My home town. I knew every inch of it. But I left 50 years ago for milder climates and yet I miss it still...
Do you ever visit? A lot changed, and when the division use to be to the river west vs east side it is now the divide between north and south. The southend as a stand alone city would be one of the safest in Canada and the north as a stand alone city one the the most violent cites in Canada. The river banks have many formal pathways and less monkey trails and the blue collar jobs are now welfare recipients and the white collar have homes in other cities. A major city of the haves and the have nots!
@@XxxXxx-fm3wo Thanks for the update. I feel privileged to have lived there in its golden days. It was wonderful. I live in Europe now after decades in the USA and to be honest I now revisit Wpg only in my memory.
My mother lives in Winnipeg and we’re excited to visit in the summer time ❤️❤️
Thanks for the time at the start
Great video!
Awesome
Looks like the walk is a Saturday or Sunday early in the day , definitely not Monday to Friday work day hours .
beautifule city
I love such site, so beautiful and very peaceful even when it's crowded, it looks like peaceful and with a nice weather....❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤Thanks for this video and this walking
you are very welcome! Thank you for watching
@@walkwithyemi Thank you 💖 too for this nice walking....
wonderful city. Someday I will live in this incredible place. I live in Brazil but I dream of living in Canada.
Don't race to move here. High crime and murder rate. Move to one of the small communities outside of Winnipeg. I wish I had. You won't regret it.
Hi, I am going to study in Winnipeg soon, can you tell me more about the crime rate? Where is the safest place to rent a house in Winnipeg? Thanks@@larrythompson5617
👌
Very nice/clear video. Panning speed excellent. -40c in the winter there!
You wouldn't know it has the highest murder rate per capita in Canada.
I knew it was the murder capital of Canada. I even mentioned it in my game.
That looks a lot cleaner than when I was there last week wow.
What a lonely place but I still miss it
I always hated the quiet desolate streets of downtown Winnipeg and left in 89 for the hustle and bustle of a bigger city but I will always have fond memories of growing up in The Peg.
Hi from Saudi Arabia,peace everyone🙂
You couldn't handle the extreme cold during the winter months. ;)
مرحبا انت عايش في مانيتوبا عندي ابني يدرس هناك
Im from Winnipeg
I graduated from the University of Manitoba in 1972. Left the following year for the tropics. I visited again in the late 70's...boy has it changed. I really didn't recognize the walk much except Parliament and historical landmarks. My wife still has family there, but I don't know if I'll get there again or not. I was newly married when I moved there to attend University and they were some of my best years of memorable relationships with family and great friends. It's too bad that with progress crime also increases. Good memories though and wonderful people.
"with progress crime also increases" is the most hilariously euphemistic and contradictory way of describing societal decline using newspeak
Did they clean it up rightbefore you walked through? I was left with a very different impression after last week.
I still dream of going to Manitoba 😢
You won't like our cold winters.
@@Colin12475 allow me to feel those winters 😀
@@willankhatter After four months of them, you'd change your tune, I'll bet.
@@Colin12475 good thing is I'd be on a visit visa and can leave the moment I get uncomfortable mate😀

Nice City
Красивый, спокойный город, на улице очень мало людей и машин 💖
даунтаун особенно спокойный и красивый, севернее portage ave
Where is the walk on Main St. between Logan Ave. and Higgins Ave.?
Started at Portage Avenue and main street, through downtown its about 2 hours walking.
I also uploaded part 2 and 3 you can watch it here ua-cam.com/video/fMTtlu7Wgtg/v-deo.html & ua-cam.com/video/JhkGn8DlDsw/v-deo.html
Thank you for watching!
It looks more crowded than Calgary
I remember leaving my apartment(NW end) to go downtown to Tokyo smoke to but some pre rolls to celebrate my moving in, I am walking down the street NW end just a shady place looking back but me I didn't think it was that bad at he time, I light up while walking the ghetto and texting my girl, she says "dont walk around its not safe!" que the worst green out ever I am now rethinking the past hour and end up walking right through the main street S trying to get back🤣I ditched the joint halfway through because I didn't wanna get robbed🤣🤣 I'm like "maybe I should throw the whole pack out, what if they stick me up, what if the police stop and ask if I'm lost oh no" and this and that lol, I finally came down near a small park somewhere in the SW, went and got a burger then made my way back, gotta love Winnie.
just be careful walking around after dark.
