Thank you for saying over the course of three days. Sometime small projects take me a week or more with 2 small kiddos
Even car painting channels dont give you this advice: "remove tape while paint still wet!" Which to me is TOP tip. Bravo. :)
😂😂😂😂😂
The nap time tip is exactly what I needed
Nice doors.
In fact the way you choose to paint is probably how 99% of people paint their doors.
Great stuff
I would keep the door on, but I'd remove the door knob. It's just 2 screws, and takes 30 seconds to remove. Faster than tape, and you'll get a better result, and easier to paint.
Taping very rarely will leave nice edges. Always remove knobs, a minute more for BETTER results. I need to put in fridge, just place a plastic bag over and seal. Don't know who told you to put paint in the frig.
Takes less time to remove a door knob than to mask it. Hers looked bad.
Putting the paint brush in in a zip bag in the fridge will last for months however too long and it may start to rust, however take it out and it will paint fine.
Don't forget this is a diy job,,no fridge needed aslong as bag is airtight but no longer than 2 days..also yea take the knows off..shouod be no need to keep brushes for months in fridge soon as your done wash and dry them
A tip for you is lay off that roller finish with a brush
“Take the tape off when the paint is fresh”. And how are you supposed to do that when your project takes you two days?
I totally agree that the hinges and door knobs need to be removed. Far less hassle!
That tape removal tip is essential
If you line your paint tray using foil or plastic, it's simple to keep clean.
The make plastic inserts for thst. Foil tears and plastic allows dried paint to crumble off and contaminate your paint. Just buy the correct products to do the job correctly or hire professionals.
Ok Tysm I tried this out I looked amzing
You don’t have to put the wrapped brushes in the fridge. I leave mine out but wrapped. The doors look great!
Better yet just wash them every time. That will keep them in the best shape for the longest time
Great tips thanks so much❤
I like the doors. I was thinking of changing my mirror bifold doors.
I love is the door and the knob too❤❤
Looks good!!
Good job!
Thank you super job.
Best idea is Mr.Bean's see his video to learn how to paint. Mr.bean is best painter😂
thanks! quick and easy
do NOT put in the fridge, the fumes are bad to breathe in let alone marinade in your food 😂
Right lol!
😂😂
My dad is a retired decorator and he just wraps the rollers and brushes in a plastic bag and then puts them somewhere. To be fair if you have finished you should clean them but if it isn’t hot this will keep them wet for a while
Always remove hardware.
Why?
The paint can still get to the edges of the brackets, door knob, etc. The door knob is really really easy to remove. The hinges are more of a pain to do
@@tomu4725 Thanks for the info. I can remove light switch plates and electric plug plates; but I know my limitations and patience level. I will be pulling out the blue tape and just being very careful overall! 😉
@@tomu4725It’s all a matter of perspective. Doorknobs can be a huge hassle to remove and put back on. I’m taping. I’m not going to be in a magazine.
I use a small roller, brush, piece of cardboard for the floor and a rag damp with warm water. No tape, hardware stays on. Cut in the edges and around hardware. I like to use a 2” angled brush and pull it at 45degress with a slight twist to create a full stroke of paint with a crisp edge that won’t leave a bead of paint. Takes practice, I’m not saying I’m the greatest painter but I dont use tape cause I can use my rag to clean up mistakes while the paints still wet. And Always! Wash your brushes throughly when you’re done, don’t leave it full of paint. 😮😅
Great video. Only thing missing is what size roller/brush you used😜
Lovely, paint fume dinner for tomorrow.
You can rinse your brushes and rollers with water lol They will be just as clean as you need it to be lol
Good job...also you honestly don't need to put them in the fridge aslong as the bag is air tight your good as they cannotbdry out but don't leave more than a day maybe 3 tops...and lightly sand inbetween coats..
Important tip. Use a premium paint so you don’t have to do too many coats.
What kind of paint type she used? Or need to use ?.matte of flat or semi-gloss ?
Thank you!
Good on you!!
U can just put the roller on a Ziploc bag....it will hold just leave it on the counter
Fridge does nothing. If you wrap them properly they won't dry at room temperature.
Have you ever tried it, it worked for me.
I got you... that's why the cake taste like semigloss
You kept the doors on for painting?
Hope you keep the walls on too! 🤣
What paint is this? I want to paint my doors exactly like this
How can i best paint new door jambs/stops with door still on? Doors are being fitted in a day or two. Will the gap be big enough not to mess up the paintwork?
Cool. When a taake off the tape the paint coming with it. Sucks jajajaja
Hi! Can you use the same paint you use for walls? Any specifics on the paint to use? Thanks!
I use the same paint that I use on walls, but I often use a different sheen. I prefer semi-gloss for trim and doors!
Always take the doorknobs off before painting
Did you have to sand them or top coat?
Nope.
keeper
Don't understand the fridge for the wrapped brush and roller... I almost fell off my chair.
It won't dry out it will stay a long time moist
Don't knock it till you tried it. It will last for months in the fridge.
The low temperature retards the drying agents in the paint.
Is the other way around on doors. First the roller then the brush.
What roller did you use
What kind of brush and roller did you use or does it really matter?
Y'all do know it's excess and not access right?
Which paint is best
What based paint you used? I hope wood paint not wall paint! Also Egshell , matt , or gloss paint?
Or you could do like whoever painter they hired to paint my house before I bought it… just paint everything all metal hinges, rough Spackle that someone started to cover holes….
Thks 4 tip to not have to remove hardware
Whats the name and place you bought the paint pal?
You can find it at any hardware store. I got mine at Home Depot
@@Thediyplaybook oh ok. Thank you. Do you remember the cost?
Did you just paint or gloss at the end? Thanks x
I used paint with a semi-gloss sheen.
You can find the full tutorial here: thediyplaybook.com/paint-interior-doors/
What is the material of this door?
Wood or some type of board?
It's a solid wood door
@@Thediyplaybook okk thanks.
Fridge? 🤔🤔🤔
Don't knock it till you tried it. It will last for months in the fridge.
@stubriggs5517 I gotta tell you? I will never try because I'm a painter and I paint every day, so i have no time to try it. But like you said, don't knock it til i Try it but I don't have time for that.
But the hinges don't match the handles 😅
This girl looks like sherry from modern family
