I'm so sick of big business cooperations having a complete disregard to both our environment and the detrimental impacts on humans. Whether is oil, leaking fuel tanks, or nitrates from mountains of chicken poop, we need to hold these companies accountable for the damage they cause to our health. No more loop holes excluding them from safe and sound practice's

Who needs food, who needs milk, cheese, beef, chicken, or eggs. Who needs business polluting milk that contains 3% protein that may put out a little bit of nitrates, which I doubt. You guys are so brain dead, this is BS. That pond is so tight, the fat in the milk will seal it batter anything else out there. 25% of dairy product come from DFA, it would be impossible to boycott.

I worked at a dairy processing plant many years ago. Milk came in and was packaged. Sometimes it did not sell by the date stamped on the package. We had to manually empty all the containers. We put them in old 5 gallon milk containers. Those would then be taken to a hog farm and fed to the pigs. A much healthier way of getting rid of spoiled milk.

Hi Patric - When we received a residential complaint in July, we ceased utilizing the agricultural field in Beaver County for these activities and sought alternative options.
Most recently, this includes sending the milk to an anaerobic digester that utilizes food waste in Salt Lake City to generate renewable energy.
We are committed to being good stewards of the environment as members of the community and will continue to work with the state and our neighbors to rectify this situation.

There probably isn't. Unfortunate reality of farming is that excess often isn't rewarded. There's always a need for good food (maybe not here or in your/my community, but in other parts of the world or in poorer areas), but the issue is putting out too much can bottom out the price for milk, leaving it unprofitable to make. Basically price drops where it can't cover itself, because on average, people don't drink *that* much milk. You have limited intake of a perishable good. What would've been nice is if for the milk, right before its sell by date, they donated it to shelters or poor communities. That's something they need more than the expired crud-in-a-can that most households donate. Instead they decided it was more profitable, or just easier, to dump it like a bad Captain Planet villain.

Exactly! We had a local dairy farmer who was putting extra milk each day ( which varied of course), and he had a note ON the fridge “ not for human consumption”( because the laws make them process the actual beneficial ingredients out of milk, so they can artificially put it back in). Someone turned him in, and shut him down. Sadly, most of us who bought the milk, used it to make buttermilk, and for cooking! We can no longer get good tasting milk , all because the dairy farmer was “ told on” by someone acting like a two year old. We had our OWN milk cows for family drinking and cooking use growing up, and I can assure you, we were way more healthy than people are today.
What are the dairy farmers supposed to do with the waste, or as I call it leftover milk( which is nothing more than excess milk a tanker can’t hold).
Only two options, let communities use it ( of their own free will and risk), or dump it on the ground! You can’t have the laws go both ways! It won’t work!

@@caticornevaline9586 As a matter of fact, I am aware, but this is different. And the fact that the reporter and the "authorities", are NOT asking the most important and obvious questions of "WHY" this is being done and "WHO" is responsible, and then demanding answers, is not only a dereliction of duty, it shows possible collusion, i.e. advertising dollars and political corruption. This is demonstrated by their reluctance to actually investigate, find the truth, and report the truth to the taxpaying citizenry of this country, who subsidize the farming industry. Instead they just accept some word salad, form letter from D.F.A. and believe their job is done.
So, how deep does this actually go....
      - Who actually owns/controls Dairy Farmers of America?
      - What is their political agenda?
      - Who authorized this, who is accountable?
      - Why are they NOT answering questions and being held accountable?
      - Is the FDA involved?
      - Are those that are responsible being bribed, threatened, or blackmailed?
      - Why is a perfectly good product being dumped and destroyed in an illegal manner? Leading to dairy shortages and exorbitant prices.
      - Why are our tax dollars being wasted?
      - Why is the DFA not being made to pay back the tax dollars they received?
      - Why are the people in that area now living in toxic conditions, with the possibility of contaminated ground water?
      - Who is going to clean it up, when will it be cleaned up, and who is going to pay for it?
      - Why did it take so long for this to be addressed?
This isn't just happening with the dairy and farming industry. This is happening across ALL industries and in MANY countries.
One of the biggest problems in this country and many others, is ACCOUNTABILITY. Not only on a personal level but especially on the corporate level. They never have to answer for, or be held responsible for anything because of deep rooted Corruption. And when they are "held accountable", it's a farce, just for show. They get before some committee, lie through their teeth, and maybe have to pay some small fine and that's it.
      THIS MUST END, NOW!!
I am tired of our citizenry and country being used as an endless ATM!! If we want it to stop we must stand up, demand answers, and prosecute those responsible to the fullest extent of the law, regardless of what country they are in or from. We need more people on the inside, honest people with ethics, morals, and values to stand up and tell the truth. If we don't hold those responsible to account, and demonstrate that there are severe ramifications for their actions and decisions, it will never end and they will keep doing what they are doing.

Not necessarily. Almost all regulations primarily benefit giant corporate conglomerates and strangle small family businesses that would never have the means nor the inclination to dump thousands of gallons of their only commodity. This is almost certainly a case of a giant corporation partnered with lobbied politicians that used regulations to snuff out any and all competitors and has now monopolized all of the milk processing in the entire region; resulting in a massive surplus of an extremely perishable item. Hence the dumping. I’d rethink who you believe politically if I were you.
