@@RoadsUntraveled I wouldn't call the Challenger a "Blurry Line" in this argument. I love the GT-500, but the Challenger R/T, R/T Scat Pack and the Hell Cats are certainly muscle cars.
Ford will never make a retro designed mustang that carries the true mustang shape like this example... carroll shelby signed off on this example... and its a big supercharged v8 with a manual trans.... so much going for this future classic it's not even funny. Couple of mods and you are at 800hp. No it does not handle like a gt350 but its a traditional muscle car and its dangerously fast in a straight line. This car is a W
@@antimedic4441 I've got all the press coverage on the 13-14 from back then. Shelby was a consultant on these cars, drove them before release to the public, and signed off on them.
I’m 73 and just bought my 13 Snake about 4-5 weeks ago and I have to say it is w/o a doubt both fun and scary at the same time…it’s like riding a super fast ride at the beach…you have to have the upmost respect for the unbridled venom ( power ) this snake has in its possession…at my age I still enjoy the exhilarating sound and the uncontrolled smile this snake puts on my face and I love the Recaros!
Not sure if you agree, but to me, this time period was the last great era for cars. Don’t get me wrong; I still love many of the newer offerings that are V8 powered, hit it was just something about this era before things got entirely too high tech for my taste. Give me analog gauges and a manual trans option AND at least an OPTION to have a cd player!
13/14 GT500 is the modern equivalent of the 69/70 Boss 429. I remember seeing the first article announcing its arrival. Went to my dealer and put down money, even though it couldn't be ordered for another 4-6 months. Just had it out today. 100MPH @ 2000 RPM, effortlessly. Redline @ 7000. We call it the "Nutwagon" as it's so over the top you could make the case it really shouldn't be street legal. Oh, what a feeling! Wait a minute...
@@AlexGray My dealer had allocations for two GT500's in 2012 (2013MY) and I paid him sticker plus $1000 which covered his SVT license for the year. Not a bad deal as the 500 was likely underpriced at MSRP. I believe mine was optioned to around $69K.
Been keeping up with its value since they came out.. the highest I’ve seen em average was about $67k.. and that was during/after Covid, they actually started to cool down again back to the $50k-$60k range… still my dream car and I’m still determined to get one in this exact color !!
This is the greatest mustang ford ever made extremely powerful very handsome looking, plus the last collaboration between carroll shelby and ford the sound it makes is really good especially that supercharger whine, for me as well as others who love old school generation mustangs: this mustang is the goat of old school mustangs plus a dream car as well the 13-14 gt500 still packs a punch up to this very day even though it's more than a decade old. Plus the rarity of it especially when you consider the production line, even though i haven't driven a 13-14 gt500 from the reviews as well as blogs about this car some say with this car it keeps you on your toes especially how powerful it is, you got to respect it plus it's very playful as well as joyful that last live rear axle helps add to the personality, from the exterior of the car it looks angry, but once you get to know what it's all about it let it's guard down revealing there's more than meets the eyes.
This was the first production 200mph mustang and referred as the second coming of the famous “Terminator” Cobra. This one is best version for straight line performance and that doesn’t bother me one bit! This car built the road for GT350/R because the focus was on straight line performance. Overall, one day I will own one and enjoy it for what it is.
All things considered this year of GT500 is actually really reasonable when you consider what we have to choose from now and how other cars have gone through the roof in value. 40-50k for a car that I believe was 60-80k new is a steal considering what you're getting. This is the S197 people cared about because it's the last one Carroll cared about. The new GT500 is just a name with big horsepower tacked into a Mustang.

Yea how he didn't know that is PATHETIC. He also doesn't understand that the 13-14 GT500 beat the irs Crapmaro z l1 on a TRACK! The car was good at the TRACK and drag strip
Had a 2011 gt500. It seems temperamental at first kicking it loose in the corners. Just takes time to get to the point where you can thrash it & have fun. The 13-14 might have had another 110hp over my 5.4. But the driving experience in the corners was the same. That platform & solid rear made for a fun experience. Definitely a learning curve though.
My good friend has one, black red stripes same yr. I’ve driven it, he’s driven my 14 1LE. I have a stage 2 cam and bolt on’s . He walks me on the highway, I leave him on the backroads. That car has crazy highway gears, totally opposite of my Camaro’s 3:91’s. I still have to hit 5th and the end of the quarter mile, but really don’t need 6th on the highway below 80-90.
12.1 1/4. They were 11.7 cars stock Did ever cut the traction control off completely completely big difference if so you would be spinning Will into 3 gear
I think motortrend actually got 11.6 in the quarter and they have terrible tires from factory so with better tires you could probably get low 11’s or even high 10’s
Ppl have run low 11s on a tire at 125 mph. The 11-12 with the 373 gear went as fast as 11.5 at 120+ I remember reading it in mm&ff. It was down in power but had much better gearing which is why its closer than you'd think given the 112 hp difference (mostly the better blower).
My brother owns a 2013 Shelby GT500 with a bit over 1000HP and I'm owning a 900HP C7 Z06 (7AT). The GT500 is a bit quicker in straight line and has a huge Topspeed (German Autobahn 😎👍🏻) but you can't compare a real Sportscar to a Power GT. Of course the C7 is way better and stable in corners but my god the GT500 is a hell of a ride 😂. The most "oh shit" moments you can buy for that money 😂. Track and Performance package, great sound system and those seats are amazing. Enough space for a long road trip. Just updated KW Springs and that's it. Huge difference just with the springs. The last real Carroll Shelby car and you can feal that he was all about the fun for his last car 😂👍🏻
I rode passenger on track in an older 09 gt500 with lowering springs and PS4S. And buddy was definitely wrestling the thing hard to get it around corners. I was honestly scared and impressed at the same time. The speeds that the car entered the corner with, I thought for sure we were going to understeer wide into the grass. But the car still went around it despite the body motions giving an impression of instability. Definitely didn't feel confident doing it but the edginess adds to the drama and fun.
