What makes TT uncumparable, is the whole package. - the races-the people- the athmosphere on, and off the races- the effort to get 2 ferries corresponding when travelling from Holland-the shock wave when close to the track, as a bike passes-riding the track-AND THE BEER
I've been wanting to come to the TT ever since I was 15 years old and I'm 40 now and unfortunately I have just never been able to make enough money to come but i am a true die hard fan. Hopefully one day I'll make enough
It’s not as bad as you might think if you can get 3-4 people in a car to spilt the ferry and most campsites aren’t overly priced. Look at booking just before this years TT for the year after. I went in 2015 and going back this year you’ll never regret going only not
Go over as a foot passenger, camp for however long you want, and use the bus on a visitors pass to get around. Cheapest way to do it, and loads of fun!
Seconded. I was living in Florida and it absolutely made my summer that there was loads of content in addition to “live” coverage of practise as well as the actual races. Because it’s recorded live and unedited, you can revisit it and you’ve got that “live” feeling. I was five hours behind the clock time on the island, so an evening practise live in U.K. be early afternoon for me. It’s an absolute treat, watching every scrap of content, whether live for racing, or prerecorded & made available as soon as they’re done. I’ve no shares in the TT, but I regard it as the best small spend I made each year (I think this is only the second year they’ve done the TT+ thing online?)
That’s part of what keeps this event, so special, I wouldn’t want to see any more people there. The intimacy, and being able to be so close to the action is what makes it great.
Good on ya mate. You’ll love it, it’s incredible. Pick a spot you really wanna watch from, and get there very early. All the best spots are rammed. Take a rucksack with a days supplies in it and you’ll be fine. Oh, and a radio! There’s nothing worse than being stuck somewhere with no idea what’s going on, especially if a race is delayed. 👍🏻
You’re so welcome! But did you know you can get them 2 days earlier on TT+? Episodes are released on Mondays here: ttplus.iomttraces.com/videos/s1-ep5-the-festival 👀
Hi guys I love the TT however it’s not easy to get accommodation and something needs to be done. Last June I booked a whole house and paid for it plus ferry etc. 2 weeks ago my host cancelled I can not get any accommodation anywhere. Also lost my money on the ferry as they won’t let you cancel for the TT. As I now live in Spain I lost the ferry fee from Santander to UK. I think much more investment in infrastructure needs to be made to grow this fabulous event.
Yes it surprised me when in the video they talk about getting more people there. Ive been 8 times in recent yrs and it is rammed everywhere! if youre under 6ft tall its hard to see any bikes during the race. As you say the infrastructure is not able to take more, even the people that already want to go! 🤘
Yep that's the steam packet for ya mate robbing bastards.. Have two weeks in Florida you can pretty much guaranty the weather and be much, much, much cheaper... 🤘Keep rocking. 👍😁
I'm coming home to watch the TTRACERS this year and I'm like a big kid already, I still remember earlier morning practice walking to school and all the can smell is castrol R oil, I think Michael Dunlop will do it this year ❤❤❤see ya soon Paul
Well you could start with sorting the ferry’s out always a mission to get tickets, sure there’s a max island attendance but I think more folk would go if they ran more sailings
I drive my wife mad wen it comes to mbike racing but in 2005 she came with me to the tt and she absolutely loved it I remember wen the 1st bike came past at about 180 she looked at me open mouthed and all she said was fukin hell lmfao she never normally swears for nothing priceless 😂😂 all the best lads and ladies from London England 👍🏴
I been following the TT all my life an absolute bike nut all forms of bike sport 'I have family that live on the island. We said 2024 I'd make it over for my 50th birthday had a go at getting a ferry ticket and return for race week and it ended there . And that's the same for 1000s of others that would come over. A grand each way for me n mrs in the van with bike in back .I'd pay it as well if a ticket was available !
I’d love to come to the Isle of Man TT, I’d love to ride the course, but the cost is crazy !!!, It’s become a spectacle, a tourist attraction and the prices are too much…. I’ll bet those campsites on the edge of the track are £50 a day…. It’s a bucket list item for me to watch the TT but IOM costs make it impossible, sorry..
A would love to go but got book a year in advanced to get there. Right crap at planning bit feart a do book and somthing happens and cant go. Ad travel in my camper or just take a tent am easy at way.
Rebuilding the entire Manx infrastructure because you had a bad experience is probably not realistic. Next time try using one of the reputable travel companies that specialize in TT trips. Most include travel insurance at no extra charge. Sorry it didn’t work out for you.
I've come twice from Oregon and will come again as money allows. Here's my (not real big) secret... The ManxGP in August. Same racers, same bikes, same 37 mile course but... much less people. Less beer? Less rowdy? ManxGP - The paddock is wide open, the teams and riders are so welcoming and open. I've got selfies w/ McPint, Connor, Michael, Johnston, Johnson... Everybody is here. Housing is cheaper, maybe the weather is better? Shhhh.
You can be put up in a council house and its penny's compared to hotel prices and camping 🏕 is very popular get yourself over here u will not believe your eyes 2 feet away from a bike or sidecars doing 200 miles a hour please come you will not regret it PROMISE PAUL GREETINGS FROM DOUGLAS ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉😊😮

Greatest single event I've ever been to. I can't wait to go again!
I have really enjoyed this short series, its great to learn about the history and the background stories, really would love to attend sometime.
Can't wait to go for the first time later this year!

Have you tried reaching out in the comment section of a UA-cam video? That's usually the most effective way to resolve this type of situation.
there seems to be stuff available about a week before, people cancel or they cant get the rip off price they were asking
No offence but I would have still went and bought a tent

Whats the average cost from the USA to go to this race? transportation, accommodations etc....?
Flight from USA to London. Then travel car/train to Liverpool and catch the boat over.
I want to be part your team TT..
🙌
Public liability will destroy this, just like NI Road meetings all cancelled in 2023. Nobody wants to discuss it, cannot believe this is happening.
9000+ views.... 630+ likes. What`s wrong with people?!?
Where is Guy Martin
Doing TV shows, stepped away from the TT, still does occasional classic races in ireland
