I love the white striped seats in these cars! Once you get used to handling the power wisely in these cars, traction control can become inconvenient for those wanting the full power experience. I have an 03 Terminator Cobra with over 600whp and I never use the traction control. 13-14 GT500s are awesome Shelbys. Best of luck in yours!
I have a 13 gt500 680hp at wheels and a 21 gt500 totally stock. They are both so different from each other. I love my 13 gt500 so much. It's so different from my 21. It is a beast unleashed. So much fun to drive. And dangerous.
Having ordered my 2013 GT500 from the factory new, I’ve enjoyed every minute I’ve spent with it over the last 10 years. I’ve raced it on drag strips, autocrossed it, and run it on road courses and it’s never failed to put a smile on my face. Do yourself a favor and put the “basic” mod kit in it. Tune, pulley, intake. It wakes the beast up. You’ll thank me, trust me.
Not bad for a 7+ year old car. I didn't hear any rattles or squeaks. My 69 428cj Mach1 was hot but I don't think it would have done those squirrely fishtails like you did. I did do a lot of Saturday night drag racing. Never got beat.
As you mention in the video (and this applies to all versions, it is the design) Ford stops the design from generation so you never feel like the next gen is just better but different. It makes the version you have (which ever version) feel classic in its own right. Case in point the 1967 body style.
If you’re not planning on major power mods - Pilot Sport 4S all around will make you fall in love with that car. Night and day from the original Goodyear’s
Nice video. I’m lucky enough to own both a 2020 gt500 and 2020 350 and I feel like they are completely different cars (wife disagrees). good explanation about how you felt like the power was underwhelming I felt the same when I picked up the 500 until like you did turned traction control all the way off and get it up in the 4500+ rpm Unbelievable power but controllable. Car is fast as hell. I love both cars
you drive exactly the car of my dreams, I don't know if I will ever get the chance to get it, love it and take care of it because it really is the last of the Mohicans. If you want, make a video so we can hear the sound of the car from the exhaust but also from everything in general
I have the exact car, down to the color. I cannot hear my supercharger. I don't understand how yours is that loud!!!! I did the resonator delete too!!!
Hit the clutch and brake pedal at a stop press trac twice should activate sport mode limits tq good for road racing/ canyon running. Helps to have better tire tho
Yep, just the brake though works for me. Double click the tc button while activating the brake and that is Sport mode. Pretty sweet! Actually can be done while driving too.
If you have any questions about ownership/modifications, let me know. I've had my 2012 for a couple years and I've done tons of research on the platform.
@@ogm1ll I ended up selling it for a GT350, but in its time with me I drove it really hard, took it on thousand mile road trips and modified it well over its power level. It never skipped a beat, the only issue I ever had was when it ate a spark plug and I believe that was due to lean conditions from the custom tune. One issue all of the cars have is a second gear grind in cold weather before the trans fluid heats up, but this is fixed with a modified shifter linkage and far from a reason to not consider the car.
2013 to 2014 gt500 is a very fun car. It does not have the composure my 2021 gt500 has. It's more like a bull moose on the loose. I also have a 2013 gt500. They really are two different vehicles all together.

Good video. Well narrated with pertinent info.
That exhaust is truly venomous.
The 13/14 modulates the brakes when it needs traction. The 12 and earlier actually turned the motor down. It was terrible.
