We have Allflex collars and have had cows hold to early strong heats but also have low level false heats at 3 week intervals after while already pregnant. You get all sorts of activity it’s always a bit of a gamble. Our 3rd full season oad, got 88% 3 week submission rate
The 90% goal in the two vidros I have just watcher yours and Single Tree Dairies BZ with 2500 herd . Same game bht both with systems to suit each set up. Thanks for sharing the details of your farm operation,. Did you win the Melbourne Cup sweepstake?
Same weather as me up northland last week. Early sunny mornings and overcast or drizzle well before lunch. Then clear skies at night 😂...thats a bad deal
I breed beef, my best and most consistent 13yr old cow calved 2 weeks early. Cleanings didnt pass for a couple of days and ended up with a prolapsed uterus. She must have stood on it or got it caught on something as I found it beside her and bleeding out. Needless to say I had to put her down. The very worst side of farming. We love our animals, that was a rough day.
Cloudy days and no sunshine isn't great for heats. We're about 50% submission on day 11 with no intervention. Its a balance. Your cows look in fantastic condition.
Is that where the cows are walking up the side of the road in the morning? That race has always been there so not really the long acre, and they don’t graze it as such. When I was younger I remember dad grazing the side of the road with cows and bulls 😂
Interesting about the sex semen, if it's only 50% conception, then why not use conventional for only a few less heifers, plus more cows milking earlier? Always a good watch thanks.👍
Why don’t you invest money into your cow shed over there like cup removers, in shed feeeding or tech like auto draft and computer, or those slid pulsators wouldn’t hardly exist any more
Don’t really need cup removers for the size of our shed. I have a feed pad and mixer wagon so better to buy bulk and mix myself. Nothing wrong with slide pulsators, bloody reliable. I’d say there’s still heaps around over here. Techs all nice but at the end of the day it also costs a lot too. A auto drafter would be neat but how can I justify spending 40k on something that doesn’t increase my cashflow. All valid points and when I extend the shed at some point I’d like to put cup removers in. Simples not always a bad thing
@TheOnceADayFarmer Yes. Don't ever get inshed feeding in a herringbone. I have it. I use it and I hate it 😂 Stick with feed pads and mixerwagons. I had herdhomes and a mixer wagon on the family farm. Geez I miss them
Fantastic views and the cows all looking so healthy. Hope all goes well with mating for you this year 👍🏻

must be a bit sad when a cow gets her collar taken off - we all go to the big abattoir in the sky one day I guess!
Whats the name of that mountain you pointed to
❤❤❤
Hi I like your video
Nice video fer sure.
Cheers mate, glad you enjoyed it 👍
Are the cows uncomfortable with once a day milking
No they adjust and get used to it
Feeding out on the long acre, isn’t that a bit risky nowadays!
