Their song “Making love out of nothing at all” is by far my fave….PLEASE PLEASE do that one as well!!!!!
I agree!! This is my favorite, too. Early high school came right back!
I'm there with you, they need to do this next.
It's not just my favorite by them, but it's also the song by them that I think Jay and Amber will like the most. I always try to keep their tastes in mind when I suggest a song to them.
💯💯
Great song!
The verse singer is Graham Russell and the chorus singer is Russell Hitchcock. You can't go wrong with anything they do. Russell Hitchcocks voice is amazing. I would recommend their song, "Making Love Out Of Nothing At All", which was written by Jim Steinman who wrote all of Meatloafs biggest hits.
LOVE LOVE LOVE Jim Steinman
My favorite! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
So right
Yes! We need that one!
kept on from being a number one song by total eclips of the heart written by jim steinman too.
They are a fantastic band. Their other hits include: Making Love Out of Nothing at all, Lost in Love, Even the Nights are Better, The One that You Love, Power of Love, Two Less Lonely People, Every Woman in the World, Without You, Now and Forever, and Sweet Dreams. You should give a listen to them.
Agreed I would love to see the reactions to those songs. I love air supply
My favorites from them are: 'Here I Am' and 'Come What May.' I guess I'm a sucker for ballads... Lol....
Don't forget "Goodbye"!
@@wampatan9 That's my favorite!
Oh, Lost in Love. Still love it!
I love this quote about musicians:
"We don't mourn a musician's death because we knew them, we mourn them because they helped us know ourselves."
Little River Band is another aussie band you should check out. "Lady", "Cool Change", "Take It Easy On Me" are a few of their big hits from back in the late 70s/early 80s.
Cool Change is one of my all time faves.
Yes, I always got Little River and Air Supply mixed up.
Yes yes yes !!!
Reminiscing!
I was thinking the same thing, and that Air Supply also makes me want to hear Ambrosia from the same time period. (And I'd add the Little River Band's "Reminiscing" to your song list.)
Air supply, REO Speedwagon, and Chicago have a whole lot of 80’s banger, power ballad, Amber sway music.
Oh man! REO Speedwagon is the best!
REO, Roll With The Changes! I wish they would react to it!
Reo speedwagon started in the 70's & Chicago started in the 60's.
Please. Never say “banger” with Air Supply. Don’t.
REO YESSS!!!
In this song, Russell Hitchcock held the final note for 16.2 seconds, which was the longest ever note held for a male pop singer. Russell held that title until 1983, when Freddy Curci of Sheriff held the final note of "When I'm with You" for 19.4 seconds (another excellent song, btw). Air Supply was the soundtrack of every 80's school dance, and most weddings, too. Like Amber, I'm a sucker for a power ballad.
Check out the note by mark Lowry and voctave Mary did you know
Wow!! I knew it was a long time, but I had never timed it!! Amazing. I’ve loved Air Supply forever.
please review this.

Air Supply Concert Lima - Perú 1993 Russell Hitchcock - Sweet Dreams 20 Seconds long note ( In Live ) Amazing!!
Legend has it, he's still holding it
The tall blonde is Graham Russell, he is English. The short with dark curly hair is Russell Hitchcock, and he is Australian, and he is the one with the big pipes. He can carry a tune forever. Perhaps that's why they named the band Air Supply. 🤔 My favorite songs from this group are "Now and Forever " and "Just As I Am". Hopefully, you can do a reaction to those two songs. By the way, you guys are awesome!
Oh man did they have a huge string of hits. Their greatest hits is full of buttery pop tracks. They were so huge that they actually became uncool like disco had. But eventually came full circle again and now they get some respect.
You are right. They were all over the radio and then vanished only to come back full circle.
Great description Slim. Every song they put out was a hit. Such an impressive catalog in a short time. Making Love Out of Nothing At All would be my next recommendation for a reaction.
Air Supply was Savage Garden before there was a Savage Garden! They paved the way. Huge fan favorites in the 80s!
Interesting description lol but valid
@@stevebrien1041 Lol I thought it was interesting too😂
I didn't know this was Air Supply! Wow, so many commercials, so many movies and TV shows...😂❤
Cannot go "wrong" with Air Supply
My favorite from them is; "Making love, out of nothing at all" 😁
Air Supply was the group in the eighties that dudes couldn't admit to their friends that they liked. But when they were alone in their car and this tune came on, they were belting out the words along to the song. Including me ! Great tune.
Dag man, caught me red handed. Couldn't help myself....
So it’s not just me?
My pops listened to it and he was a real man 6'4 240. I used to look at my friends and think damn getting whooped by your little dad's can't be that bad, I could take that
This and Lost in Love were both in this man’s top ten favorites of 1980
FACT!!!
The group brainstormed ideas for a name for their group. They wanted a name that expressed something like, "a breath of fresh air." Hence, Air Supply was born.
Air Supply topped the charts all through the 80s. They are still touring to this day. Saw them a few years ago. Still killing it. PLEASE DO THEIR SONG, SWEET DREAMS.
I Agree 100% with "SWEET DREAMS". Please Check It Out!
Awesome song❤❤❤
Their song Making Love ( Out of Nothing At All ) was written by Jim Steinman - the same man that wrote Total Eclipse of the Heart by Bonnie Tyler and the Bat of Hell albums by Meat Loaf.
What's weird about that for me was ,I was 18 and had a girlfriend at the time "Making Love" and "Total Eclipse" came out (1983),we both loved them, and I remember thinking at the time they were great songs but that they both were VERY similar.Hats off to Jim Steinman for his great songs, and Meat Loaf,Air Supply and Bonnie Tyler for recording them!
"Even the nights are better", "Every woman in the world" and "Making love out of nothing at all" please do these songs from them.
All of these yes
Lost in Love
Air Supply is my All time Favorite band! Some of the Best Vocalists in the business. They NEVER missed!❤️🔥🔥
He had a world record for holding a note for the longest time 16 seconds, growing up they were one of my favorites but as a teenager in the 70’s in never admitted it 😂
This kind of soft-rock OWNED the early 80s (but you knew that), and Air Supply was at the head of the line. ""Lost in Love", "Every Woman in the World", "The One That You Love", "Here I Am", "Sweet Dreams", "Even the Nights are Better", "Two Less Lonely People in the World", and "Making Love Out of Nothing at All" were all smash hits. The band was comprised of English-born singer-guitarist Graham Russell and Australian lead vocalist Russell HItchcock. They are still performing to this day.
you guys need to get air supply greatest hits and just listen to the whole thing. I wore out the cassette tape 3 times back in the 80s.LOL
Yes, you're so right about them still performing live! We saw them here in Vegas about 5 years ago and would go again! Every song they sing is a dream! 👍
Saw them twice in the early 2000's. Got to do a meet and greet once.
I use to put Air Supply on and just fall to sleep with them. I had some amazing dreams with fantastic a soundtrack !!
Awe Air Supply all those ballads...such a smooooooth sound. Don't tell my Metal people I like them. My favorite Air Supply song is "Making Love Out Of Nothing At All" need to do this song!!
I love them too… I know many a metal head that love the softer stuff from when we were kids. We have layers 😏
Everyone's favorite secret band is Air Supply.
@@nicoleb1581 Right, I think all of us hide it though...for some reason. The Again I like alot of different sounding music.
I'm a metalhead that also loves yacht rock and r&b.
@@Gutts31 I wonder how many Metal heads (me); have secret soft bands....me; Bee Gees, Journey, Air Supply, to name a few.
He was hitting that last note for 6 full bars!
They did an amazing song “Making Love out of Nothing at All” that’s written by the incomparable Jim Steinman.
I can almost guarantee that every teen from late 70's to early 80's has either cried while listening to an Air Supply, or had a make out session listening to an Air Supply song; but probably can relate to doing both!! This just makes me think of homecoming dances and prom 🤭🥰!
Finally some Air Supply !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LOL yes, Air supply. Two guys on stage singing love songs to each other. This is the band The back in the Day you would never admit to your friends that you liked but when you're in the car by yourself you're turning up their songs and singing along with it.
Air Supply hit the charts back in 1980. The first vocal is Graham Russell (writer of most of their songs.) He is from England. Russell Hitchcock is the one with the stellar tenor voice. He's from Australia, where the two met in a production of Jesus Christ Superstar. I've seen them in concert many times!
These guys were the romantic boy band of my middle school early high school days❤️ Be still my beating Heart 💗 ahhhh! Try Out of Nothing All, In My Sweet Dream and Even the Nights are Better
Kind of dating myself, but this song was staple at the roller rink, when they did the slow couples skate.
I shed a river of tears to this song over an ex. Thank the good Lord that he knows better than we do what we need and it's not always what we want.
The 1980's started with a dominant run by Air Supply
7 straight Top 5 singles.
This was their second hit in the U.S., reaching #2 in 1980.
Air Supply. Straight Love. ♥️ 🔥
They are a duo consisting of English guitarist Graham Russel and Australian singer Russell Hitchcock.
If you are soft rock fans, this is the band to dive into.
Dang, I was thinking he played guitar 🎸 left handed because he was from the southern hemisphere (like the toilets flush counter clockwise). But wrong one 😂
Listen to Little River Band
The ex loved these guys. My favorite story is Russel Hitchcock falling off the stage and breaking his arm reaching for a rose brought down by some 14 year old girl. I'm all out stage, I'm falling onto you, I knew you were young so I tried not to tooooouch.
4:19 Yep that's Air Supply face, we're right there with you J. "Making Love (Out of Nothing at All)" is a must!
Making Love Out of Nothing at all - is their finest. Any Jim Steinman song is gold.
You failed to mention the symphony behind the voices in this song… that’s what makes it great in my opinion! I’m enjoying your reactions to all these. Songs I loved while growing up in the 70/80s. Keep going 😎
Fun Funny fact: the Air Supply song "Two Less Lonely People" has often been used during hockey games when two players from the visiting team are in the penalty box at the same time!
OMG!!! YOU FINALLY FOUND AIR SUPPLY!!!
THE BEST MALE VOICE OF THE 80S WITH AMAZING CONTROL
Are you sure it's not Lou Gramm from Foreigner?
Nah, Steve Perry. Not even close in my humble opinion.
You all know that Freddie Mercury was around in the 80s, right? Everyone else was playing for second place.
LOL these are all incredible voices.
Might as well throw in Paul Rogers while we're at it.
That last note broke the record for longest held note ever recorded up till then.
The group we could not help but enjoy
Wasn't a big Air Supply fan back then. However, this one and "Lost In Love" hit a sweet spot for me.
The song here, has an "ache" in the melody that I always enjoyed...
Same here with "Lost in Love." That one is my favorite.
You nailed it. It’s an “ache”.
@@breckrichardson390 ~ It's a good tune. I liked "LIL" the first time I heard it in 1980. As well as this one they listened to today.
But all the other music Air Supply did sounded the same to me. I lost interest after "All Out Of Love"...
@@bkmur4713 ~ 👍You can feel it while listening...
@@Spo-Dee-O-Dee ~ True. Bands I enjoyed the most had variety in their music. But that's just me...
Couldn’t click fast enough. This song is so beautiful ♥️♥️♥️
Air Supply was the love song band of 80's. If you want to hear a note being held from 1976 to 2001..... listen to "Weekend in New England" by Barry Manilow
Prom slow dance music lol
Wife and I watched them in concert a few years ago at the County Fair in NY. The lead singer came down and walked among the seated viewers and shook my wife's hand.. She was in 7th Heaven for two days after that..lol
Saw this on your patreon and I was like yes! Air Supply has a lot of great ballads. Check out “Making Love Out Of Nothing At All” led by Russell Hitchcock, who is the one with the higher voice (tenor).
Man, I LOVE Air Supply!!! They took the power ballad & ran with it. 😌 I've always wondered why they cut out a few measures in the beginning of the video. It doesn't save much time, and cuts out some great strings. Ah well. This is my favorite song of theirs. This is DEFINITELY a rabbit hole you want to go down. "Making Love Out Of Nothing At All," "Every Woman In The World," "Here I Am (Just When I Thought I Was Over You)," "Sweet Dreams" and "Even The Nights Are Better" are essential!!! I guess I should include their only #1 hit in the USA, "The One That You Love." You will LOVE his voice at the end.
MY friends this is another Australian band from the 80's , They also Sing The Power Of Love before Celine but switched the words To You
You can't go wrong with Air Supply. Here I Am, The One you love and so on and so on
Such a huge fan of Air Supply. Great reaction!
This is so exciting! Air Supply is a family favorite here! Such incredible talent and horribly underrated. Amazing ballads all around. If you want another great one, Making Love Out Of Nothing At All is an anthem.
Lol....Styx fan, by chance? They'll be here Tuesday.
@@mofrogirl5356 maybe a little bit 🤣. Awesome!
In the late 70's these guys cranked out #1 songs. All adult contemporary love songs.
I’m so glad you came across Air Supply. Their voices were their instruments. Please listen to more of their songs. My favorite was Chance.
Ohhhh, you’ve taken me back to junior high school dances. Talk about puppy love!
Awww yeah one of my guilty pleasures, Air Supply!
Air Supply is the ULTIMATE 80s "make out" music
The man who sings the chorus is the real talent. Yhe shorter man. Someone special.
I love this Band. I'm a sucker for romantic music and Air Supply has been my go to guys for easy listening music. Great pic guys.
I just saw these guys in concert a couple years ago. Friends of ours won tickets & they invited us. I really didn’t want to go. They aren’t really my bag, but we figured it was a night out.
I must admit, we had fun. I thought they were like a 2 hit wonder, but shockingly they had tons of hits. Hahaha!!
Too funny 😂
Air Supply is great. Could you imagine that this was the type of music on top 40 back in the day. Awesome!
Air Supply were absolute masters of the romantic pop melody.
Finally you get into Air supply.. you will definitely like them many great hits. MAKING LOVE OUT OF NOTHING AT ALL
The Hollies song, He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother is a very moving song.
Air supply! They were the band that sang romantic songs in the 80s. I love all their songs. You really can’t go wrong with any of their songs. One of my favorite song is called here I am. Great reaction!
Out of Air Supply’s first ten Top 40 hits on the US charts, eight of them made the Top 5. All of them were ballads.
Memories!!!😃haha!
You guys are so right, there is no one else with a comparable voice to Russell Hitchcock. Air Supply has a phenomenal catalog that includes a "Making Love Out Of Nothing At All" by Jim Steinman. that is the next one you should react to.
Yes, please.
Throwing full support behind wanting them to react to "Making Love Out Of Nothing At All."
Yes i love making love out of nothing at all . Great song
A Steinman masterpiece.
@@topherwhite370 air supply just
Air Supply is one of the top “Soft Rock” bands of the 70s. They have so any hits from then. Great pick!
The drastic difference in their voices is what makes it so special. Just a fantastic group.
"Making Love Out of Nothing at All" I think is their biggest hit. And I think showcases their vocals the best.
Air supply great catalog
Your faces when he held that note, though 😅.
“Making Love Out Of Nothing At All” is by far my favorite song by Air Supply.
What a voice…check out there Jim Steinman version of Making Love out of Nothing at All
Yes Yes Yes Finally Air Supply ❤️
Air Supply back in the day was the equivalent of The Bee Gees and Metallica. In their peak, you couldn’t turn on the radio without hearing them. They’re music may not be for everyone, but for those of us who grew up with them, there are few bands who can equal them.
When we go on vacation we play Air Supply’s greatest hits and sing the parts. This was the music we fell in and out of love to. Keep bringing the old stuff.
Russel Hichcock - amazing tenor voice. Kinda similar to Dennis DeYoung of Styx.
"The One That You Love" was my favorite by this group. My grandmother had just died, and somehow it brings memories of her, even though the words have no real relevance there.
I guess the relevance was in the lyrics, "here I am, the one that you love, asking for another day."
Love Air Supply! Making Love Out Of Nothing At All is another awesome song by this fantastic group.
The group that brought my best friend and I together in elementary school together 42 years ago. 👀🙈🥰
These guys are STILL touring!
Air Supply was for the 80s what the Carpenters was for the 70s, smooth middle of the road pop/rock and a slew of top 10 hits in the early 80s
Russell Hitchcock is one of the most underrated singers ever.
And Graham R. Had a great voice too.
Aside from range, there's a quality in his voice...a sharpness, kind of like an Irish tenor. Reminds me a bit of Dennis DeYoung.
@@bossfan49 Russel is better. No comparasion
Air Supply is “Easy Listening” at it’s best. I grew up with this always playing from mom’s radio, along with Eagles, Billy Joel, Jim Croce… brings back great memories.
I remember Casey Kasem on America's Top 40 back in the 70's saying that was the longest held note in pop music history; 16.2 seconds.
Air Supply is an Australian-English soft rock duo group who were big in the 80's. They had a lot of great songs such as "Lost In Love", "Every Woman In The World", "All Out Of Love", "Here I Am (Just When I Thought I Was Over You)", "Sweet Dreams", "I'll Never Get Enough Of You", "Even The Nights Are Better", "Young Love", "Two Less Lonely People In The World", "Making Love Out Of Nothing At All", "Just As I Am" etc.
Every song by Air Supply is beautiful, and their voices harmonize beautifully! Very mellow music from this band, easy listening, perfect for lovers! ♥️♥️ Yes, I’m still hearing that note too!
♥️The old white woman
Air Supply was great in the ‘80’s. They seemed to do nothing but love songs but everybody loved them. Comedians would joke that when you broke up with your girlfriend it was always “Air Supply Weekend “ on the radio.
My mom was in her forties. She and her friends were absolutely obsessed! I was in my 20s. I remember my mom and her friends going to a concert at MSG in NY and coming home with a signed picture of the band! She looked like a teenager for that one night.
Little River Band - Cool change 👌🏼
Loved this band !! Great memories!!!
When you opened an encyclopedia when this came out and looked up soft rock, you found "air supply". They were huge for this genre!
Lost in Love is another one of Air Supply’s best. Definitely listen to Little River Bands “Lady” used to be my favorite.
This band had so many hits in the 80s. You have to check out their catalog.
This group was EVERYTHING in the early 80's! Oh my gosh, I saw them in concert, they were fantastic...I mean FANTASTIC!! I absolutely LOVE Air Supply!!
So under-rated! Please do more from them
One of my favorites are "Sweet Dreams", "Even The Nights are Better" and "Lost in Love"
But there are so many more!
Thanks for giving them a listen!
Air Supply had the ultimate slow songs that played at every school dance and skating rink.
I just saw Air Supply in concert about a month ago. Russell Hitchcock's voice seems like it hasn't changed a bit. They still sound amazing.
Nice reaction! These guys can sing! "Making Love Out of Nothing at All" is a great song, written by Jim Steinman who wrote for Meatloaf- a must listen.
The kings of 70-80s soft rock
Graham Russel on guitar from England
Russel Hitchcock on vocal from Australia
They had a ton of hits
But us rockers would never be caught listening to them
Now that we are older they have become appreciated
"Take a breath, brother" -- That's Russel Hitchcock. Glad you are starting down the Air Supply rabbit hole.
The best love ballads ever come from the 80's..!! We had it all .. metal, rock, pop, ballads, big hair bands... the lollipop bands.. best time to have been young and alive. !!
