i like how noone realized the fortune is the baseline for automated cargo grids for the Arrastra by RSI, the output is clearly outside with the grid on both sides, and they look connected by a track. Arrastra has a external auto cargo grid system for its refineries too, 512 capacity, but theres been questions of how does it work. and now fortune will help with that

@@FriedChickin MY thoughts are the loss of the non grid cargo space. I can squeeze out another 12 boxes 13 if Im fast enough. not having that on the fortune is going to hurt how much/run I can make. unless the Fortune's grid can double stack.

@@vik12D why would they nerf the vulture? Explain??? Literally no reason to nerf it. It flies like a brick. Its hull hp is fair. It’s not fast at gathering rmc. And you have to leave to cockpit to move cargo around. It’s pretty fair already.
@FriedChickin Because that's what they've been doing for a while. Nerf the Vulture to make people buy the Fortune. If you already have a good ship, the Vulture, a lot of people won't buy the Fortune. CIG is all about ship sales.

MISC is the nex manufacturer that CIG will focus on, so this ship is a good clue at what older ships (Freelancer, Reliant?) may get a bit of a refresh o tweak. I love Hull A's interior, and the Starlancer MAX is pretty cool, so it exites me.
I like when ships used to have their own identities. The MISC Fortune is just a Prospector with the interior of a Guardian. I noticed this when the Hull C came out and was just recycled parts from other MISC ships, and then the Starlancer came out and did the same thing.
CIG wants first that each brand not ships has its own identity. Moreover, reusing assets is a very good thing regarding speed of ship production and updating old ships.

Well that kinda makes sense. When you're building a next iteration of a car you aint replacing every single component with a new one. That'll be a totally different car at this point. This works the same. They have their ship line and that line has its parts specific for that line. Like heavy cockpit or escape pods or thick armored windows and so on. That's what makes ship manufacturers different. If every single ship was something of its own design - you'd never be able to tell what manufacturer it belongs to at a glance.
People keep saying itll have 2x 13 scu buffer but this is very unlikely. The reclaimer has 2 filler stations and only 1x 270 scu buffer. This is likely the case for the fortune. We have no reason to believe it will get 2 separate buffers unlike the reclaimer. Just dont get your hopes up People. This is likely just a vulture adjacent not upgrade. Probably less capable honestly with less ability to store the boxes since there is no off grid space and 1 salvage head.
First of all, thank you for the first leak preview and the great explanations, I love it, I share your thoughts. As an industrial ship fan, I am of course interested in the small ship, but if this is light salvage. What is my Vulture then? It has double the intake/extraction tools, bigger cargo bay etc. not to mention the IR/EM signatures which are supposed to be very high on the Fortune in comparison thanks to the S2 components. Since i also own the prospector (Mole and Reclaimer too) i would like to test the little ship. but i don't think it can hold a candle to my vulture in function. but it looks nicer inside. i would never want to trade in my vulture (the yellow combine harvester), even if it has 20k less hull hp. If I understand correctly, the material sucked in is automatically pushed directly onto the two outer cargo grids? Of course, this would have the advantage that you can unload more quickly and also the advantage that access is easier for third parties in the event of damage or parking. In terms of price, I would put it at 125 dollars, the little MISC sister of the Vulture.
I feel like it will be 150$. But yeah, I’m going to have to wait before I make any other speculation about it. That’s why I didn’t go to in depth in this video because there’s too much unknown about the ship still.
@@FriedChickin You could also be right with 150-165 would be appropriate in the eyes of CIG. Since at first glance it looks far below the Vulture, 125 would be appropriate. With the Crusader Intrepit everyone would have guessed 40-50 dollars and nobody would have thought that it would be even more expensive than the titan, 65 was a bit high, but in the end it was in the hangar.
It is supposed to be the entry ship for salvage so the Vulture will surely be better on all aspects except price that should be Prospector level. And it should be rentable. It will have less cargo, slower salvage and will only munch small ships and panels. Vulture can munch medium ships and is optimized for a crew of two. Reclaimer can munch big ships.
Compared to the Vulture, there's not much SCU advantage but there is an S2 salvage laser, right? I think it would be better to have a cargo ship at its side... At least if it really works like that, the cargo pilot can sell the goods and it won't be declared stolen even though both are in a party.
The only way im getting this is if it can carry MUCH more than 39 scuin total. They said it was a mid size ship, i see something vulture sized.... maybe even smaller and with only one salvage head..... maybe is a new one much better than even the abrades..... we`ll see . There must be a real catch if they really want to sell this ship..... OH.... WAIT.... expect a vulture NERFING.... that`s how they will sell this thing.... the "Corsair maneuver".
@@juanecheyt I’m probably sure the big selling point of the ship is the automated cargo with the vulture. You have to get out of the driver seat and move the boxes around every once in a while so that’s what I’d expect. I’m picking it up mainly for content purposes
I love the Vulture, but as a MISC player I shall buy the Fortune and then see which I prefer.. I do hope to make a MISC fleet, so I shall probably keep a Fortune. When the medium salvage ship is built, I hope it is a Greycat or ARGO. Its good to have multiple manufacturers.
@@lancearn7332 I actually believe that this ship is more of a tech demo than anything else just because it’s introducing a whole new system and that is the automated systems for cargo distribution/ or w/e they have planned for it. on a ship you can’t find this type of tech anywhere else in the game
Hopefully automated loading and ease of access like a Hull A ... I'd be sold! I kinda hoped for it to have slightly more cargo capacity than a Vulture, since the grid is outside the ship, but we can't have it all I guess. 🙂
I’m assuming it’s going to function like the vulture where it’s going to have a maximum yield on the outside and then it also have a maximum yield on the internal side before it gets out more creeks so I’m already sold just because I love doing salvage
ease of access and Automation will be its selling points if true. but from the looks of things its going to be less profitable per run compared to the vulture. because you can hold 24-25 (if your quick and clever while ejecting) by utilizing the non grid space in the hold. It does not look like the Fortune has an accessible hold from outside judging by this video. and Im not sure Automation of emptying your buffer makes up the loss of a rough ballpark of 199,000 credits per run is worth it.

@ And im not saying thats a bad thing. just judging things from my perspective. and for me, with limited play time. a solo capable Ship that can Give be better returns on time investment is far more important then a ship with a Cargo Rack that loads itself. Honestly looking at the video it looks like you sill have to leave the pilot seat to trigger the buffer anyways and wait for it to empty. Besides moving it with a multitool while it does so and playing tetras with it, is more fun then just standing around waiting :)
Honestly this ship will be the vulture killer of you see it has 2! Not 1 but 2 of the processing panels of 13 scu each menaing it might have 26 of RMC processing unlike the vulture 13 and if the RMC comes out and auto attached to the grid this would kill the the vulture but of i have to EVA to go and manually attach the RMC to the grid than nvm haha

I didn’t go too far in debt on this video just because there’s still too much in the air to make anything concrete, but I cannot wait to actually fly this thing because salvage gameplay is one of my more favorable gameplay rules in the game

iv never been a fan of drake ships. the only one I own is the vulture just so I can play the selvage gameplay. This Misc Fortune is definitely nicer looking imo. It will probably replace my vulture once its available to buy in game.

@FriedChickin Yeah, exactly my thought. Really interested to see how much slower its gonna be in salvaging then the Vulture, but then the outside Cargo grid makes it easier for a buddy with a cargo ship to load up and make up for the lower capacity.

Im not sure automation is worth the loss of cargo space to maximize the profit on solo salvage runs

Then you can take the cargo and fill up your interior space via the rear entrance lift as this also has the same prospector style front entrance ladder... After you fill up your interior.. Then auto load the external cargo grids... Then you also have your buffer on top of that.... The only downside to this ship is like the other person said... Zero G loading and I doubt the rear lift has a cargo grid on it
the desing of this ship is sincerely to bad, there is no internal imaginary storage for scrap, For example, in the Vulture, the material you absorb goes to a fairly large area under the cabin where it is processed but in this ship??? where does the material go? There is no type of space, the ship is very thin and the entire hull is the cabin, where are those 13 scu stored?

That video makes me think that "open exterior" still opens all the interior doors between rooms and those covering components as well.

This is probably the entry ship for salvage than can be bought as a starter or be rented. It is also more compact to put in other ships.
