Jimmy Page was a mad genius. He and John Bonham seemed to have their brains connected when they played. They are the only band I know of where the drummer follows the guitar player. Somehow he knows what Jimmy is going to do.
The thing I love about Jimmy Page's performance here is the composition. The arrangement of different sounds and playing styles during this song is so awesome. The bow is obviously awesome but there are so many liitle things he does, like the sequence of octaves just before he pulls out the bow, the sequence prior to that where he has his foot on the wha wha pedal while he he strumming the guitar at the same rate while changing up the sounds by changing the frequence of his finger taps - its just beautiful sounding. The sequence of Going to San Francisco is sweet. So many things and JPJ and JHB keeping the groove going the whole time. Just inspirational...
Pure Blues call- and- response. Pure Rock- grungy guitar scream, choogling bass, near- Jazz drumming, and soaring, searing vocals. Pure genius from Jimmy and Robert- matched by the unmatchably stolid solidity of Jonesy and Bonzo on the battery. A fave for 50 years now! Nicely done, Pope- Peace.

Nothing to say but an absolutely epic performance. Page is no doubt the epicentre here but the interaction between his guitar and Plant's vocals and Bonham's drums drives the song to an insane level of improvisation, all the while Jones is the anchor keeping the balance and time.

After watching/listening to this, it always feels as though my psyche were wrung out; I am emotionally exhausted yet satisfied in the most complete way possible. This is Jimmy's "fantasy sequence" which was filmed on his property in Scotland, near Loch Ness. It is meant to represent man's quest for knowledge and wisdom, to find that it is already within, if you but look and can recognize it. The 2 guys who got thrown out were selling unofficial merch, if I recall. The performance of this one song is almost a mini concert all by itself. Legends.
That was majestic. You are majestic for putting the time aside to let us enjoy these guys for 30 mins. Kudos to you man! Get this man more subscribers, he deserves it!!!!
I agree 100%!!!! But I sure would have loved to hear Jimi put his own play on it. Just like nobody else could play little wing like Jimi. I would have loved to hear Jimmy put his own play on it
It's always fascinating when new people experience this performance. What the fuck do you say? This is almost exactly 5 years after they got together. They consider this a mediocre performance. So much of this is not ever able to be duplicated. This is literally one of the best performances ever. The highlights from this concert are amazing. I believe you've done the live Achilles from a few years later, they were struggling then but still had some high points

Legends.
Definitely a great movie!
it's a marathon, but you gotta watch the whole movie , i musta watched it over 20 times by now.
Best guitar solo ever!
That was majestic. You are majestic for putting the time aside to let us enjoy these guys for 30 mins. Kudos to you man! Get this man more subscribers, he deserves it!!!!
Every song was a hit in my world I never get tired of it
I agree 100%!!!! But I sure would have loved to hear Jimi put his own play on it. Just like nobody else could play little wing like Jimi. I would have loved to hear Jimmy put his own play on it
The Magician and his spells!
Just delicious. Jimmy is The Master. Happy belated birthday Mr. Page, thank you.
When he fell out his chair I was like yeah that song is that good
Led Zeppelin like most heavy bands of the 70's all played their hearts out (even when on drugs) shows how good they were , deep purple are a band that were as good as Zeppelin , ian paice is a monster drummer like Mick tucker from the band sweet 👏☺
The best rock band of all time. Rock, soul, jazz,
Legend and Love them ❤
4 rock gods standing on top of the mountain.
