Everybody so quick to talk about Texas Southern trumpet section is lacking but what I heard was Alabama States trumpet section non-existence especially in the cardi B song
For some reason I felt like Bama state got this until that last song. And this wasn't supposed to be close. Something is off for both bands.

Seems like some of ASU sections don’t all be playing at the same time and you can hear the gaps or weaker parts at times

Come on Ocean, pay attention to note lengths. Yall are clipping every note man. Back the volume down and execute phrasing along with solid attacks/releases. It will help the overall sound quality for sure. You have to start at the front of the note

As we close the season out, I truly hope the directors of Bama State take note that you all were a disappointment this year. The sound wasn't there at all this year. You don't have to play every popular song on the radio. Classics and old hits mixed in are the core of what a lot of former Marching Hornets(crab97) and other band members want to here. I also hope that you guys can get a hold on recruitment. Last year was so much better than this year. What happen????
TxSU baritones are overkill.....the band is not properly balanced at all
cojack if you talk about the voicing in their arrangements, then I can see your point, but you hear what you are supposed to hear. It’s not like the melody is nonexistent

Scott nobody wants to hear a baritone and tuba band.....look don’t get me wrong, txsu has a powerful sound, but the trumpets are lacking, and even the trombones are lacking.....I guess txsu arrangements are written for the baritones to carry the weight of the band, melody wise, since the trumpets of the band are to weak to be even heard.....
cojack I feel that. You don’t like the voicing of the band. I guess the Euphos are a gift and curse. They add power to the band, which people like about TxSU however, it can be excessive. I like the fact that they are adapting to their situation and adjusting arrangements
@@p_scott it jus depends on the individuals musical taste southern write for their trumpets and jstate write for the mellos last year and tubas this year its like who do u prefer Teddy pendergrass txsu or isley brothers su...u get my point

If the rest of Texas Southern's band was anywhere near on the same level as their euphoniums, they would be too crucial! Even though they both had some iffy moments, I still prefer Bama State's overall sound. I hear every section but I do miss the big lower brass presence.

Now that they have a decent size you want to try to act like it shouldn't matter. If anybody should be compared to Tuskegee it should bama st with their low energy Arrangements this is the Swac not the Siac

The both took Ls. Texas Southern isn't balanced at all but their baritones are very nice. Bama State is going through a rough year. Hopefully both will improve

TXSU got it no question. Stingettes came to play. The rest of the band did not. ASU sounds horrible. What happened to ASU between last year and this year? Sounds like a completely different band. TXSU was on it. BTONES was eating the whole 5th. If they can get a deeper trumpet section they are going to be deadly.
What happened is they have horrible arrangers, they cant recruit worth shit, and Dr Oliver needs to retire.

is it just me or does it seem like every band that Southern face all of sudden shrink in size.. Alcorn/ txsu... Why txsu look so small and sound horrible lowkey well bama sound like garbage also.. But this is baffling to me cause this is not the same band that faced southern at all.... interesting.
They both sound horrible though... not talking about size at all. I was saying it seem like they all of a sudden look bigger when they go toe to toe with southern and sound different then after they play southern they go back to sounding like shit, and get back small for some odd reason. Its like these dudes beef up in numbers when they go against southern, and then afterwards they are small. I''m not the only person to notice this.
