Lost my marriage, my job, and the life of one of my soldiers all within a week. It proved to be too much for me and I attempted to take my life as a result. But I’m still here and allowed me to clarify my purpose. Staying in the fight
Prioritize and execute, stay in the fight brother!

I once lost my job, my girlfriend and I broke up, my band of 7 years broke up AND my best friend moved to another continent all within a few weeks. I went did my first bungee jump. I literally jumped off a bridge BUT in that jump I decided to make it a symbolic death. It actually helped me more that I thought it would. I got my shit correct and moved on
absolutely beautiful, happy for you keep your head up
Good strat, bro. Will recommend.
I wanna do bungee jumping so bad
I’ve done skydiving and lemme tell you that shit is like no other thing in this world , the rush is something I constantly crave now. Highly recommend it bro !
That’s a genius way to cope
It’s 4am I woke up for work with anxiety. This is what I needed
In my mid 40s and I'm at the end of week 8 of rebuilding myself from the ground up. And tuning in and listening to guys like Jocko, Dr. Andrew Huberman, and Chris Williamson, among others, have helped me tremendously. Some days are hard. But there are worst things out there. And I'm learning that hard is good. And good is hard.
Live. Love. Learn. Grow. Rinse. Repeat.
Keep on rockin'! 🤘
As a person with some serious PTSD I really needed this. Thank you Jocko
54. Lost the relationship, my crew, the career and found out I had to get a heart valve replacement done. Got the new heart valve and the dust of everything else is settling. Stay strong through the tough times guys. Fight. It will get better.
Hope you’re good now bro

When Jocko looks in the mirror, he doesn't reflect himself because there can only be one Jocko.
His reflection tactically retreats.
Obviously situationally based but I like the “dealing with the small problems first” technique because crossing something, however small, off the list gives me energy to take on the next problem.
How helpful can a 9 minute video be? This one and others are worth so much.
Best thing to listen to before I go to sleep. Great stuff.
I’m 59 about to be 60, God help me ! My ex wife lives at my house while dating another man, my about to be 17 year old son thinks he’s a grown man and should be making all life decisions on his own, we just put my Mother in assisted living and she hates it, this once sweet woman has become downright mean. Those are just 3 of the litany of things going on, besides the fact I have let myself get terribly out of shape. So I started walking a month ago, up to 5 miles a day, no days off, now and continuing to increase and find I’m feeling better despite no resolution to the problems. Thanks Jocko, moving helps and my mind is clearer, will address problems as best I can, No Factor! Btw discipline = freedom I read daily, such a great tool. Get some, I’m on the path once again!
Bro get your ex outta ur house man
Forget her keep walking
The ex has to go. No exceptions.
The ex has to go and the son needs a reality check. I’d encourage you to take the ex to court and financially cut off your son.
@@Ryan-co9xc well the explanation of my situation is not spelled out fully for obvious reasons. I have told my ex she has 3 months to move on or I will take legal action, she understands. My son is a naturally aggressive kid, which I’ve taught him to be since he was 3, but he knows how far I will let things go before we have a real problem. Funny thing, he wanted to wrestle around a couple of weeks ago after I posted this, I said ok and within about a minute i had him in a rear naked choke and he tapped. I told him “remember this because it will be a long time before you can do that to me”, he laughed and said I know. Btw my son has a job and doesn’t ask for money, believe it or not I started telling him at 13 he needed to figure out how to make his own money. I do appreciate your comment and I hope you have an awesome day bro!
Seeing Jocko give grounded, sound advice while also exhibiting his humanity & a capacity to feel strong emotions inspires an unreal level of respect & admiration from me
It's better to do a thing rather than live in fear of it.
I need to listen to Jocko more often. When you have a bunch of issues going on, it’s hard to stop for a few minutes and just breath and assess. Then grab 1 issue. If it’s the most important one to have to do now, get it done. If it means taking out some small issues first, do it. Sitting/freezing on issues for long periods is no good. Quickly assess and then take action! No…. You may not get everything right, but freezing gets nothing done.
bruh emotional control is the hardest thing to have especially when you're dealing betrayal or loved ones
Dealing with women (especially my wife) really tests me. Especially when they have double standards, which is all the time. And they constantly disregard the problems they're causing.
Nihilism and Stoicism helps.
I'm taking L's in life right now, but I also have some awesome things to fight for. Get up, dust off, and keep f'ing fighting.
Having a tough upbringing in a military family, Definitely set the stage for my own military service as a teenager... That's when I left right after school. Several deployments overseas And actually I was never stateside during my 6 years except for in between deployments... You learn a lot. You learned to cope with grief And loss... Pride in professionalism.. Leadership so many things. It's probably a bad thing to say but it's been said before.. I really believe that most people, but perhaps not everyone, would definitely benefit from a couple years military service right out of high school. It teaches you So many things that you just can't go into it here. There's a lot of hard lessons... And honestly I think there's a lot of people that could use that these days. But it also gives you the intestinal Fortitude and determination To drive-through problem areas and difficulties in your life.
2 of us has rupture occuring in our bodies last night... Defending my apart and writing of flesh and bone body attachment
and I have to say damages from the retaliation of forces for me.. so.. YES. RUPTURED popping sounds in my gastral intestine.. so there for bound for waste of Federal medication expenses.. lol that is 110.00 plus Dollars (HE'LL BE SCREAMING LOUD AS HELL Tonight.. not even alright.. you revealed his secure location as well as my own)now.. continued from above
$110.00 of my money MULTIPLE TIMRD and then 23.00 of my medical and VA medical coverages you just wasted in my personal situation alone. Only mine.

This right here just solidify what I need to do, I've taken the time off and now it time to prioritize and execute!
I always ask myself the question, "what's going to move the needle?" But that question also implies that you know which gage you are focused. So then I try to prioritize the correct gage meaning if the money gage is low, how do I get movement, if the creative fulfillment is not there, how do I move the needle, and there are so many gages, nutrition, fitness both mental and physical, relationships, skills development, the list goes on and on but they all feed the overall what I call the Master Gage which in the end really is how you feel. If too many gages are low then the master gage needle drops so I make it a point to check all the gages each day to stay out of the red. Hope this makes sense and maybe it helps someone else! GET SOME!
The ultimate test of one's true strength of character is self-control. "A sword does not need to be unsheathed for it to be considered dangerous."
Jocko, sometimes people can't take control of their emotions. It's de-pressing them (de-pression is suppressed emotions, control by mind, drugs etc). eMotions need to run their course, run out of steam/energy and suppressed grief etc is like ticking time*omb (how many millions people are doing this?)
Explain what I mean - I was overcome by some emotion, years ago. It was distressing (my colleague was enjoying my state), but then, suddenly I "gave up/in", accepted what I felt and guess what? It left, my system, like baloon flying away.... And it happened again, when my boss enjoying my "worrying", telling me about next day impossible task, I spent worried all evening, but as soon as I gave into it, it never happened.
So if people here going through tough times, give it try if all else fail. Because
"Worry settles nothing, Just wait for things to mend, Fret not over problems, Life solves them in the end"
God joyful day
Better than anything I have learned in therapy.
JOCKMAN REIGNS SUPREME. THANKS, COMMANDO. I'LL TACKLE MY ISSUES RIGHT ON AND STOP BEING A WUSS.
Jocko is one main beacon in the night for me. Thank you!
At 2:50 Jocko has given me a unique topic for a country song.
6:10 is another country song. "Old Shep", etc.
Jocko speaks on the exact same scenario I’ll be going through, literally hours after a mental breakdown. Always comes thru clutch with what I need to hear, god bless the USA
Gosh I wish I had someone like Jocko in my life
Thank you Jocko.
Got 99 problems jocko.....
Thanks for your help.
Thank you very much!
Emotion is best sustained by the mean not the extreme.
I needed to hear this one, this Hitt home for me hard. Taking control of emotions Is certainly key
Jocko you’ve been such an influential person in my life, I thank you
Thank you Echo and Jocko
Thanks for the wise words Jocko!
Glad a new podcast has been uploaded
In the middle of a divorce right now, it's difficult to see how I will come out the other side of this. Only way is to keep going. We have to know the storm will pass, the suffering brings us closer to God. Stay strong!
Awesome Jocko, love ya brotha.
This helps!
My cost benefit analysis sometimes takes too long to compute 👍
I'm working on talking through my problems instead of taking the flight path. I really need to focus on prioritizing and executing so I can work through my emotions instead of choosing to give up.
I've always had the mindset of flight from trauma. I've never had the stability to fight but I have had the mindset of saving others lives; I'm on the path of wanting to save my own life just as much as others. Because my life is worth just as much.
Thanks for helping.
Prioritize and execute I love it
I think it’s good when life rains shit on you. It’s like a challenge that just helps you get stronger and builds character. The more shit that rains down, the easier it gets to just let it all roll off your back as you keep striding forward on the path.
A lighthouse of a human being shining in the pitch-black darkness making our life worth living - one day at a time. Thank you, Jocko and Echo!
This whole video was words of wisdom thank you🙏🏾
Thank you, sir.
Hey, just wanted to thank you here. You've helped me get back up in my life. THANK YOU, GOD BLESS
Thanks
Jocko for President 2024 we need you 🇺🇸
This guy is just so wise... thank goodness for his sharing his wisdom.
When you prioritize, do you write stuff down?
Can you just keep stuff on youtube? The other webpage does not seem to have a search function, and there are whats called barriers to entry...
"Tomorrow you start at 0". One of the best fucking things I've ever heard about getting yourself together.
So true.
that was brilliant can relate
How is this guy so good?
Would like to point out that dealing with smaller problems successfully first can build up your confidence to tackle larger problems. Also some problems require not doing something but stopping doing something in those cases taking action is so important you can stop doing one thing by starting to do another filling the hole just stopping isn't enough action is important. Jocko is very wise.
I love this one. I was listening to your breakdown and it hit me on how wide "Prioritize and execute" is applicable. As a Pharma Operator, you do one product at a time, and it's the product on demand, you definitely have to prioritize and execute. Incase you don't do that contamination is a sure calamity and drugs is all about lives.
"PRIORITIZE AND EXECUTE"
"99 problems but jocko ain't one"
Great channel! Brasil right here
Yes your so right 👍.Thank you esp maybe revisit to your woods? Appreciate you support am only one against crappy malicious ,sick f. Ks who should be able to even operate this way.really sick 🤢😷🤢.
This is a very important issue you are raising. I let my emotions take me for a ride here and there and I have to talk to myself to control them. It is near impossible unless you shut down completely. With drugs and distractions
I’m in the exact same spot. You doing any better ?

Truly , well said big G .. or big J . I Appreciate the wise dome of a lion #thinkaboutit
Hello. I had practiced euthanasia to two cats in a veterinary clinic. They were wonderful creatures but i could not help them anymore. So their suffering was ended. Before i took this decision, i put myself in their position. If I cant live with dignity and quality of life, I would rather Break on Through to the Other Side. Finally, I wanna thank you for the wonderful podcats😁and amazing guests that you have. Thank you.
Prioritize and execute!
So easy to say
Sitting here with Echo Charles😂

99 problems but the B hasn't won. I would say the last 10+ yrs were tuff,if I can live thru that. It was like slaying a dragon at 1 point. I wish I could teach/ show my adult son,he's not doing good. You're right itz lil baby steps of action. L&R
Dude my biggest problem is the cat (Echo) kill it. Lmao
Ever talk to a field epidemiologist? Talk about having your priorities in line at the right time.
I've watched bunch of these videos and I'm wondering why Echo is on the podcast.
Hey there, taking control of your emotions is essential for taking control of your life. Your emotions have the power to influence your thoughts and actions, so it's important to understand and manage them effectively. Don't let your emotions control you, but rather learn to control them. By doing so, you'll be able to make better decisions, handle difficult situations more effectively, and live a more fulfilling life. Remember, you are in control of your emotions, not the other way around.
I counted 15 cats this morning.
DC gleefully jumping at even hypothetical opportunity to take life. What do we do with people whose internal need to take life was useful in the military but now are civilians? What happens?
Imagine if everyone attacked everything from a scope, objectives, and improvise on the fly standpoint.
Better world imminent.
Jocko, I don't know if you read comments, but if you do, sir how do I tackle my issues when I cannot sleep? I know as a seal you have had to deal with sleep deprivation. I have diagnosed insomnia I sleep at most 2 hours a night and I have no control over that. It has been this way for about 10 years. It leaves me strung out every day of my life. I don't know what to do at this point
hey, i’m not Jocko, but that sounds like a good reason to go see a doctor. i’ve had such a problem, although not so severe, and a period of sleeping pills helped me a lot at stabilising a healthy sleeping routine. REALLY relaxing before sleeping helped greatly also (reducing an amount of noises and light, breathing exercises etc.). there’s plenty of information on the internet for such a problem, but my first point is the most helpful and reliable, i suppose. anyways good luck with solving the issue!
Have you seen a doc? Are you overweight? Do you exercise/workout? Try some personal reflections & write shit down. Might help compartmentalize stress & anxiety that could be affecting you.🤙🏼
@@ciriearn thanks man I rly appreciate the reply. I've been seeing a doctor for years and the sleep meds I'm on definitely help a bit. I think my big problem is my diet; I'll eat slightly salty foods and all of a sudden my heart rate will be 140-150 for like 8 hours. It's so scary. I think the solution is to eliminate salt?? I don't know man. Thank you so much for the reply
@@ctrip34 I do workout but I've had insomnia since I was like 20 years old when I was in great shape (years ago). I think I have undiagnosed food allergies; certain foods send my heart rate through the roof for hours and hours I don't know why. Have a small hole or anomaly in my heart too. Thank you so much for the response you guys are you rly kind in the comment section
@@mrclean5146 well that's good your still active. I feel you on salt, I've had issues with it. I started substituting it with the pink Himalayan salt & it's a lot better. Alot better for you too. Did some looking into it & it's really interesting. Anywho good luck. Hope things get better.🤙🏼
This week I found out that i failed the semester and that my best friend likes my crush.
Kick lion jowl is an anagram of Jocko willink. Thank you and goodbye

Jocko didn't say 'kill the cat' goof. That's why he is the host and not the other "men".. or you.
@@ziraprod6090 The humor seems to be lost on you buddy.
Yes I know ,big fella ..Oh so difficuilt it's those weasily passive aggressive ritual loving m..frs who just cannot stop oh my God....NOT the problems ,externals per se ....😢
YES how to find that One problem to prioritize Jocko please !
I have never felt more more validated and in turn horrified in a single 10 minute block. Jesus Christ kill the cat Jocko!?
Did he just say: “kill the cat???????“
I was static for to long, I lost my girlfriend, I can’t make sence of it
Guys, is the cat a metaphor for women?
I dont know why kill the cat was so funny 😂 i love animals though hahaha if that haooened to me id be sobbing mad tears. Even when my fish died i sobbed
Why is it so humane to put down a suffering animal but it's a crime to put down a terminally ill human if that's what they want?
Eliminate the cat! Just kidding.
