Lee Rocker plays the Double Bass, sometimes called the Doghouse Bass, Brian Setzer on guitar and vocals and Slim Jim Phantom on the three piece drum kit. Glad you enjoyed it. I have been enjoying Stray Cats for 41 years!
Try the Brian Setzer Orchestra version of this. You go from the simplicity of a three piece band to a 17 piece band with two female backup singes. Both great but very different.
Oh yea we danced until we levitated. We’d go home 5 pounds lighter and drenched in sweat laughing our backsides off. Such good memories of the Rockabilly times☮️🐾
Brian Setzer just turned 65 and he's touring right now. Just him, a drummer and standup bass. We saw him last February and he sounds just the same as he does here.
Have you heard of the Brian Setzer Orchestra? That's the lead singer's current band. They play hot music, mainly older rock and jazz. I particularly like 'Americano.'
So glad to see you back! I've missed you and was getting worried about you. Hope the new year has started off well for you and brings you much peace, love and joy. ☮
The Stray Cats are a marvel. 3 instruments making so much music. Brian Setzer is a genius. If you get a chance, check out anything by the Brian Setzer Orchestra. It's hot hot hot. Guitarist and vocalist Brian Setzer, double bassist Lee Rocker, and drummer Slim Jim Phantom. Unbeatable. Hope to see more of you, dude. I really enjoy your reviews. Stay safe and well. 💖
Man, it's Saturday March 12th, and I turned on UA-cam at 6 08p.m. Pacific time, and what do I see? You're back dude!! Did we miss you! So glad to see you again😎 I hope this comment finds you well, and in good spirits. Welcome Back👍
It was the early 80s and pop was exploding. Stray cats came out with this hit with a 1950s type vibe and a catchy beat and all the "alternative" pop (new wave) music heads loved it. They were borderlind new wave pop n punk with a 50s vibe. Different. And so it was. Have you done the group The Clash yet? "Should I Stay or Should I Go" waz their number 1 punk hit. They have reggae/punk songs too. If you like reggae listen to a song called "Armagideon Time". Its a remake of an old 70s reggae song called Armagideon (which you should listen to first. I see you have Queen videos up. Ill go look!
I echo the popular opinion! Good 👍 to see you back. If you like this, look up Reverend Horton Heat. Their bassist balances on the Bass as he plays. Seen them 5 times. Fun band.
It's all about the "bass". I ran into Brian Setzer - almost literally. He was coming out of a Chili's in the DFW airport while I was entering. Had his guitar on him. Took me a few minutes to realize who he was. This was back in the late 90s or early 2000s
Such an epic tune and band. My dad even has their rockabilly cat tattooed on his arm. We love them. Rock to dance by. If you haven’t, check out some Robert Plant solo stuff “tall cool one” was a big radio hit
Yes good to see you back. I have been hoping and waiting. Would like to give you a tune to react to if I may. Would love it if you reacted to Eric Clapton " The Core" and the Allman Brothers An't wast'n time no more. Love you man hope all is well
Love it! Saw Brian Setzer Orchestra about 20 years ago and he still kills it. Watching Stray Cats on MTV years ago opened a whole second Rockabilly appreciation movement. Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the reaction!
For some similar sounds, but maybe a little more raw check out Reverend Horton Heat . Lot's of songs. Wiggle Stick is a good start. Great cover of Folsom Prison Blues. One of my favorites is Cowboy Love. A song about " Interracial Cowboy Homo kind of Love ". The steel guitar lick in that will not get out of my head. Plus the lyrics make me laugh.
The Stray Cats should be in the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame

lee rocker plays the 'slap bass', gives a distinctive sound

Welcome back! I remember seeing them in the clubs here on Long Island before they became big. Same with Twisted Sister.
We've missed you! Way to come back with a bang!
My first favorite song as a kid was “stray cat strut” by the stray cats :)
Runaway Boys was my second fave of theirs
This was pretty different from what was being produced in the 80's. Great rockabilly revival!

Happy New Year. I was familiar with the Stray Cats old video of Rock this town. Didn't know those boys could get down like that!
Pure love, upbeat, fun puts me in a great mood! Thank you for keeping good music alive.
Welcome back 😀
Welcome back! Was wondering if you were OK. Good to see ya! ✌️
I missed you!!!!!!!
Good times, Fun song......Thanx for the memories...
Awesome reaction! That is an "upright bass" he is playing. Before they had electric bases cats used to just use big old orchestra bases to play.
Rocking!!
You are just so lovely.
I appreciate your reactions so much. ❤️
Thank You Sean, ✌🏾🙏
Missed ya, brother.
My brother moved inside lol love ya bro and love your reactions

Only found this band myself by accident a few weeks back. Listened to it about a 100 times. Swagger major and rockabilly vibe is outstanding!

Got me grinnin Abra. Lookin Good I see. Hows life? ✌️
