Mines had some problem when I let it sat up for years, but I can say. When things break, get it fix. Then most of the time the problem should stop. It pretty much do what it is supposed to do. 2003 dodge durango R/T 5.9L magnum AWD (4HI/4Low). Going strong
This guy is so biased against Dodge smh. Like literally every Ram truck I’ve owned or my family has owned has surpassed any ford or Chevy I’ve owned🤦🏼♂️
If you want to listen to him he will tell you about the best and the worst from his view…..50 years of repairs. If you don’t want to listen, don’t. Simple.
I have had my 05 Ram 1500 for a long time, I've got almost 200k miles on it and it still runs great! My buddy has 2018 Chevy Silverado and it's been in the shop more often then he's driven it
Lol was about to say the same thing. IMHO I don't really agree with his cynical outlook on ram trucks, I have a Ford and a ram same age and the Ford has been given me problems beyond imagine. Everyone to their own
I have owned Chevy pickups and van, Ford truck, even a Studebaker truck and several different trucks in my 23 years in the military, and now I have Ram 1500 with 5.7 Hemi and 8 speed and it is more reliable and pulls a trailer better than any of the other vehicles. But I have only been driving 55 years. Guess if you take really good care of your vehicle it will last.
@Swampy Ram 1500s in late 2013 got a new transmission from a well known german company ZF. These transmissions are considerably better and more stout than the previous in house built 65rfe. If ur talking about the older 65rfe trans I'd agree with you. If you are talking about the ZF 8hp70...I'd have to severely disagree with you saying they arent good. I'm on my 3rd ram 1500. Had a 2013, 2015, now 2017. Had high miles on the 2013 and 2015. No trans problems. 2017 doesnt have enough miles yet to judge it but I know it has the 2nd generation of the ZF 8hp70. If ur referring to the 2500 and 3500 ram transmissions...those are still pretty stout and will hold up if well maintained. Standard diesel 2500 uses the 68rfe which has the same torque handling limit as the Aisin Transmission which you can now only get behind the high output diesel(1000 ft lbs) in the 3500. It has better gear ratios than the 68rfe.
It’s all about proper maintenance and no short cuts. I’ve had my Ram 1500 since mid 2013. Driven 125k miles in 7 years. Never had a problem! All maintenances done at the Ram dealership both in Canada and in the US! My truck ran perfect all the time! Absolutely no issues whatsoever. I live in Vancouver Canada. Drove it every where as my daily and long hauls as well. From Canada’s coast to coast and US coast to coast towing an RV! Through good roads and not so good ones, all weather conditions as well! Never got even a flat tire! Paid $41k CAN for it and just sold it last month for $25k! Why because I take very good care of my vehicles! It still looked like new! Just bought a 2019 Ram PW. And I’m really liking it and plan on doing as I have done for as long as I’ve owned my first vehicle, TAKE GREAT CARE OF IT! I do like Scotty’s channel and watch his videos all the time. The one thing that I disagree with Scotty is: all vehicles have issues, some more than others! But as long as you are like me “anal” about keeping my vehicles in as perfect condition as possible. With proper maintenance, replace with top quality parts, wash and wax and don’t abuse it and take the best care you can, it will take good care of you! i also own a 2018 Toyota 4Runner and of course, no troubles there and yet, proper regular maintenance is required and I have no troubles doing that. Sorry, I made a bit longer comment.😏
Bought my 2005 10 years ago with 50k miles. It's over 175k now and has had a few issues (water pump, fuel pump, exhaust manifold bolts broken) but all of these were relatively cheap to do myself. Maybe I just got a good one, I'll just keep it until it dies.
I bought my 1994 Dodge RAM about 26 years ago and he's still running strong, no problems. I have over 287,000 miles on it. Maybe I have one of the lucky ones. I love my Dodge Truck.
My grandpa has had the same 04 ram 2500 with the 5.7 hemi. Nothing has went wrong on it to this date, regular maintenance and it’s still buttery smooth. It’s still a great truck
I'm a technician at a independent shop in town we work on all domestics and imports, I fix maybe one Ram truck every month or two. Competitor trucks are daily especially GM trucks. First time i've seen one of this guys videos. Not sure what hes going on about.
I am friends with a couple Diesel mechanics. Both drove Rams for many years. Both got fed up with their problems. They had nothing but problems. Plus the trucks rotted away way too quick. Now both mechanics are Ford guys. They like Ford trucks the most. My one friend has a 2006 Ford F350 with the 6.0. It was 772,000 miles on it. He will hit 1 million miles. What it boils down to is the tweaks, the proper maintenance and knowing how to fix them. Once you know the big 3 like the back of your hand, 75% of the time the mechanics will choose Ford for reliability. Yes they are more technical to work on. But once you understand them, they are not bad at all.
set aside the usual hemi lifter issues Ram trucks are great. I have had four since 2008 and have never had one problem with them over many hundred thousand miles. Scotty is full of it on this one.
No Allison is Allison and Aisin is Aisin. 2 different transmissions for 2 different engines in 2 completely different vehicles. My God I thought people were stupid on Facebook now I'm starting to think UA-cam is even worse
well that was wrong. GM sold the most full size trucks last quarter, feel free to research it. they beat ford and ford beat dodge. don’t be ignorant, looks at facts
You do realize the delta between Ford and Dodge right? Ford F150 = 448,398 (2019) RAM = 299,480 (2019) so yes, Dodge is making some ground with their fancy interior however remember, Ford is out with a new F150 in 2020. BTW Dodge won't catch them this year or next
I work in the natural gas industry and have driven Rams, Fords, Toyota’s and Chevys and I see no difference between them. Not sure why Scotty is so down on the Ram. All four brands of trucks have had their break downs over the past few years none of them are really terrible. With all the parts sharing between companies nowadays I believe the big four truck makers have an average reliability across the board. I say buy what you like and don’t buy based on someone opinion because you will never allow yourself to be Truly happy.
I liked my company provided c3500. It rode nice and gave me about 5 hours a month of free time spent surfing the internet at the repair shop. My f450 was nice, but rarely broke down and my personal Toyota’s have been completely trouble free.
I work at an independent shop and everyday I’m actually fixing GM (gmc, Chevy, ect.) products I have seen lots of things wrongs with them, cheap stuff. Yet I have a ram 1500 and it’s been a blessing hauling parts and even engines in the back yet it runs fine. Love that truck 👍🏽👌🏽
JD Power: CHEVY TRUCK OF THE YEAR Motor Trend: RAM TRUCK OF THE YEAR Scotty Kilmer: FORD TRUCK OF THE YEAR Edit: Also Scotty Kilmer: TOYOTA OF THE CENTURY Because the comment said so
Maintenance is # 1 no matter what car you own. Scotty preaches it daily. Regular maintenance is vital. I've known a guy who had 400,000 miles on a Ford F-150 and another who had to have his transmission rebuilt at 100,000 miles but took very good care of his vehicles. Maybe its partially luck of the draw.
My 2014 ram big horn (not even close to being the highest package) with about 80k miles has not had a single problem in the 3 years I’ve owned it and I even bought it used. Rams aren’t dying, they’re actually competing heavily with the other big brands and growing in popularity much faster.
She probably ducks in real late at night when she gets back home also. Scotty has no time for her so she is seeing a guy with a RAM PICKUP, I bet Scotty suspects because she comes back home and she smells like the inside of the backseat of a new Ram Pickup lol.
I don’t doubt you, but man, the company I work for has a 2012 ram with the 4.7l. First the boss had it and put almost 100k miles on it. Now my crew leader has it. Now it lives a pretty rough life, but it’s been dead reliable. In 2 years he’s put about 50k miles and he not exactly easy on it, plus the bed I loaded down all day everyday. Ac blows cold, hot heat, starts right away and isles as smooth as silk. It a dog but she works
Agreed. I’ve had my 2011 1500 from brand new and I really didn’t take care of it like I should have. Box is staring to rust a lot cause I never oiled it, my own fault, I’ve only ever had to do brakes and a tranny oil pan!! Believe it or not lol.
As a former mechanic, I can say, yes, every brand has its issues and strengths. Has the quality of some brands gone down overall or in specific areas? Most certainly. But remember, Scotty sees things from a unique perspective...he works on this stuff. I think what he's really saying is something more like..."Yeah, the thing works but it's you know what to work on." If you just drive one of whatever, as long as it cranks and runs, you're probably happy with it. Truth is, most of us don't abuse our trucks and so even if they are built questionably we'll never realize it before we've sold it and moved on. I do agree with Scotty about all the awards...those are just PR garbage. If you ever buy a car because some magazine gave it the "Car of the Year" trophy, you're probably not the sharpest knife in the drawer.😎
LMAO! You're crazy Scotty but I love ya! I've had 4 Rams and they've all been great. One of them saved my life. Ram has outsold Chevrolet now so they must be doing something right. Ford is number one in selling due to the municipal contracts.
Got a friend who worked at as an auto tech. He's a smart guy who moved over to Snap On diagnostics. He says the same thing. Don't ever by two brands of vehicles. Dodge/Ram or VW
As a tech for dodge for 20 years and now sell them, after 2011 quality has improved significantly. My 1000hp hellcat has no issues with the zf8 speed. Even after 4 years of beating. The 68rfe behind our Cummins not Cummings.. slight loss of credibility there chief.. is not a zf trans, and works very well until you ramp up the power and cause slippage. The aisin 69rc behind the ho Cummins is bulletproof and bigger than the Alison 1000. The base of customers I retained after I became a salesman now get serviced at my home garage and lift. Most of which are previous gen trucks, 2 of which are hemi 2500 trucks with over 500,000 miles on them and obviously multiple Cummins trucks. Sure the occasional 20 dollar window switch, or 50 dollar ac control head, seat skin and foam after 10 years, no big deal. They change fluids and filters when I direct them to, and here they are with high mileage and still pulling loads.
HIMI2003 I know man, 100 percent true. I’ve been with Chrysler since I was doing pre delivery inspections on 300M’s!!! I will put my hemi ram or my 2500 Cummins up against anything in longevity, anything with the same power levels I run. My 1500 has 150 shot of nitrous and I’ve ran it in truck classes at the drag strip for the past 4 years and daily drive it. My Cummins is making around 500hp and happily pulling loads. Any company can make a car with 98 hp last a long time. It takes power to break things, but it also takes power to get the hauling and trailering and racing/fun done.
ridge GM and Ford both are crap now. I'm sorry ram is better in all aspects except fuel economy as far as modern trucks I've had all 3 and the ram to me is the best. To each it's own.
@@hurricane8634 that's why my brother has a 2019 5.0 and the motor is already out and the ford mechanic said they are having alot of issues right now. Just saying I love all 3 but I'm not going to ignore the obvious issues.
Watched the whole video and never heard any actual evidence to why they're so terrible,Chevy has electrical problems Ford has electrical problems I've seen ball joints break on those honestly everything he said one seen the competitors have the same problems
I had the ball joints fail on my 2012 Tacoma with only 80k miles on it. The design of the LBJ's on those Tacoma's is probably the worst I have ever seen on any vehicle. When they fail, they fail in spectacular, possibly deadly fashion. Ball joints is a wear and tear item, it's going to fail on every single vehicle sooner or later. Everyone raves about toyota, but the front end suspension design is just terrible. Ram definitely has a better designed front end.
Anyone who's actully worked at a non specific brand garage for a living will tell you with confidence that Dodge and Chevy trucks end up having issues far more frequently than a Ford or Toyota.
@@andrewmorgan5541 Dunno how accurate that statement is. My uncle has owned his own shop for something like 40 years. While I haven't specifically asked him "What truck do you see in here most" I do know that for as long as I can remember, he's always been behind the wheel of a Ram. I'll be sure to bring the topic up when I see the family at Christmas time, though.
I guess my 09 dodge ram Laramie was the last few strong truck. I have a lifetime powertrain warranty. I'm at 173,000 . Im the first owner So far no issues with: Transmission Engine Suspension Just your normal maintenance schedule. I follow the manual book and it still runs strong Idk what everyone else Is doing to their truck but Dammmm I have no issues with my ride like he talking about
I'm on my fifth Ram, a 2012 1500 4×4 with 120K, made in USA, and it keeps on going. Had an '83 LB standard cab 318ci 4WD, a '96 SB standard cab 5.9 2WD, an '03 1500 quad cab 4WD hemi, and an '04 quad cab 4WD 2500 hopped-up Cummins. Never an electrical issue, all motors and drivetrain solid and reliable, no AC problems, but yes, front ends are somewhat notorious for wear, and the tranny's have inherent needs such as my current valve body replacement, but other than that, just look for American made. Not sure about the current models but the HD just took MotorTrend truck of the year, I believe. I personally like all the big 3 makers, but just prefer the Ram for the engines, design, rugged body and chassis, and interior comfort and intuitive controls. And I'm a freak about maintenance, which is key.
My 05 Dodge Ram Hemi I bought new has never even had a check engine light. perfect truck for 15 years except for the usual wear items, tires, brakes etc.
I just bought a ram I'm the 5th owner . I haven't had a single issue besides my pully tensioner going out and sometimes my passenger side door doesnt lock but that's a switch. other than that the truck runs like butter. Got it about a month ago. Forgot to mention it's a 09 4.7 v8 quad cab
I enjoy watching Scotty’s videos. He is entertaining. However, I would appreciate if Scotty did a little better research before bashing Ram trucks. First, it was 2009 (not 2011) when they redesigned the body style, “separated” from the Dodge brand, and started calling themselves Ram trucks. Second, the diesel engine is not Cummings, it’s Cummins. It sounds to me like Scotty is stuck in the past, and is not the kind of guy that is open to technological advances and having technology in his trucks. Ram has the most technology available on the market currently. I would be willing to bet that Scotty has never owned a Ram truck himself and is biased towards Ford trucks, not based on facts, but based on his personal brand loyalty for whatever reason. I have owned all of the Big 3’s trucks. Chevy used to be good, but seems to have gone down hill in recent years(since they got rid of the 350 engine). Fords have always had issues, and the Ram trucks I own have been the best trucks I’ve ever driven. My 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 with the 5.9l diesel has almost 340,000 miles and is still running strong. My 2015 Ram 1500 has a little over 93,000 miles and the only thing I have had to do to it was buy a new battery and a set of tires. Still the best trucks I’ve owned to date. I believe part of it is making sure you maintain the vehicle properly. I do have issues with my work truck which is a 2018 Chevy. It has just over 67,000 miles on it and it will lose power and go into “limp mode” randomly. It will also shut off randomly whether driving or idling. Maybe I’m driving a lemon, but this is the worst truck I’ve ever driven. I had several Ford trucks in the past that were always breaking down for different reasons. This included one that ran rough and threw engine codes that apparently were not real, or were not the real issue. I spent several thousands of dollars on that truck trying to get it to run correctly, and eventually traded it for a Honda Accord.
I was a tech in the past for dodge, i ordered my truck based on what was good and what were issues on the new viechles. I did buy a new one from work, ordered it with a 5.9, manual trans, 4wd heavy duty with no frills. The automatics were being rebuilt as recieved from factory, they hemi were avg. 7 miles a gallon, cam shafts were failing, the electronics were crap, the a/c actually lasted but after were a pain to fix. Certain trucks had a brass heater core the others had a plastic and aluminium one. The plastic one failed alot, brass was changed just on request one time. The suspention was ok, bearings were a pain, the wiring nightmare! I still have 2 and i can fix mine. The other has a hemi drive as a spare only.
I do agree with scotty being biased im a gm guy i have a silverado and have had no problems. The biggest thing i have with dodge is the rust issue and the rubber bushing in the suspension my 05 magnum sounds like popcorn on country roads.
Not a single part failed, doing with my hemi on the hwy with 70 ml/h 27 ml/g. It is a awesome truck, love it. BUT let me say this You can damage every car,it is just a matter How do I drive it,if you drive it like you stole it yea it will brake sooner. My truck is a 2016 Laramie 5.7 all Bell's and wissles on it air ride site boxes 6.4 deck 8 inch screen it is just a fantastic car and lately named the most luxery car in the world (we still talking about a pick up ) 5 year bumper to bumper warranty, life time warranty for rust, you can't beat it
@@dutchman2506, i own 2 dodge trucks one diesel, other 5.7 hemi. The hemi i like but it is a pain to fix, expensive as well in that context. Its a truck that is used as a spare only. I tend to use my diesel more often, as its more efficent and more reliable "oil changes only". The hemi i bought for my gf a couple years ago to use while hers was in the shop. Just dont like the truck as it is not efficent, she loved it. 🤔. My favorite 2 trucks i had was my 96 dodge ram with a v 10, and my 04 cummins diesel pre egr. 07 and up are a pain and 10 up are a nightmare with that dpf crap. I was offered 20 k last year for my 04, for a truck that was 28k new in 04 as i worked for dodge. Not a bad resale value, lost 8 k in 15 years.
@@dutchman2506 i would hope not its a 2016 im running an 11 duramax and an 03 sierra the duramax doesnt have 300,000 yet the sierra is over 400,000 its a 1/2 ton with the vortec engine.
My family’s bought Dodge Rams, Dakotas and Rams since the 80s and haven’t had trouble getting over 300,000 miles out of them with maintenance, don’t neglect them or over modify them and they’ll hold up.
I generally enjoy watching Scotty, but I sometimes wonder if there is any vehicle he will not call crap. I have never personally had a Ram, but know several friends and family members that have had them and got good service out of them. Are they great? I don't know, but I doubt that there is much difference in quality or reliability between Ram/Ford/Chevrolet.
I have a 1998 1500 with 379000 miles on the ORIGINAL 5.9 and Automatic Transmission ! It's been a GREAT truck. My wife drives it daily ! I own 4 Dodge Trucks and a Dodge Falcon Campervan. And every one of them are still running great ! Dodge USED to build a GREAT Vehicle ! But around 2005 it all changed !
I bought a 2002 dodge ram and finally sold it in 2022. Ran great. Never any major issues. Best truck ever. Sold it after the bed started rusting and just bought 2020 dodge ram and love it. Not sure what scottys friends do to there rams to make them so terrible, must not do any regular maintance on them.
@@TheIamdevin its not a true Hemi V8 with these new Cafe laws it's a bastardized V8 with stupid cylinder deactivation technology that fails all the time... literally since they put it in Hemis and LS engines they dropped reliability considerably to the point where it's not how your lifter will fail it's when.. Plus some of these engines camshafts metallurgy is Crap, check that before backing up Chrysler dude i love LSX built cars but i will crap on GM and Chrysler for putting that tech in their V8s..
You'll have to excuse Scotty. He has to go on one of these anti-Chrysler rants every once in a while. I think he had a bad experience with a red 1958 Plymouth Fury when he was just a little kid. Most of what he says in his other videos is pretty much spot-on, though. I've watched most of them. They're lots of fun. And I can tell you I agree with about 99% of what he says. This is coming from a guy who got his first in NIASE(ASE now) certification in 1976. I'm getting ready to retire. Maybe I'll make some of these videos too They look like they'd be fun to do.
The only thing wrong with Dodge trucks is the rust protection, but that's really the fault of the owner. Any serious truck owner knows how to treat their trucks before the winter to prevent all that. Any Hemi after 2008 works just fine. The one in my 2009 300C has 190,000 miles on it with ZERO issues. Scotty has always hated Mopars. Sounds like a personal issue to me.
@@bradwick212 you also are aware most recalls are upto the manufacturer, and many companys are very good at pretending problems dont exist. That's how GMs ignition switches killed so many people.
maybe he should talk about the toyota recalls with paint problems and all the trucks and suv with rusted out frames, if i bought a truck that had frame rust problems i would never by one of their cars ever again
@@roybiggins3885 3 of them got me from 1979 to 2013.I had some small issues, and a catalytic converter on the 95, but otherwise pretty boring story. 650000 miles in total
@@kenlittle5706 awesome! I have an 04 durango which is basically a ram with back seats instead of a truck bed, running strong with 188000 miles. Mostly drive it in winter months. Also have a 90 celica with 372331 miles. Other than brakes and tires everything is still original even the clutch! I only asked about how long you've had your rams for because my brother has gone through 2 of them recently and there definitely seems to be some quality issues with the newer ones. Hope dodge goes back to making bullet proof trucks. I'd love to get a new one but not knowing if it will last for a while keeps me away.
I love my ram truck too has been great no mechanical or electrical problems have occurred yet in my first 34000 kms. I've had it for over a year majority of kms is highway mind you but I took a shot at going with the v6 engine they use in some of the rams over the hemi just because of personal finances and credit at the time and it's been super good I've been a bit rough on it many times and still holds up only issues I have is how cheap the cosmetic stuff tends to be but really it's all on how you take care of the things mine rides great and yes the Cummins are even better but dont just go buy a 1 ton Cummins cause scotty said so that's gonna cost you a lot more for the heavier truck if your not towing often I'd suggest trying out the 1500 eco diesels I see many people with them and they seem to be doing pretty good too
I drive around in my 2003 Dodge Dakota, and I see 2nd Gen Dakotas everywhere still. Mine has 160 K miles on it, and still runs like a champ. My Father owned an 01 Ram and it had close to 200,000 miles on it when he traded it in. Great pickup trucks. Worst issue in my Dakota was a radiator leak. No transmission or engine issues.
My 2003 Ram has been the best vehicle I’ve ever owned. First year of the Re-Hemi. It spent the first 13 years towing its max rating all summer. Just keep up on the maintenance. Maybe I just got lucky. heard it transmission was weak , but mines been great.
My Ram was made in Michigan but in this incident Scotty is full of crap and hasn't done any recent research and is just stuck in what he assumes. The ZF transmission is not offered in the Cummins diesel option as he mentions. Which btw the ZF8HP transmissions are great and is used from the Ram 1500 to the Hellcats and you don't hear about them breaking all the time. The 5.7 and 6.4 Hemi are great and of course the Cummins is the best diesel made period. I do agree the trucks before 2010 werent the best besides the engines but today they are pretty damn good. I have been following Scotty a long time and no matter what he isn't ever gonna think differently about anything. Toyota Ram and Ford make solid trucks and the only real turd nowadays in GM. Ram has gotten much better over the years and where GM used to make a great truck their quality keeps going downhill. I just keep laughing about him thinking the ZF is a trash transmission when these things hold a 797HP Hellcat Redeye with launch control no problem run after run after run.
Bought a new 2003 Ram 1500 back when there were less than 50 of them in Mesa Az. 16 years later and many oil changes, the old girl is still running strong with 150,000 miles on the clock. Quality is 50% subjective depending on how they were taken care of, like anything else. My Chevys ate transmissions like tic tacs, Ford robbed people with the Powerstroke and Groton plugs issues. IMO, Dodges had very simple issues compared to the others.
I would love to book an appt with Scotty when he turns 80 years old and sits on his porch. Just listening to him talk about how everything nowadays is crap.
His point of view on cars are if it’s reliable it’s a great car. Some people have the money and time to spend on a car that’s gives you a feeling when you drive them. Some people actually like to drive and arnt just worried about reliability.

The trucks make in Michigan are better correct
Hey Scotty. It's Cummins, not Cummings.
Scotty Kilmer: Excellent Video Scotty as always.
Scotty Kilmer Hey Scotty what about a manual Ram Cummins ??
Tell us how you really feel Scotty.
I’ve been driving a Ram since 2006. Same truck same engine same transmission. No issues at all. Still going strong 💪🏾
back than dodge was good after fiat bought chrylser it went down hill
The newer ones usually have problems with their electronics and transmissions
2003 Hemi still runs strong!
ME TOO!
And we bought an RV this year, Everywhere we have been RAM trucks outnumber Ford Chevy by not less than 5 to 1. FACT JACK !
I can't wait until Scotty does an episode on the Cybertruck! It's going to be hilarious!
I can imagine it'll just be him watching the unveiling and laughing. Not saying anything, just laughing
It will not get recalls but a total recall.

But I have only been driving 55 years. Guess if you take really good care of your vehicle it will last.
How many miles on it? Nothing matters until the warranty is up.
'Murica!
@Swampy
Ram 1500s in late 2013 got a new transmission from a well known german company ZF.
@@_E_B_ I guarantee Swampy is clueless to the ZF 8HP transmission, just like all the other ignoramuses.

Bought my 2005 10 years ago with 50k miles. It's over 175k now and has had a few issues (water pump, fuel pump, exhaust manifold bolts broken) but all of these were relatively cheap to do myself. Maybe I just got a good one, I'll just keep it until it dies.
My brother bought one and the engine blew out at 70,000

Sit in a old charger, then sit in a new. Looks so much better on the inside. The 300 and jeep grand Cherokee too. World of difference

BUT let me say this
You can damage every car,it is just a matter How do I drive it,if you drive it like you stole it yea it will brake sooner.
My truck is a 2016 Laramie 5.7 all Bell's and wissles on it air ride site boxes 6.4 deck 8 inch screen it is just a fantastic car and lately named the most luxery car in the world (we still talking about a pick up )
5 year bumper to bumper warranty, life time warranty for rust, you can't beat it
@@dutchman2506, i own 2 dodge trucks one diesel, other 5.7 hemi.
He Talks Highly About Grand Marquis/Crown Vics. Great Grandpa Cars As He Would Call It. LOL
I got a 2004 dodge ram 1500 and its still running gooooood
martin olivas 94. And still going
2007 ram 308,000 mi no problems, stock transmission runs great 💪
Mike Chavez 👍😁nearly 200000 on my 94
I've had Toyota trucks and I've had ram trucks. I've never had one of my Rams break in half at the frame.
My next truck will be a Dodge Ram with the Cummins diesel or a Toyota Tundra Double Cab\Crew Max 4×4! 👌
This video makes me wanna go buy a 2020 RAM truck
I just got one. Love it more everyday.
@@jizzyjake6783 same, I bought my 2020 Rebel three months ago and I absolutely love it. Already put 5,600 miles on it (oops lol)
I totally agree with you Scotty. I will not buy an Electric Mustang, hell no!
I've been turning wrenches for over 20 yrs now and there's 2 brands that I tell everyone to stay away from and that's VW and Chrysler.
There should be an award for fastest trip to the dump. In the modern age, there'd be some stiff competition for that one!
My grandfather still uses his 1991 Dodge Dakota. He hasn’t had any major problems on it. Well over 200k miles at this point.
Hop in my Chrysler it’s as big as a whale and it’s about to set sail
Love shack baby...
yeah even the song was 1989, and the car in the video is 20 years older than that, back when they made real cars,
Hop in my Chrysler, it's as big as a whale
And I'm about to say, "Hell!"
i think you got some competition with my RAM 1500 i just parked it in the ocean and its pretty much a submarine now!
It seats about twenty
So come on and bring your jukebox money.
Their quality is actually good, best interior and rude quality, and the Hemi is a good engine.
The hemi is a marketing gimmick
@@TheIamdevin its not a true Hemi V8 with these new Cafe laws it's a bastardized V8 with stupid cylinder deactivation technology that fails all the time... literally since they put it in Hemis and LS engines they dropped reliability considerably to the point where it's not how your lifter will fail it's when.. Plus some of these engines camshafts metallurgy is Crap, check that before backing up Chrysler dude i love LSX built cars but i will crap on GM and Chrysler for putting that tech in their V8s..
thevally so deactivate the mds if you believe that will help with reliability i already have mine off in my 5th gen ram lol
@@TheIamdevin I have a 2007 RAM, how can I deactivate it?

I have a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4, 123k never had a problem. Best truck ever!
Can’t wait for Scotty to talk about all the recalls Ford and Chevy have on their vehicles...
He never said Ford or Chevy is perfect. Pretty much all cars have some kind of issues. It's just that Chrysler has more issues than anyone else.
That's why he recommends Toyota
Ford has the most recalls of the 3
@@bradwick212 you also are aware most recalls are upto the manufacturer, and many companys are very good at pretending problems dont exist. That's how GMs ignition switches killed so many people.
maybe he should talk about the toyota recalls with paint problems and all the trucks and suv with rusted out frames, if i bought a truck that had frame rust problems i would never by one of their cars ever again
Ram has been doing great in sales the last few years!
Tony C. Yes your right
@@jerad4336 the cheapest truck by far, you get what you pay for.
@BIG HORN MGTOW Frontier is the best and can over lived them all lol
I've had 3, and they've been great. No disrespect to Scotty. Maybe I was just lucky for forty years in a row. LOL.
But did you drive each one for 10 to 12 years trouble free?
If you cant pronounce cummins right, u have no opinion.
No “g” in Cummins!!
rubicc he says it like “comings”
Swampy doubt it😂
He’s a gasser wrench turner, I give him a pass.
I like the old standard Dodge rams and they are great!
I’ll stick with my 96’ Tacoma which has no rust on the body. 250,000 miles and still drives great.
I watched 1 minute and 14 seconds and stopped. He is a Dodge hater. But this video is nothing but his way of getting clicks. And it is working.
Man...what a rant! Scotty has a real hard on for the rams.
I don’t think scottys canoe has moved in the 10 years he’s been making videos lol. Vines growing all over it
I think it is a small sailboat, but like you I have been watching nature reclaim it for quite some time!
Boats are moneypits
He has a boat?
"I'm your captain". - Scotty
I believe it's either a force 5 or laser sailboat. Small little racing dinghys from the 60s through 80s
I haven't experienced any of the problems Scotty describes. Both of my Ram trucks have been excellent. For now, I'll continue to buy Ram.
They still going strong 2 years later?
Remember when Tesla won some awards that they were the only car in the class for? It was like "Best 4 door electric performance sedan" or something.
I would love to book an appt with Scotty when he turns 80 years old and sits on his porch. Just listening to him talk about how everything nowadays is crap.
I believe Scotty is an old-time mechanic and all the new technology and the ram scares the crap out of him.
@@jamespeters6723 set in is old ways
Ram is rising as ford and Chevy are declining. Better mpg and better electronics as well
That's probably false. Nice try.
My 03 ram 2500 still running strong, I don’t understand what the hate is about
Love my 03 still running like a champ
Yes they look much nicer and have stuck with the nice motor, but I am considering upgrading to a diesel one day
I have a 2nd gen where the axle was overworked and failed. Other than the axle, it has been a good, tough off road truck. I love it
I grew up with Rams and got one been running strong for 20 years rams are good trucks powerful and strong
He doesn’t like Ram trucks then.
No, you are clearly mistaken, he loves RAM trucks ...
He doesnt like anything chrysler. He preaches to his non gearhead followers that act like they know everything.
His point of view on cars are if it’s reliable it’s a great car. Some people have the money and time to spend on a car that’s gives you a feeling when you drive them. Some people actually like to drive and arnt just worried about reliability.
Tony Scar chrysler is reliable though. The problem is people do not take car of their vehicles and maintain them.
Hell he dont like mopar at all
I will NEVER buy anything other than a ram in my life.
I drive a Ram truck and wouldn't drive anything else - I love it
I have all 3 in my fleet. 3 Ram 3500s, 2 GMC 3500s, and 2 Ford f350s. All have problems, but the Rams have far less.
