It's cool you guys posted this reaction video tonight. I just finished reading the autopsy report for my sister. She passed away 6 months ago from an apparent Widowmaker heart attack. Anyways this reminded me of the time my sister and a few others from the family saw Eddie at the Jingle Bell Rock it was my sister's birthday. And we went to the meet and greet afterward and when she told Eddie it was her birthday he grabbed her by both of her hands and sang Happy Birthday to her. He also asked her if she was Irish and she replied yes and he proceeded to sing when Irish eyes are smiling. That made her birthday extremely special. So thanks for the reaction.

Don't know if you knew this, but this was Eddie's debut single in 1978. For your next one, I recommend "Maybe I'm a Fool", "Think I'm In Love", "I Wanna Go Back" or "The Love in Your Eyes". I would also suggest that you watch the first "Police Academy" movie... the lead character's name is Carey Mahoney (Mahoney is Eddie's real surname), who was reportedly named in honor of Eddie, who was a police officer at one point in his life. (Warning. "Police Academy" had a ton of sequels, which got less funny as the series went along. But the first one his hilarious.)
That is a great movie suggestion. It would be fun to see if it holds up.

I don't know. 2 was a miss, and 5 was meh, but 3 and 4 were pretty good. Wouldn't mind seeing them react to the Police Academy movies. I'm just not sure they're ready for them. :)

Man how I miss this one. He was fantastic live and a real and nice guy. His music is just fabulous. My dearly departed wife loved him so much. I believe she might have even dumped me for Eddie. R.i.p. to to Eddie and to my beloved Betty. 40 years of marriage.

Eddie was so much FUN, saw him 3 times, always a great show and once got to talk to him, he was holding court at his merchandise table after the show and quite the crowd gathered for stories and awesome rock banter. What a great time, we'll never forget him, RIP. 🎵🎤🎶

Hey! Loved your reaction. I would suggest and recommend the Eagles «Take it to the limit» live in 1977 where one of music’s most underrated voices Randy Meisner (the bassist) sings. It’s an incredible song and i would love for you to check it out! I would also recommend Big love by fleetwood mac live 1997! And scenes from an italian restaurant by Billy Joel. Love you guys

The background keyboard notes in the chorus is another one of the more memorable sounds from my early childhood. This was his very first hit (1978). I was 6 years old, getting ready to end my kindergarten year.
When I first heard this song back in 78, I thought Eddie Money was black not only due to his singing style but the backup singers as well. Since this was pre-MTV, I did not know what he looked like at the time- to me the sound is a throwback to 60s soul from the Stax-Volt label era.
The way Amber described his voice is spot on and I always thought that his voice sounds a lot like Rod Stewart
When I saw him in concert in the late eighties he said "This song made me a lot of money" before playing it. I imagine it did.

I love Eddie money. Rip. He opened the out door venue in my city every memorial weekend until he passed away. He felt like family. I absolutely love that you guy reacted to money. Please please please do. Cool cool water
I was lucky enough to have met Eddie back in the late 90's. He came over to a friend of ours and the four of us partied all night long. He was a very friendly person and we had a great time. I told him that no one would believe me when I said I partied with him so he gave me his credit card that had expired. I noticed that the name on the card was not Money but instead it was Mahoney. He explained it was his real name. I still have the credit card and the memory of a great time with him. Just thought I would share.
That's bad ass. I believe you. I heard he lived in the hills off Hwy 580 between Castro Valley and Livermore. Oh well. Thanks for the story.

RIP. Miss Ya. When I moved to Ohio, my boss was Eddie’s best friend. I was so fortunate to attend a very intimate concert, then have drinks and dinner. He was a great Man.

This was the song that introduced me to Eddie Money. I had that album as a 16 yr old and loved it.
When I was a kid Eddie would come to the horse race track about a mile from my house and play a concert for a local radio station (95-X). He did it for about 7 years in a row. We'd take our lawn chairs out, start a fire in the backyard and get a free Eddie Money concert along with fireworks. I've got fond memories of this music growing up.

A former NYPD officer makes good in the music industry! Take Me Home Tonight with Ronnie Spectre video was one of my favorites. I saw him in the late 80's as an opening group for a Cyndi Lauper performance. On of the best concerts I ever attended. R.I.P my man!

I remember being a young lad of the age of 13 in '77 and cassettes were the new thing.
So I started ditching the 8-tracks and the very first cassette that I bought was this one here. As such it is the worst sounding one in my over-400-cassette collection because I still have it and it's the one that's been played the most.
I bought two cassettes that day. The other one was George Carlin.

I saw Eddie Money at Winterland San Francisco when he toured promoting this album. He opened for Wishbone Ash and Robin Trower. Trower was amazing that night.
Baby Hold On starts with a simple, catchy guitar introduction by Jimmy Lyon. The song contains this similar riff, but builds in tempo as the song progresses. The lyrics alter the borrowed refrain "Whatever will be, will be/The future's NOT ours to see" from the Doris Day song "Que Sera, Sera (Whatever Will Be, Will Be)" written by Jay Livingston and Ray Evans to "Whatever will be, will be/the future IS ours to see". However, both Evans and Livingston filed a lawsuit against Money for not asking them beforehand for the use of their lyrics. The suit was settled out of court, with Money agreeing to pay for the damages. Half of the proceeds of the song now go to the estates of both Evans and Livingston.
