Really like these raw workout videos. Well done on a great session. 10 x 400 is a 5k classic interval set and pacing can be very hard. But you held it together despite that fast first rep. I always try and ease into this type of session and make the first couple of reps the slowest. Looking good for nailing a faster 5k on those results 👊
Thank you good sir! I wasn't sure how this one would work out. It is, as you say, a bit of a raw one, but I think it's important to share that this is how we get better and we all feel a little beat up at the end of these sessions. The first rep was a little fast but fortunately not so fast that we burned ourselves out too soon. We did adjust our recoveries where needed to make sure we could get through all 10 reps and got as much benefit out of the session as possible. Thanks for watching as always ❤
Loved this so much. The steam coming off you was a great indicator of the effort you was putting in. Cracking little course too. Well done to you both. I look forward to more of these sorts of videos, keep up the great work✊✊
Thank you Craig. I was definitely pushing through a couple of those reps but trying my best to make sure I could get to the end of the workout. 💪 I'd love to do some more of this stuff, and maybe even try and get some track work recorded too. Glad you enjoyed it.
You two were flying tonight, I used to do an 8 x 400 interval session with 45s recoveries but I’d be doing well if I hit 4:30/km which you did on almost every one. Just be careful not to overdo it😊I did the GMR in 2022😊
Thanks Andy! You are right and its important to stress that the pace was carefully balanced with our recovery times. We were taking between 2 and 3 minutes recovery between each rep on this one to enable those faster paces and really target VO2 improvement. If we halved the recovery to 45 seconds then I would imagine we'd be a lot closer to 5:00/km and I think that would target my lactate threshold more. We had no idea about the GMR in 2022 until all the runners got on the tram home with us with their medals on. Now look at us! 🤣
