Volvo put its award-winning XC90’s powertrain into a new flagship sedan, the 2017 S90, which will compete with the BMW 5 Series, Audi A6, and Mercedes-Benz E-Class. Our reviewer found that even in L.A. it generated overwhelmingly positive feedback, especially around price. It’s got a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine boasting turbocharging and supercharging that makes 316 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. An 8-speed automatic transmission is standard, shifting perfectly to deliver power to each corner for exceptionally sure-footed, all-wheel-driven acceleration.
Is the S90 a luxury car? For the most part, yes. Aside from excessive road noise on certain types of pavement and some unbecoming ride stiffness (each of which could be a result of my tester's 20-inch wheels), the S90 delivers a smooth and supple ride. What about a sports sedan? To an unexpected degree, also yes, and likely thanks to that oversize rubber. Switch to Sport mode, use the manual shift gate, and you’ll be able to hustle this Volvo harder than you’d guess.

This review comes from Car Gurus which hosts patently false scam ads and does not take responsibility for filtering them out.
The S90 is the best car in its segment. The touch screen is the most intuitive in the industry. All the negative claims this guy makes about the S90 are highly subjective and incorrect.
The screen does not react to dry fingers. FALSE.
The screen washes out under direct sunlight. FALSE.
The screen picks up finger prints. Your hands are too greasy.
Go test drive the S90. You'll be charmed by its highly luxurious, library quiet interior, seats that belong in a $150,000 car, more than enough engine power, and modern, industry leading central screen. I know. I own one.
    Car Gurus has no credibility.

I own one too. I agree to every point you made. S90 combines luxury, comfort and style. All drawbacks that have been mentioned are not actually corect. Pilot assist works just fine if it does have a car that can be followed or very clear lanes. Even if screen is covered by finger prints cleaning it takes less than 10 seconds. Before I bought S90 I used to drive Audi A4 - and this Volvo is in completely another league.

I've found the infotainment system to be completely intuitive and useful. Maybe it's a generational issue. Also my pilot assist works without flaws. Love the car more than my BMW counterpart

Probably the most honest review of the Sensus display unit I've ever heard. Thanks for a thorough overall review!

Thank you for this review! It helped me make the decision and I just bought a fully loaded 2017 S90 T6 Inscription. For every function you would expect a button for, you can use the steering-wheel VOICE button and tell your car what you want to do. No searching around for the right button with your eyes off the road either (safer!) Want to lower the rear outward head rests? --just tell your Volvo to do it. Easy-peasy. There are two more options not on your tester: a split-pipe exhaust or a spoiler.

Another very well done vid, with good insights. Beautiful scenery I assume it was filmed in California.

Spot on Review especially in regards to the semi autonomous mode. Not ready for prime time. Other than that car rocks.

good product, but it's lacking that same pop or personality with what we see in the CT6 or the new Lexus LS.

    What's it's range in miles?

Go to Volvo's web pages for that answer. The T6 and T5 have different range.

Perfect mode and ralistic review. to my opinion it is good attempt to enter Executive segment and aesthetics is top notch. For some drivers it is good enough to look different from the crowd of so predictable "MERC" and "Beemer" cliche alternatives . BUT for refinement, driving pleasure, and iDrive alternative (to my opinion current iDrive is perfect balance between "touch and nob" generations) seems Volvo need time to mature - it is impossible to make a car perfect from first attempt and previous Volvo was different scale manufacture. Hope for the best in future for Volvo

Does anyone find that the engine drones rather loudly at idle?
