Warwick's voice has obviously changed over the years, and she's (wisely) adjusted her recent concert performances accordingly. This is the most voice I've seen her use in years, and it sounds like there's more of it left than lot of us had realized, even at 80+.
I could see the dionne of the 80s, tears in my eyes! to see an 82-year-old queen still with a sweet voice and reaching some notes that characterized her. I respect ♥️
It's so great because Dionne was one of Barry's idols. I have read this interview when he talked about being so intimated working by her knowing that she was quite tough in recordings. But, it ended to be one of his greatest music moments.
@@pusitexeBarry Manilow produced her "comeback" album, "Dionne", in 1979. Dionne Warwick recorded this song for that album to honor him for moving her to his record label, Arista, and helping to revive her career, which had stalled some during the mid to late 1970s. She came back stronger than ever and with a more contemporary sound. Her classics from the 1960s and early 1970s endure and laid the foundation. Her renewed sound and style helped propel her through the 1980s to the present. Barry and Dionne recorded a beautiful duet of The Bee Gees song "Run To Me" in 1985 as part of her "Friends" album.
I have wanted to hear her sing this song--one of my favorites of her entire catalog--live again for so many years, and now it has finally happened! The treatment is similar to her live performances from back when she recorded the song, full of passion and gusto. When was the last time any of us has heard so many sustained belts from her? Wow. However, what makes this version so poignant is the combination of strength and frailty in her voice. The lyrics hit harder now because there is an entire lifetime behind her. I bet there wasn't a dry eye in the house. Bravo, Dionne!
@@oldsoul_anth243Yes, it was high time for Dionne to get The Kennedy Center Honors. She was way overdue for it, I do not know what took so long. But, at least she got the award.
When did this come on? Did I miss Ms. Queen iconic Dionne? This honor has been well overdue!! She is my absolute favorite. Her voice is still the greatest, and she is the greatest!! Her voice and career have a well-deserved trillion lives❤.
They are in the presence of Pure iconic class❤❤❤!!! Can't hear a pin drop! Chills on how amazing Ms. Dionne at 82 can still powerfully and poignantly deliver a song🤗🤗🤗🤗. She is such an ethereal vocalist❤❤

Many thanks to Jennifer Hudson, she resurrected this song on her show when sang with Dionne Warwick, who has not sung live this song since the day it was recorded. ua-cam.com/video/s24VVNACm1E/v-deo.html
not exactly true. she sang it live in 80 at park west and raised the roof. she was casually indifferent about the song with jennifer but given the lyrics and the time it was recorded this was a song that was always special to her.
@@robertd2499Yes, it was Jennifer Hudson who revived "All The Time" on her syndicated daytime television and sang with her as a duet the song, or at least a part of it. Park West was done in 1979 when the song had first been done as part of her 1979 "Dionne" album. It had been performed in a January 17, 1981 episode of "Solid Gold" when she had first been host. That is on UA-cam as well. She performed it in concerts of that era and then it faded as her song repertoire had increased.
Barry wanted her to sing that particular song, because he's the best producer she has had since Bacharach. He knows what fits, and he knew it would fit.
That is correct. Her real first name is Marie, so she was, therefore, born Marie Dionne Warrick. During the 1970s, for awhile, she used an "e" on the end of "Dionne" on the advice of a numerologist, but went back to without that ending "e" when the intended results had not occurred.
¡Maravillosa Dionne Warwick!
Ms. Dionne Warwick personify class, elegance, and dignity as the legend beautifully sung.
You took those words from me

Better Late than Never. Dionne's as an honoree should have been selected decades ago.

Great Dionne Warwick and singing a song of her friend Barry Manilow.

I so love your comment. A combination of stregth and frailty is so accurate. This might be the reason why I enjoy her latter performances.
"The lyrics hit harder now because there is an entire lifetime behind her." Just made me cry. So, beautifully put. Thanks
So glad you enjoyed her performance so much. She is a treasure and your comment was very beautifully put as others have said.
Bravo, this hardly happens lately with Dionne, She nailed it and derseves a reward
Even the orchestra members had to applaud!! Luv it.
Still a masterful interpreter of song!
Finally seeing her as an honoree, Glad I grew up listening to Mom's music
Same. I am just so happy for her. She's long overdue but finally she's getting it. huhu

Her real name is Warrick but the record company made a mistake.

She knows that she did it well... hahahaha
We'll never see the likes of Dionne or Miss Diana Ross again.
