I've been having issues with my 16 year old daughter after raising her to be a disciplined, humble, strong, and happy child. I had to come into work early this morning and I noticed this podcast and almost felt like divine intervention. Perfect, absolutely perfect timing! Thank you for what you and your team publish. Big salute to all of you. Much respect!
I figured it's 12 minutes long and just clicked because it's easier than thinking about it for some appreciable portion of 12 minutes... and then clicking to spend the 12 minutes on top of the first few anyways. Efficient resource allocation. ;)
Echo made a perfect example with Breakfast Club which displayed a classic example of "I need to have the last word" referring to Bender's back and forth with the principal. The almighty ego only made things worse.
@@SixFigureStearns As a person who has never served, I fully agree. Echo has a more laid back approach and seems to be the kind of person you'd buy a beer and shoot the breeeze at a bar while Jocko has a subtle intensity due to his combat experiences and makes you want to listen with extreme attentiveness. Echo still could turn most into a pretzel or put them to sleep in no time seeing how he's a black belt in jiu jitsu. 😂

One, target audience was kids, kids and space content (Edit: Before I forget, NASA was huge back then, like Tesla in 2017ish... Going to space was exciting Space shuttles like Columbia, the Challenger, all big time) Two, pizza delivery once ,mom gets home from work. Three, bicycles and kids, but this had flying bikes across the neighborhood. Maybe lame today, but in 1983, '84, '85 what else did kids do but eat pizza, go to the mall for the arcade usually Saturdays, and playing outside riding bikes after school:) HA! I was 8 in '83 BTW

Robert E Lee let his ego get away from himself at Gettysburg. It was the price the Confederacy paid for having General Lee in the first place. Please understand, I think General Lee was brilliant. However he should have redeployed to better ground instead of ordering Pickett's suicidal charge. As we all know, and I'm Canadian, the Rebel army would never be able to take the offensive to the Federals after Gettysburg. Jocko, you have my undying respect. Listening to your podcasts has made me a better leader, more tactful and ultimately a stronger man. Control and disciple have become my mainstays. This Canadian salutes you Sir.

Hang in there brother. I started running a couple of months ago to fill the void. I have definitely not been hard this past month and haven't been running as much I should be. It's a struggle for sure but I try to stay positive anyways.
Oh, the reason E.T. feels neutered and emotionless is because it is. They took the guns away from the agents so the threat of E.T. being gunned down and bleeding out on the bathroom floor is gone. They CGI'd giant Vietnam era radios into their hands, like every single agent needs one of those. You take away that threat, that suspense, then the story is just a "So What? Special". You know what else will pass muster? Can't Buy Me Love, the Patrick Dempsey flic.

@@Numantino312 Agreed. Terminator 2 has aged really well and Jurassic Park(which is turning 30 next year)has, too.
