cost. to get something with similar quality as these made back in 50-90s youd need at least 50 times bigger budget now than back then
