Never met the man, but instant lump in my throat when I saw William. Feel so connected to you guys, no media Stars, just lads going racing. Joey would be so proud of you, I am sure.
This is a superb bit of documentary film making, very professional and insightful. Reminds me a lot of the sort of film making from 40-50 years ago when long takes on the subject was all you needed, before background music and constantly switching camera angles became 'essential'. Quality.
This is a beautiful piece of documentary making. I love the nods to The Road Racers but this is very much it's own unique take on the art of capturing the whole experience of road racing.
Only just found this. Thanks Richard its absolutely brilliant and as soon as I saw the name Dunlop it got a thumbs up before I even watched it. Boy it hurt to see William as I met him several times and he was a great lad.😢
Brilliant love that especially first 20 seconds when you see Michael going down that country road brilliant angle how fast these guys go thanks uploader 👌
My favourite “rider” is Guy Martin, but my favourite “racer” will always be Michael Dunlop. Aggressive and relentless. Absolute favourite. Hope he ends his career safely and can find peace in flying or something! William seemed such a quiet gentle guy.
Great video tinged with extreme sadness that William was taken so young. Personally I would like to see Michael stop, he’s got absolutely nothing left to prove or win, he’s a bona fide legend and history will write him as arguably the fastest man ever to race down the lanes, I just want to see it written when his career is ended not his life.! RIP William.
Exceptionally talented family, unfortunately coupled with imence heartbreak and tragedy. Found the part with William hard to watch, thank you for uploading a great insight into the lads lives. Past and present the Dunlop name will live on long after I am gone. ❤
I don’t know why people give Michael a hard time?? Every time I’ve met him, he’s always has had time for me and anyone else that’s about! He just looks a bit stern when in race mode. I’m for anyone that road races, hope he keeps winning but going to be hard with Hickman about??
A lot of people mistake Michael's confidence and drive for arrogance. They might also be comparing Michael to John McGuiness, Guy Martin and Peter Hickman who come off as more affable. Despite that I've heard nothing but good things from people who've spent time in Michael's company - it would appear that many people have simply misread Michael's personality.
You just learn a thing every lap. Brake a yard later, carry a couple of MPH. The thing about MD that is totally mind blowing is his skill in wet or damp conditions. I recall one TT where the race was red flagged. All the other riders thought the Dunlop brothers were insane as they were only a couple of MPH off lap records Here in NI we have rain most of the time, slurry and diesel on roads. We had a race weekend every weekend up until Covid. This is how they learned their trade.
@@BrianBell4073 finally got tickets booked after years of wanting to get to Ireland from Australia, was so excited to get to see William and Michael race, I arrived two weeks after William passed away. Devastated.. But the racing was unbelievable...Faugheen, Armoy and the ugp.

So much hard work and dedication in one family, and three of the worlds greatest road racing riders killed. At least they died doing what they loved, but I can't imagine how hard it must be for those they left behind. I respect Michael so much for keeping up the game, even though he knows so well what the consequense might be. I wish him all the best for the rest of his career - Lord knows he earned it!
