Very helpful! I just just received the VFD spindle today and finished assembly, set-up and initialization.

You didn't mention what the blinking red LED is for. It would be good to mention that it, and the one right next to it (which is hard to see because the red one is so much brighter), blink when the USB is sending and receiving data and Carbide Motion is constantly "talking" to the controller when it is connected, so the light is blinking all the time even if the machine is not doing anything. People regularly post in the Shapeoko groups asking what is wrong because the red light is blinking and people associate a red light with an issue.

Have a S5, regarding the power pendant, can you use the stop button as a normal on/off button or is it just for an emergency? I have been using the main power switch on the controller but wasn't sure if using the em stop button would degrade it long term or something.

The E-Stop can be used as the main power switch for the machine.

When my router drops down to hit the bitsetter it doesn’t stop. It’ll vibrate and get an error 5

Just assembled 5Pro - during initialization, seems the machine is looking for BitSetter on opposite end of the machine. My bitsetter is positioned on the front of the machine (next to Carbide logo). During initialization, the spindle is moving to the back right of the machine, probing down and not finding the bitsetter. Receiving failed homing notification. Any help?

Richard. You need to set the location of the BitSetter.
      Connect to your machine
      Go to Settings
      Disable BitSetter
      Initialize your machine.
Jog the spindle with a bit to the middle of the bitsetter and less than 1/4” above it.
      Open Settings
      Click Enable BitSetter
      Click “Use Current Position”
You’ve now told the machine where the BitSetter is located. The machine will reinitialize and touch off on the BitSetter

Sorry this sounds like a very informatize video but he was hard to under stand and I think it would have been better if it did not include the shapeoko 4 just the 5pro
