Rear Liftgate Emblem Blackout Overlay Kit Review for 2021 Toyota Highlander Platinum Trim

- Hi fam, in todays video I will install and review the blackout overlay kit for the rear lift gate sent to me from my friends at CarTrimHome which is similar to other overlay kits you may find on the internet. The process was very easy to cover the chrome as each plastic piece was held on by 3M double sided tape. My only issue was the length of the "L" lettering in the PLATINUM as it was too long so I had to trim it down with a razor in order for it to fit correctly.
Toyota already makes these OEM overlay kits but still have NOT made one for the Platinum trim so this may be an alternative for you if you are looking to "chrome delete" all of your emblems.

It's a matte finish but if I could do it again, I would Hyperdip the emblems like I did on the door sides.
Hi. Did you install overlay black emblem on steering wheel?
@@sasha85ful I did not and don't plan to for safety reasons if the airbag is activated. I don't want any debris to fly at my face. If you're looking to change the emblem color to black, I would recommend Hyperdipping it.
Hey Thanh where did you get the crome piece between the toyota emblem and the plate?
I got it on AliExpress, heres the link but also check Ebay if you can find it cheaper.

How long do you think the adhesive will last?
Time will tell my friend! lol I installed these back on 4/30/23 and they're still holding strong. I'll have the real test when we enter the cold and rainy winter season and report back. If I could do it again, I would definitely go with Hyperdip as it was be a cheaper and cleaner look.

I received it free from a sponsor to review. Since it had an issue with one of the letters, they've taken it off their website to fix it. I'm posting it so others who buy similar products on Ebay or elsewhere know so they can ask the seller to avoid the same issue I had.
