- A new discovery could bring a new kind of mining to cabin country. Geologists are reporting a massive discovery of manganese in the town of Emily. WCCO's Jonah Kaplan takes us there to see what's at stake.

@PK-uk3gh I'm sure the regulations and procedures will be strictly watched and enforced given how the current government and DNR have been acting towards other projects. This is not the late 1800's taconite mining in the Iron range. Mining has come a long ways especially indeveloped countries like the USA where these regulations are strict.
@@BillTheTractorMan that area is predominantly tourism for fishing and hunting . The whole state doesn’t have to be a commercial operation with the ills that come with it

This guy who says he’s worried about water quality has a rip rapped shoreline and a chemical lawn right up to the lake edge. Doesn’t look like he cares about water quality to me
