Hey Peter, I am awaiting my scout xt. I haven’t shot a slingshot for over 20 years. What bands do you recommend from Amazon? I will be shoot 7/16 steel shot at targets and squirrels.
Hello there! I'm sorry it has taken me to respond to your question, but I actually didn't get a notification that there was a new comment on this video so I will do my best to respond now. In my limited experience with shooting these types of slingshots with 7/16th steel I can only say to try a few brands and varieties(meaning band thickness mostly). I tried everything from .8 mm to 1.5mm bands to see what shot the best. I'm not sure if its an actual thing or not but with certain thicker bands I get a sense of what I'd call 'over-banding" if that makes sense? Like the band has a noticeable "snap" and I couldn't draw it as far as I would normally like. This seemed to be more inaccurate. But a slightly less thick band was smoother and almost as fast and more accurate as well. So this is something you must feel out for yourself. I will say with certainty however, that every band that I've got off of amazon brake in the same place after a similar amount of shots, regardless of brand. I purchased some band material from Simple Shot in .8mm and started making my own bands. The difference was night and day. Very smooth, accurate and powerful and they seem to last much longer. I'm not trying to push their product but just say that in my experience, the quality is so much better and it ended up being cheaper in the long run. I only use Simple Shot ultimate band material now. Hope that helps! God bless you, and He loves you!
