At 5:40 in the video you will see a live round pop out of the ejection port when I insert the magazine. That's because I had just drop tested the magazine and it had lost control of the round. I didn't see it not properly seated before inserting it into the gun so when I seated the mag, it popped out. Rounds will pop out of most any magazine after being dropped while fully (or partially) loaded. Thanks everyone!
Glad this got resolved. I bought one and haven't had any issues with the straight mags but picked up the curved mags for JHP security. They have run hollow points flawlessly. Love this gun

Great video. I too have the SP9A1 Gen 2 and had problems and had the first gen mags, and then the third with metal brace and black followers, and that did not help my issue of having failure to eject spent casings. A guy on a Facebook Stribog Magazine Issue group told me to do was to email Global Ordnance and request the free lighter bolt spring. That solved my issue 100%, but I still bought eight of the curved mags as I like how the rounds stay flat as they rise up in the mag. So if you have issues like I did, get that lighter spring for the bolt. My Stribog now is 100% reliable.
I was on the fence between the Stribog and Scorpion for my 1st PCC. Just based on asethetics and the fact the Bog has an Aluminum lower VS the Scorpions composite I was favoring the Bog. After issues came out, Ive been in a holding pattern and started to lean towards the CZ. But now...
@vincent vega I have the Stribog, CZ Scorpion, and PSA AK-V. The Stribog has an aluminum upper with a polymer lower. I have mags from CZ, PGS, Magpul, and PSA for the CZ and PSA, so I tried the Lingle Aluminum lower for the Stribog that uses Scorpion pattern magazines, with the added bonus of being able to use AR pattern FCGs and grips, but the tolerances in the Lingle lower to accommodate differences in the CZ, PGS, Magpul, and PSA mags was too loose so I returned it. Lingle has a new Gen2 Scorpion lower, but from what I've seen, the A3 Tactical Gen2 Scorpion polymer lower for the Stribog is a much better lower and is less expensive than the Lingle when compared head to head. I almost bought a pre-order A3 Tactical Gen2 lower from Rainier Arms a few days before GO announced the curved Stribog mags. Now I'm undecided whether I want to try my luck with the A3 Tactical lower for compatibility with the CZ and PSA mags, or stay with proprietary, but curved mags for the Stribog. With MAC's endorsement, I'm leaning towards the curved mags.
I am glad I listened to you on getting the metal lip mags. I waited for the curved mags to become available and the Sp9a1 that I have runs great. I have seven of the old 30 round stick magazines that are pretty much useless, but I have seven of the new curved magazines that run like champs.
@military arms channel Just want to take a minute to tell you thanks. You’re a brutally honest UA-camr that’s looking out for the viewers. You may not have crazy cinematic elements or above the rest editing skills like some of the others, but your content trumps them all because of that brutal honesty. Hands down, I (along with my wallet) trust you more than any other gun tuber. I didn’t buy the a1 when they were $600 because YOU were one of the very few to say it had problems. I can finally pull the trigger on the A3! Seriously, thanks for the hard work, dedication and above all, honesty. Not enough of those three things in this day and age.
Thank you so much for your input and info resulting in these new curved mags. I am also glad you now are enjoying this weapon a little more. Best regards.
I have a Stribog A3 and have had no feeding issues with the steel lip mags but its nice to know that the problem does exist. I'll be picking up some of the curved mags as a precaution.
My dual rod Gen 2 SPA1 was a great gun but Grand Power (or Global Ordinance actually) had to send me shipment after shipment of replacement mags since they ALL split down the spine and had chips from the feedlips after a times being reloaded. And Jaro refused to believe that they were made of shit.
So glad to hear this. Due to the positive feedback so far of the curved mags I picked up my A3 yesterday. I held off for so long. Now with your feedback with all the problems you had makes me a lot more hopeful for it. Got the one with the telescopic tailhook brace and not sure how I feel a pout it. Feels a little awkward but I haven’t fired it yet. Plan to put the short stroke dampening kit in it to make recoil even lighter.
I don't know why but I really liked this Stribog when I first saw it, with the previous feed issues and the curved mags being sold out everywhere I decided to pass on it and get a Banshee or Scorpion at the gun show today.... well I didn't feel the warm fuzzy's holding the two guns but ended up finding and buying two curved magazines for a gun I did not own. That was remedied immediately. SP9A3 w/ brace for $1099.28 OTD at a local gun store. I hope the mags are all that!
@@Militaryarmschannel 300 rds 115 gr. two stove pipes,124 gr. 50 rds no issues so far in curved mags. I bought the short stroke buffer and hope it makes it more reliable. It's a lot of fun but needs to be better than this. I think there are enough options to work out the kinks but the manufacturer should have done this first.
So glad they fixed their magazines vs a recall on the weapon. Not sure why anyone would not use the CZ Scorpion mags, as they are extremely reliable!!!
I feel the same way. I believe these mags to be the answer to the issues of the Stribog platform, which I always said was the Achille's Heel of the platform. Not only to they load better but you can feel they feed better when you drop the bolt as opposed to the stick mags. They finitely address the polymer issue as the stick mags felt cheap and flexed quite a bit. These save me from selling the gun which I love but hated the mags.
My Stribog has been aces and I’ve also bought an A3 lower to also try using Scorpion mags. Can’t wait to see that turns out. Thanks for all the work you’ve put into this coverage. As a result I’ll buy some of the curved mags as well.
@@scottb1002 has worked fantastically so far but I never had problems with the factory lower and mags. I like having both options. I use the Magpul and factory scorpion mags in the A3 lower so far and both run great.
Thanks for this review because I was going to get the conversion kit for CZ mags.... But I honestly didn’t feel like doing all that lol. Appreciate you sir!!
I bought the new steel lipped mags with the newest follower and have had absolutely no issues whatsoever. I always lube my mags and change them out, but I do that with my AR mags too. It's just a good practice IMO.
The two polymer A1 straight mags (no steel) I just got with my firearm from PSA don't seem to have any feeding or loading issues. I do wonder about the durability problem. They also gave me one curved mag. All ran perfectly so far with 8 different ammo types, Federal 115, Federal 124, PPU 124, Blazer 124, Ammo Inc 124 JHP, Hornady 147 XTP reloads, Xtreme 124 brass jacket reloads, and Sig V-Crown 147 reloads.
I'm curious. If the curve in the mags helps, why does straight B&T and glock mags function in the apc9? Why not the same binding problem? Or has that problem not been covered yet?
@L C a common issue with shitty mags. I've had this issue on one, cheap 1911 mag and I immediately tossed it because it was a failure machine. I've never had it on even the cheapest of AK or AR mags.
I love my stribog. Great weapon for sure. I received some good advice, some one told me to use DuPont Teflon dry film spray in my mags. Definitely helps the follower to not stick. Improved feeding for sure i recommend everyone do this with their polymer mags. The only issue I have had with weapon is cracked feed lip on 1 of 11 mags.
I dont know why they made curved magazines that would more likely fix the issues and then not steel reinforce them like the gen 3 stick mags had. Just makes them stronger and more durable.
With all the aftermarket support for the little bits and pieces why not aftermarket support for the magazine issue??? Magpul. Start sending them requests to get in the Stribog magazine business.
Awesome video, Tim! Very cool that you were able to help resolve the reliability issue. I had disregarded the Stribog before due to reports of reliability issues, but I may give them a second look. Thank you for the video!
Thank you and thank you for the support! I think you'll enjoy the Stribog with the new curved mags. I now have one tucked in the Jeep that I leave there for emergency purposes. I trust the new mags that much with the A1 now.
So the Stribog is cool again? I order those 30 rounders when they came out and they are great. I actually started investing in my Stribog instead of it just sitting in the safe.
Things are sold out everywhere :(. I love the gun so far. I haven’t had any problems other then the bolt hold open didn’t work every time with cheap metal bullets.
The owner of Grand power is a little bit of a micro manager and very resistant to negative criticism. The stribog is his "baby" and don't you dare insult it!
Its confusing that they took a slight step back and didn't include steel lips in the new mags. I feel like they're just going to eventually make another new generation that reincorporates that feature.
At 9:43, A1 Gen1 is mentioned, "with rod inside the receiver" A1 Gen2 isn't mentioned. So, Gen2 without the receiver rod is not reliable? Also, Gen1 is reciprocating... Hmm... More confusion..
My Lingle lower made my A1 100% reliable. Good to see them finally fix the mags. Edit: Also had the benefit of me being able to put a good AR trigger in there.
I have a stribog that fails to eject over and over with all three straight mags that came with it. I will definitely be ordering at least three curved mags. My comment mainly has to do with customer satisfaction. If you have Global Ordinance's ear at all, maybe it could be presented to them that they could give stribog owners some coupons for mags that actually function. Seems kinda shitty we all have to buy different mags in order to make their product functional. My two cents.
Thank you for this video Mac! millions Stribog will be sold now and millions of curved mags, and other companies will jump on the bandwagon with more products including Magpul curved mags!!!! So glad that you can out with this video…. And that you were proved right…. All that was needed was curved mags!!
Had a few malfunctions with the straight mags that came with the gun got two curved mags when i saw they came out with them only one range trip so far but 200 rnds no issues
About hollow points around 7:30. I don't really agree with this. PCC's are used by law enforcement in many countries, so ability to run with defensive ammunition is a must. Finnish police used to have MP5 as patrol support weapon, but they are switching to CZ EVO's. In many European countries rifle caliber patrol rifles are considered to be special purpose weapons for SWAT like units.
Fuck yes. I know I was rooting for Grand Power to resolve their reliability issue. Makes a great argument to buy it after your CC pistol first over an AR.
Glad somebody decided to correct the manufacturers mistake. Makes you wonder why they didn't change this after the first generation. It's a no brainer if it makes the gun reliable.
If you rest the gun on even the curved mags while shooting, it can still induce a malfunction. A lot of guns will malfunction when you do that, but that's the only malfunctions I've had in the past with the 'bog.

I've been waiting on these for over a year now!
I've heard murmurs about them for a while. I was happy to learn GO was making them a reality.
I’ve been waiting on this video! Thank you mac!
HK had this same problem with MP5 mags decades ago. The straight mags don't dig 9mm but they work great for 10mm & 45.
Good to know... maybe now I'll pull the trigger and buy one for my PCC collection.
I am glad I listened to you on getting the metal lip mags. I waited for the curved mags to become available and the Sp9a1 that I have runs great. I have seven of the old 30 round stick magazines that are pretty much useless, but I have seven of the new curved magazines that run like champs.
@military arms channel
Just want to take a minute to tell you thanks.
What a simple fix to a seemingly complex problem that has plagued the Stribog Gen3 design 👍 Now I am buying the Gen 3.
Thank you so much for your input and info resulting in these new curved mags. I am also glad you now are enjoying this weapon a little more. Best regards.
I have the A1, with the short stroke mod and curved mags.. love it.
And those mags look great! Form follows function.
Was hoping you would make a video on the new magazines since you've covered the stribog since the beginning.
Finally they listen to you. Owners will be happy with these results.
Same results in my testing
Good to hear
I have a Stribog A3 and have had no feeding issues with the steel lip mags but its nice to know that the problem does exist. I'll be picking up some of the curved mags as a precaution.
I'm glad you're relentless Tim because I'd really like to buy one of these.
Thanks for the info on the curved mag for the Stribog
Hopefully you are enjoying your gun with the curved mags.
Love how at 5:40 the stribog yeets a round out for the homies.
That's a good catch.
Thx for doing this video, I've been waiting to hear your thoughts on these new mags. Just ordered 2 but the cheapest I could find them was $29.99.
So glad they fixed their magazines vs a recall on the weapon. Not sure why anyone would not use the CZ Scorpion mags, as they are extremely reliable!!!
I was just going to say the same thing. Price is excellent and reliability is 100%.
Haven’t had any issues with my A1 straight mags yet but I will be purchasing 3 curved mags today.
thanks for the video today tim!!! thanks for the mag video!!
How did the new lower work out? Curious if the scorpion mags solve all the problems.
Thanks Man, that video helped a lot!😎👌🏻 Greetings from Austria!👋🏻
I think it has to do with both the feed angle and the overall design of the magazines.
The b&t mag has room in the mag for the rounds to seat a little cattywampus without binding.
Cost, manufacturing time
I need to go right out & buy those IMMEDIATELY
A year too late. I bought the A3 lower and use palmetto akv mags and it a perfect gun with cheap great mags.
I spent the majority of my time watching this video staring at baby yoda
So the Stribog is cool again? I order those 30 rounders when they came out and they are great. I actually started investing in my Stribog instead of it just sitting in the safe.
Check out the dragon snout. Changes the look completely and gives great ergonomics 😂
Things are sold out everywhere :(. I love the gun so far. I haven’t had any problems other then the bolt hold open didn’t work every time with cheap metal bullets.
The prototype used uzi/colt smg mags. Screw last round hold open. Those are the best smg mags ever made. Shame they didn't stick with that.
Companies go with their own mags for continued sales sometimes.
wondering why they chose the "walking in circles" solution at first instead of the "let's just resolve it right away" option?
The owner of Grand power is a little bit of a micro manager and very resistant to negative criticism. The stribog is his "baby" and don't you dare insult it!
@@FlyingNDriving yep, his company perhaps grew a little more than expected and so it would be time to adjust his attitude.... :)
Hmm... More confusion..
best review on their curved mag
Wonder how B&T got the APC to run with straight magazines?
Swiss engineering. Same with the Uzi, proper engineering.
Great review and research as usual!
Excellent review like always
The Stribog is now Grogu approved
My Lingle lower made my A1 100% reliable. Good to see them finally fix the mags.
Edit: Also had the benefit of me being able to put a good AR trigger in there.
Great instruction keep it up!
I know you do this research for us and yourself, but man, they owe you bigtime! Ha, what a great gun this will be with the new mags!
My wish came true! LOL I think a lot of people wanted you to make this..
My customary and usual comment for algorithms. Great video
Thank you!
Thank you for this video Mac! millions Stribog will be sold now and millions of curved mags, and other companies will jump on the bandwagon with more products including Magpul curved mags!!!! So glad that you can out with this video…. And that you were proved right…. All that was needed was curved mags!!
Thanks brother. 👊
Had a few malfunctions with the straight mags that came with the gun got two curved mags when i saw they came out with them only one range trip so far but 200 rnds no issues
The mag issue was the result why i stayed away. Im hoping there is a reliable lowe that takes cz scorpion mags
The new version of the A3 tactical lower just shipped out. I slapped a CMC trigger in and it works great. It is $200 at Raniers.
@@MrIanmclarty nice im hoping there's one that comes out for the b&t apc9 pro
About hollow points around 7:30. I don't really agree with this. PCC's are used by law enforcement in many countries, so ability to run with defensive ammunition is a must. Finnish police used to have MP5 as patrol support weapon, but they are switching to CZ EVO's. In many European countries rifle caliber patrol rifles are considered to be special purpose weapons for SWAT like units.
Gen 3 mpx at twice the price or Gen 3 stribog with curved mags. Which is better value?
Fuck yes. I know I was rooting for Grand Power to resolve their reliability issue. Makes a great argument to buy it after your CC pistol first over an AR.
Thanks Mac.. You are awesome .
Glad somebody decided to correct the manufacturers mistake. Makes you wonder why they didn't change this after the first generation. It's a no brainer if it makes the gun reliable.
The owner of Grand Power is very hard headed.
If you rest the gun on even the curved mags while shooting, it can still induce a malfunction. A lot of guns will malfunction when you do that, but that's the only malfunctions I've had in the past with the 'bog.
I’ve had zero issues with the straight mags with my A1. I have 2 curved ones as well that have been 100%
B&T, UZI, and Colt are the only people I have known to ever get a 9mm straight mag to kind of work.
