The confusion is understandable. The word "tishe" in Russian usually means "quieter", but sometimes can be used to do something slower or easily.
As someone who grew up around police, this is all very solid advice. Be respectful. If they have decided to arrest you, comply. You can always beat the charge, but not the ride. Again, be respectful. Being respectful is actually bad advice if police violate your rights and it happens all the time. If they do, do NOT respect them. There is no law that says respect for police is mandatory. But start recording with your camera on literally ALL police interactions, why? Because the camera is the objective witness that never lies!
Police: "Do you know why I pulled you over?" You: "NO SIR I DO NOT" They just want you to confess to something. Never ever give them anything, because if they pulled you over for 1 thing and you say something else, now you have 2 problems.
Not true. Two times that I’ve been pulled over. I have told him yes I know exactly why. It’s because I was speeding and one of the cops told me you’re the first person who’s told me the truth all day, so I’m gonna let you go. Another one gave me a warning since I was straightforward with him and told him that I didn’t stop all the way like I should have.
to each their own. i worked for a county in florida for many years and also as a DoD contractor in the middle east up until 2018. two years ago i moved to argentinia. 60% less cost of living, great food, no crime in the city i live in (oceanside). in 2 yrs. i think twice someone "stopped" by this referred to as in the US as like some "higher authority" that you have to explain yourself to like a kid to daddy or mommy. they were 21yoa's in park late night. never once have i heard of or seen a foreigner stopped (car or in person). every. (PS--and no i have never been arrested or a bad experience in the US).

There is nothing to be won on the street with police. The court system is the real adjudicator of all these matters. A real boss sits quietly as his lawyers tangle with prosecutors on his behalf.
Agree I've been pulled over a few times, just did the yes officer, no officer and got off with a warning every single time. A friend got pulled over and did the "haven't you got better things to do" got an immediate ticket. Just play them at their game.
My Father always told me: " never fight with the police, your teacher and any other authority, because you are always on the lost position". When He was younger He was a hooligan, used to fight mercilessly, but when I was born and then my 2 younger sisters, He changed His life. Yes, He had or could have many other different problems, but was and is still protecting us even if we are grown ups already.
The cops are the biggest street gang of any city. But the motivations of each cop are different. Some are do-gooders, some are legacy cops (granddad was a cop, dad was a cop, I'm a cop...), some are there because it's the fastest way to power over others and it's legal. Find out what you are dealing with, quickly, and do everything you can to NOT make yourself memorable.

THE absolute best thing to know about police interaction is this: if you have not committed a crime and they do not have RAS (reasonable, articulable suspicion) that you have committed a crime, then they have literally 0 power and authority over you. You dont have to tell them anything or even show them your ID, unless they pull u over. You also dont need to respect them. If they violate your rights then dont show the respect.

Another good piece of advice! Although I dont want to help or interact with authority it is rather funny when you question them. "Do you know why i have stopped you?" The ball is in your court. "No, why have you stopped me?" Now they have to answer you. Then you be silent and dont talk much if at all. It confuses. We have two eyes, ears and one mouth so use in that proportion
NEVER allow any human authority to intimidate you. Unless you are getting arrested on the spot, still...say nothing... don't resist. Everything will work itself out.
Be humble instead of arrogant. They crave control indeed but even more so respect and approval. Think of Jordan Belfort and how he fucked it all up for himself in the end. Arrogance kills.
The mob can be funny at times when you don’t have any business with them. I can tell you at least a good dozen of funny stories with the mob. I had a good Russian friend in Germany. He later had some interesting friends. The police was constantly after them because of stuff. One time they stopped their car and asked if something unlawful was in the trunk. The driver replied: nothing, just a kalashnikov. Needless to say that the car was almost took apart as a consequence (possession of automatic firearms is a mayor crime in Germany). I was also working at a gas station at one time and that friend asked me how much cash I regularly get during a shift. When I told him, he proposed a business plan. He would rob the gas station on my shift and I “forget” to deposit the cash in the safe so that he gets the maximum amount out of the robbery. Also I should wait 5 minutes before I ring the alarm. And when the cops arrive I should tell them I was under shock. Later we would split the money 50/50. Another time I was on a barbecue with some Ukrainians and there was a guy with cane corso, he told me that I look trustworthy and also proposed a business plan. Taking loans with stolen IDs. But it’s a total different thing to meet mid ranking mobsters or high ranking mobsters. One time I was at restaurant of a monster and they played poker at a table in the back. Never ever have I seen so much money on one single table. I was pretty young back then but I imagine it must have been at least something in the range of 20.000 dollars. And than the police raided that place 😂 I was underage and without ID. Good thing was the cops were mostly there to collect some money. The most frightening think was a sociopathic mobster who wanted me to try some Bosnian goat cheese at a table. As I learned later he was involved in some war crimes, but he was a mobster by profession. Anyways, I wasn’t like trying that cheese. But he looked me in the eyes and said: no, you have to try that cheese! And I felt as if a tiger stared me in the eyes…so I did tried the cheese 😂 But there’s nothing as despicable as pimps! Can you imagine I’ve never done any crime in my whole life except shoplifting a can of Coca Cola when I was seven or eight because a friend talked me into it (he became a pimp and heavy criminal later 😂). I believe it’s some sort of predisposition to become a criminal. And I always dreamed of becoming a cop. This world is a total mess.
