All of his comments are off base. Owned the car since 2012, after 4 years the only drawback is a stiffer than expected ride and some more road noise than I think is acceptable for a Lexus. Other than that, fit and finish is impeccable, materials are very good for the price point, and there hasn't been one mechanical issue (knock on wood). Front seat comfort is actually amazing, he is totally wrong it's one of the best things about the vehicle. The paint is incredible for this price of vehicle, it is amazingly lustrous and the headlamps turn heads especially at night. This size car should appeal to many people, in my opinion crossovers add unnecessary weight and hurt fuel economy, Americans need to learn how to live with smaller cars, 52mpg myself alone, little lower is #of passengers increases. Other than that it has been an amazing luxury experience and will look to the ESh as my next car because of the superb reliability.
@@RealWorldCarReviews Yes, it does: 16inch gives a lot more comfort over 17 inch. Also you can experiment with softer tyres. I drive my CT with Michelin, and they are very quiet!
Most of these reviewers are expecting LS460 L comfort and quietness. It's not that, but having owned one for over a year, 600 mile road trips are fine and the noise level inside is still probably quieter than 90% of most cars on the road. I weigh 200lbs and at 5'11 I'm comfortable. My brother is 6'3 and fits fine in the front. Anyone over 5'10 in the back will be cramped. I seldom have anyone in the back seat, so it's okay for me.
Looking at this in 2020 and still owning my 2011 since I got it brand new, I love it. I’m not the tallest guy so headroom is pretty decent and it feels zippy when I’m in the corners. And getting 30-40 mpg while I’m driving through those corners is a bonus. Only thing I wished they did was add a bit more power
@@thetechlibrarian so far it’s been great. Almost 65k miles and not a single problem unlike my 2018 Jeep that’s been to the dealer like 6 times for a software issue
It's awesome that you posted this! I am picking up a 2016 ct200h F-sport in a week (or it's at least getting delivered) I kept reading all these things that people are like this is a horrible car....etc. I LOVE hatch backs. And ever since this came out years ago I wanted one but could never afford a lexus. Now I have a RCF, and my wife has a NX. so lexus really is the brand we gravitate to. I'm happy that you still love it. Is it really that slow though? I mainly do highway driving so I am slightly concerned with it staying at around 65-70mph...
Obviously engine is same but for desgin and the bade yeh I would too, but I wish lexus made another 2 versions of this model, one is this one others could been a 2.0 petrol and 2.5 petrol and maybe even a 3.0 diesel with auto or manaul gearbox, but they didn't which is sad as I like this shape as I'm don't often like any of todays modren cars and their hedious deshins but I like these ones.
I LOVE this car. Looks awesome in person best looking little car ever. The people who says this is A Pruis knows nothing about cars and have never been in or driven this car. It drives nothing like a Pruis nor looks like one inside or out... doesnt even have the same build qauilty... wake up people.
This car used the hardware of the power train of Prius as a "material." However, an air intake and an exhaust system are establishment meters. Control software is also original. The reaction characteristic of the power train to an accelerator work differs from Prius. The fuel consumption in Normal and eco-mode improves from Prius. A chief engineer of this car, Mr. Sadakata, is a chief engineer of RX400h and LS600h, and CT200h is a premium car rightly.
They should offer this car in a non hybrid version. That could probably get this car down below 25 also it would have much more power. I would even take it with the 2.5L V6 in the IS250
Have a 2012 with 55000KM... the only complaints (besides power) i would have with the car is the weak clear coat on the paint (eco clear coat) and in winter, if you get stuck in high snow traction control will not allow you to break yourself free from it's restraint to try and get yourself out.... you'll have to be creative if you don't want to break the shovel. Besides that, it has been amazingly reliable (as expected) and the service offered by my dealer has been exemplary. Expect to pay premium for service... this is a Lexus.... Consumption is anywhere between 4.9L/100 to 7L/100 depending on season and drive modes.
Jay Soucy good points. Wax the car a few times a year. The paint is amazingly lustrous for the price point and should last for decades if cared for properly. Waxing should not be optional the clear coat needs to be maintained as well as the UV protection as with all cars. Later models include self healing paint but should always be waxed like every luxury vehicle should be cared for properly
@AznLexusMan it needed to be an affordable entry level luxary car not too hard on the wallet and for young buyers. Thats why its a hybrid. Take out that CVT and throw in a 6spd auto and it would be perfect
@manfer85225 It's just Lexus way to get Audi and BMW driving enthusiast customers in a "green" package. Lexus is trying to increase market share, because being the top US luxury car maker is not good enough according to them.
Please compare Lexus CT 200h 2011/12/13/14/15 with Honda Civic 2016 because the peoples know to buy a Brand new Honda civic or Used Lexus CT 200h is better then new Honda
***** Very different beasts.... CT is minded to be conservative... the IS (especially if you go in the F Sport) is much more refined. It is a large step up (both in price & comfort) and can't really be compared. I like my CT but the next car will be an IS more than likely.
Exactly. This car is total bullshit in terms of the numbers it relays and it won't be cheap to maintain. I see no way one could save either the environment or money in their wallet by purchasing this car. Might as well go with a used ES350 which are bland but drive good nonetheless and won't be expensive to maintain.
Looks cheap and the motto doesn't make sense. The dark side of green? Does that mean it's the one nobody will see sense no one will buy it? Take off the Lexus badge and then what do you have? An overpriced Prius with a new body and less fuel efficiency.

Hi. Do you think having smaller wheels and larger-sidewall tyres would help with the ride hardness and road noise?

A major issue is that the car is too low so front bumper scrapes are a problem as are scrapes on the bottom of the passenger door.

Same I wish they had this model shape in 2.5l petrol and 2.0 petrol would been nice having full petrol with either fully automatic or manual gearbox
Puts ‘energy smart road test’ on screen, shows car on drag strip /facepalm
It's using the Atkinson cycle instead of the Otto cycle to burn less fuel, and uses the electric engines to make up for the low torque.
lol i wish they made a CT350 :) that would be awesome

An entire review of a man shouting like it’s a 30 second car commercial. Really annoying!
They need to put the hybrid system from the camry. Gets similar MPG with 200 hp.
Steward Lie Wow!
JEEZUS!!! O_O that would probably even keep pace with an Audi TT RS!
Would’ve been a good buy if it offered ventilated seats like every other Lexus in this timeline 🤷♂️. It would make it more than just a fancy Prius.
The seats are super comfortable. Maybe not if you weigh 330lb…
IF lexus made a CT-F I WOULD buy 3!!! just get the chassis and make it a luxury hot-hatch!! PLEASE!
I'm guessing they didn't go for the true cowhide because it would be ironic to have a green car with animal product.
lol he took it to the drag strip
Looks like the rear end was stepped on by Godzilla.
Long distance comfort is what Luxury is all about? Get back in your Buick, grandpa.

98hp from a 1.8l engine is terrible a 1.2-1.4 could do tht easily
