Wonderful words!!! You’ve accomplished a lot too. So wonderful to see one person not forget about their lifetime goals, and accomplish them in the senior years of their life! I really mean that. Good job, you!!
First ran Los Angeles at age 26 and again the next year. Decades later and overweight Chelsea's journey and now your comment really inspires me! Marathoners forever.
EVERYONE LET'S STOP WHAT WE ARE DOING RIGHT NOW AND GIVE APPLAUSES TO THIS LADY WHO JUST FINISHED HER FIRST EVER NEW YORK MARATHON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!🥰😎🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳
You don’t have to apologize for your time. You finished a freakin marathon. 26.2 miles in New York. That’s a great accomplishment. Most people can’t even run a mile. Keep on moving forward. You go girl!
“I deserve to be there.” YES YOU DO!!! Congratulations, such an achievement. I cried along with you at the end and caught myself smiling throughout the video. You should be so so proud of yourself. Inspirational!
I’m a super cry baby and started crying before you even started the race! I had to stop and comment on how important it is to see a normal person chase their goals and persevere through obstacles on the way. It makes me realize how hard I’ve worked these last few years to better myself and gives me encouragement to tackle other goals as well! CONGRATS!!!!!! This journey has been truly inspiring to watch!!

YOU FINISHED A FUCKING MARATHON, CHELSEA!! You have nothing to apologize for. You did that, girl! Be proud! I'm sure your dad is. ❤❤ #YouAreAnInspiration
Not me crying into my scrambled eggs watching this 😂 so proud of you, Chelsea! Running is such a beautiful sport in that it can teach us so much about ourselves. Way to go! 🎉
Joining the tears crew, here! Happy tears because my goodness, what a journey it's been to get here. You've worked so hard and endured some really less than ideal training circumstances but you didn't let it stop you! You PULLED THROUGH and honored yourself, your community here, and every person who has been affected by brain tumors and cancers. So proud of you and so happy to see where our journey goes next! 🥳
Congrats Chelsea on completing the marathon ! I am a proud subbie. You did incredibly well to get to this point and 😊thanks for sharing you journey with us. You deserve to celebrate and slowly soak everything ❤️ I truly hope you can allow your body and mind to rest to recharge for your next milestone.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for running for my brother in law, Brad Hakey, who we lost to glioblastoma in 2015. He was and still is so loved. Love you, Chelsea!! I know your dad was looking down on you and smiling as you ran.
That was me that passed you near the end (the ‘no shit!’) It was so nice to meet you :) that gave me the extra bit of energy I needed to finish. I echo everything you said and felt in this video! Such a magical experience in such a magical city. Thanks for sharing your entire experience - it was so fun training along with you this year! CONGRATS, FINISHER!!
I don’t know you, but I’m so proud of you! My friend ran the marathon last year. He said it was the most difficult and most rewarding race he’s ever run. What a life accomplishment! And thank you for running for such a great cause. My dad is in hospice with brain cancer, only has a few more months. Thank you for your compassion and caring. ❤️
I am 100% not an athlete and normally have no interest in running, BUT… I cried watching this. The way you described that last mile… UGHHHH. So amazing. I am so proud of you!!!
I went through half a box of Kleenex watching this Chelsea. You are SUCH an inspiration. I lost my dad to cancer almost 20 years ago and know your dad was beaming with pride with every mile you conquered. You F*CKING DID IT GIRL!!!! We love you and are so proud of you, Chels. 🥹🥹🥹
My partner is a marathon runner and suffered a brain injury when struck by a motorcycle out for a run this past summer. I have witnessed his dedication to running and have been alongside him throughout his training. I hope he can get back here, one day. So much has been taken from him, but the runner perseverance quality is a strong one - unlike no other. I don't know you personally, but a stranger is proud of you. Kudos to you and this amazing quality you possess.
I think because I watch videos about stoicism, and I like to watch vlogs depicting what life is like in other parts of the world, you eventually showed up in my algorithm a couple of months ago. I have been following your story ever since, but I did not realize how emotionally invested I was until I watched this video. 46 year old grown man, with tears in my eyes from the very beginning, but by the 15 or 16 minute mark out I was bawling like a baby. I hope you have a wonderful weekend, and that you treat yourself. You are a superhero, a rockstar, and there are so many people all over the world who are inspired by you and who love you. You may live alone in the Big Apple but all of your friends are celebrating with you today. Congratulations!
Congratulations my friend and I also wanted to let you know that a lot of people and yourself who did this marathon really inspired me so this upcoming November 18th I will be running with the New York road runner for the virtual Thanksgiving run 5K hope all is well happy early Thanksgiving. 😁
Congratulations! Personal opinion-everyone who finished the marathon should be acknowledged in the NYT. That time you posted was good for a newbie. Don’t fret. Next time you’ll improve. Are you going to stay active by running shorter races until you decide to enter the marathon again. Acknowledging those who have been impacted by the disease was a very sweet gesture.
Huge huge HUGE congratulations Chelsea!!! I watched my husband run a half marathon several years ago and I was surprised by how emotional it is to be there in person and see everyone trying so hard, with all the wonderful supporters all around! It's just amazing. You're a gifted storyteller and I hope you are so proud of yourself! And hey, I have plantar fasciitis too and I've only run a 5k in my whole life! Wooo!!!
I'm crying too! This was so great, Chelsea, and I'm just so touched that you took us along on your marathon and shared so much with us... most of us who will never run a marathon, getting to see firsthand what it was like for you. I was tracking you on the app and cheering you on, especially in that last mile. You are such a positive light and pushed through so many hard things to do it. You are such a positive person bringing so much light, and generously including us as your community. So inspiring... we are all proud of you! Now, take a break! 🙂
I’m a 5:30 marathon finisher too !! No shame! We worked hard for a long time to run that 26.2 miles . I think we’re doing more work being out there longer 😆 congratulations (also, it took me 10 years between my first and second marathon so take your time ! Haha)
One of my really good friends from college died from glioblastoma last month. She was 29. Thank you for raising money to support patients and families of those effected
Crying happy tears for you! 🥲 What an amazing accomplishment! Your dad's memory lives on through your hard work, dedication, and education on this terrible disease. I'm sure you were thinking of him and brought closer to him through all the training days and marathon. Way to go!
That was me right before you hit the Bronx! My boyfriend was running the marathon too and he had the same start time as you. I added you to my app and was so excited to see you, but he stayed ahead of you until Manhattan. When I saw you, I got so excited for you (and everyone else running). It was such a great day! Lots of fun. I was running around the city myself. I’m a newer viewer, but I’m so proud of you ❤
I watched this with tears streaming down my face. I ran through New York marathon 8 years ago and my run didn't go as I planned either. I got a stress fracture 10km in -but I finished that marathon - I flew from Australia to run it - and ended up in a moon boot for 6 months. But even though I was disappointed this was the most memorable proud moment of my life. Thank you for letting me relive my marathon through you. This won't be your last marathon. I promise you. So proud of you
Hi Chelsea I just wanted to say you did that and I’m so proud of you! I cried throughout this video just cause I was so happy you accomplished what you set out to! What a huge accomplishment and I can’t wait to see what you’ll be up to now that you ran this marathon❣️❤💌
I didn’t know you were running for your dad or that he had cancer. When you held up that sign that you were running for him I started crying so bad. I bet he would’ve been so proud of you.
My period started this morning, I'm crying my eyes out!!! I love you and feel so proud for you!! I'm training for a marathon on my 30th birthday myself and have never been a runner before. you have been an inspiration to me. Thank you for sharing the true experience for you and always being so honest! Congratulations on this HUGE experience!!
Damn that was emotional, and I wasn’t even running.so proud of you and and your determination to see this through regardless of all the obstacles of REAL LIFE ish. Amazing vlog.
Wow this is a HUGE ACCOMPLISHMENT!!! Right when you got emotional about getting close to the finish line I lost it right along with you. YOU DID IT CHELSEA!!!
Congratulations! I am so proud of you! I was following along on the ap. That day was my birthday, I had my family over and we were all cheering you on. I stopped fixing dinner until you finished. You are so inspiring. Your video has only been up for 8 hours and you have over 800 comments. We all got invested in your run and a world full of people are so happy for you. Hope you get to celebrate, rest, and recover before you tackle your next big thing. You now know you can do whatever you set your mind to and can face anything anybody throws at you with confidence. You go girl!!
I’m so so proud of you! My GM had a brain tumor and they couldn’t get all of it out! She still manage to raise her grandchildren and go to work everyday! I wish I could run with you. I am disabled now from my back and several hip replacements but I sure will be with you while your running cheering you on. It’s a true blessing to be healthy enough to do this! We know you didn’t have to do this and we know the struggles you have had to get here! Just feel so damn proud of you! Wishing you the best race and please know we want the best for you physically and mentally!! I know you will feel so so good when you finish and have played a huge part not only for the people with brain tumors but other people like me that know they can’t make it. Just do the best you can! You don’t have to be perfect in anyway! We 💕 you go, go, go! God bless you!!!!!!
Congratulations, Chelsea! Inspirational! My daughter and I will be running it this year. It's our first time running NY. About your foot pain, if it felt like a burning sensation in the ball of your foot, it could have been metatarsalgia. Also, my daughter thinks the vaporfly shoes she wore in our last marathon gave her a foot injury as well. Best wishes!
Congratulations! I love watching your videos, I had no real interest in marathons (wait, this comment gets better) but the process of watching your running journey from the start has given me a true understanding of what an achievement it is to run through that finish line. Sharing your experience doing this is an amazing way to show people what dedication, strength and motivation it takes to achieve that medal. I cried! I'm sure your Dad would be so proud. Well done on raising the 10K for ABTA and thank you for bringing us all along!
Great job, Chelsea!!! Being able to commit yourself to something and see the result, it's truly one of the best feelings in the world. You did it and nothing and no one can ever take that away from you!
Oh my, I was not expecting to be emotional about this but I cried, laughed and cheered out loud for you just as if I was there on the sidelines! And those names of all those people you posted 😢😢❤ Such an achievement, not just the actual race but all the prep and mental stuff you have done for it. Endurance to the max! So proud of you!! And I personally think the NY Times should print every single person's name who competes in their paper. What a wonderful inclusive, not hard to do thing, that would be! Wonderful video, Chelsea, hugs and blessings from Australia...go massage those feet 😂❤❤
Chelsea girl YOU FREAKING RAN THE NEW YORK CITY MARATHON!!! CONGRATULATIONS 🎈🎊🍾🎉 you did amazing and thank you for taking us on your journey. This proves anything you put your mind to you will accomplish and conquer it!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉
You should be super proud - what a wonderful accomplishment. You overcame great odds to make it to the finish line, with your feet hurting all the way. Before you lined up, you trained with determination despite juggling two jobs, a move and without a long background in distance running. Be proud of the 5 and half hours. You ran for those who couldn’t, and the only true competitor you have in any race is yourself. Hope every time you look at that medal it brings a smile. It should be a reminder that you conquered 26.2 miles in one of the most challenging marathons in the world and as the sun set over your city you were flying down the last backstretch.
This was me in 1999 @ 31yrs. I’m nodding yes to the entire video. I also ran in NB shoes, I also got PF, ran in memory of my Mom and Dad (F cancer). Went through the same struggles in the course. And when you hit Central Park, everything, all the pain, just went away. I have a few athletic accomplishments, but this will always be #1. Thank you filming and allowing me to remember. And CONGRATULATIONS 🎉
I had tears for this whole video. There is something so emotional about watching people do something so unbelievably difficult. I hope you’re so proud of yourself! I would love to do this one day 🙏
Freaking tearing up! I was following you, writing on Insta, all that jazz. Your dad must be sooooooooo proud! Fucking surreal and amazing moment when you run and people are cheering and all the world is aligned even though you have pain in places you did not even know! And why, even if hard, do we already plan on running another one? :D :D :D I got plantar fasciitis after I changed shoes too and was training for a half marathon and I am so angry. Because the shoes felt so comfy... And now everytime I run more than 5 K, it flairs up again and again. I have changed to minimalist shoes but still the plantar fasciitis is there and I stretch and do all things that I could find online...and it does not go away. So I would be interested in knowing if your goes away and what things do you do as damage control. Again, congratulations and know that this was and is a huge achievement!
Not me sitting here literally crying the entire time you were running because I am SO proud of you. You are amazing. Thank you for always being relatable and making me believe I can do anything. ❤
Congratulations! Listing the subscribers and their loved ones was a beautiful tribute. This whole video was the most inspiring thing I have seen in a long time. You rock woman!
Chelsea, I watch you intermittently because I'm a fellow new yorker. When you dedicated miles to people's survivors and family members it was so incredibly touching. Great achievment!
Chelsea!! I’m 44 years old and just feeling sorry for myself. I got so emotional with your marathon video. I swear you have inspired me to get up and do something that I’ll be proud of. Congratulations!!! You are awesome!! 🎉
She-ro!!!! My dad was a Larry too. He died of colon cancer at age 55. I’ve ran for him too! Healing from a broken fibula…but watching you has been inspiring! Great job Chelsea!
You crushed it! I was right behind you in Wave 5, Pink Corral E! I teared up in your video, starting at the Queensboro. I know how hard it was. And when you said the last mile you were just flying, that was my experience, too. So cool. Congratulations!! What an unforgettable experience.
Wow, you're amazing! You trained for a marathon whilst working full time, and moving apartments by yourself. You've done fantastically well! I hope you can give yourself a pat on the back, and finally REST as much as you can! I know I don't know you, but I'm really proud of you 🩷
Chelsea, you are a warrior!! It is a tough course and to finish is a great accomplishment!! Life does get in the way so training for an event of this magnitude is hard even if you have time. Trust me, I know it was a balancing act for me as I trained for NYC Marathon. One thing that stuck with me is when I ran my first marathon in Chicago 2021, I was grateful to have finished in 5:28:16. This being my second marathon, I did it in 4:12:17. Keep plugging away as you have so much ahead of you. Courage is needed to make this dream a reality. And what a beautiful way to honor your dad. Yes, be very proud of yourself and parade that medal…I have!! 😊
Ok, so I you know that saying, everything happens for a reason. I subscribed to you about 3 maybe 4 months because I love you style of Vlogs. But now here's the interesting part my dad died from a brain tumor in 1997, I kinda of feel this is why I found you. Thank you for running to fund raising for them and being so genuine in your vlogs.
This was an epic effort Chelsea ❤. I’m so proud of you as I know everyone around you is too. So lovely to see your mum and sister as well. Pushing through all,the pain and tiredness has made you more resilient and adaptable. The mental toughness you’ve developed will take you through many of life’s challenges ahead. What a dedication to your dad and all those who have died from this illness. You’re one in a million Chelsea Callahan❤❤. #Fuckcancer
Congratulations!! You started the race and finished!! A lot of us could have started the race but YOU FINISHED IT!!! SOOOOO PROUD OF YOU AND FOR YOU!! So nice that your family was there to support you too!! When you said you were going to "get sappy" I started to tear up knowing that you are so much stronger than you ever give yourself credit for!! Great video too...but so happy for what it stands for for you!!
I almost started crying a handful of times throughout the video, and then finally did when you started crying towards the end of the race. Your determination and journey and just the way you go about your life is so inspiring. So happy for you 😭🙏🏻 congratulations!!!
OMG I started crying at 15:38 when you started getting sappy. Chelsea, you are such an inspiration to many and your drive to do this marathon is amazing. There are no better words I can think of saying other than we are all so proud of you; I'm sure your dad is too 🤍
I can not love this person more! I discovered this channel not long ago and i'm obsessed. Congrats for running the marathon. We really felt all your emotions. Sharing this journey with you was magical!!
So proud of you!! What an amazing accomplishment 💗 I lost my dad to brain cancer on 11-10-19. Bless you for using your community and platform to bless and honor those affected. We were all behind you and will always be rooting for you!!
So unbelievably proud of you, all that you’ve accomplished, the discipline, and follow through to prep and finish for this marathon. That takes tremendous amounts of determination to do that and you did it. I appreciate how present you were in that last mile and the depth of your gratitude. Speaks volumes to how wonderful of a person you truly are. Way to go, Chelsea!!
Chelsea, running for you dad to me was… I just don’t know what to say. My mother died when I was 9 and I haven’t really done anything IN HER name before. But you running for you father and in his name made me really happy. He’s looking at you and seeing the strong, beautiful and happy women you have grown to be. Lots of love to you. AND OH MY GOODNESS YOU RAN THE NEW YORK MARATHON!!!🎉
Chelsea, I am so incredibly proud of you. Such a momentous accomplishment. We’ve all watched you work so hard for this, and I, for one, am so very happy for you. Congratulations! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🙌🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Congratulations, Chelsea! You did it and we’re all proud of you and I’m SO glad you’re proud of yourself!! Thanks for including the In Memory names. So great to see my grandpa’s name.
The way i cried watching this! It was so beautiful to see your faith in yourself, your belief you could do it and what you were able to achieve with that! Massive congratulations and thank you for letting us come along for the ride!
First ran age 27, first marathon age 65; first NYC Marathon (2015) age 70; you go, Chelsea!

Ahhh, I was talking to a relative the other day about you running the race like we know each other irl hee. You did wonderful
Cried my eyes out the entire video. The dedication of miles for your viewers, your perseverance… so inspirational! Thank you for sharing this with us!
Congratulations on finishing! This was super motivating, I’ll be running my first marathon January 14th and it’s definitely been a mental challenge.
Thank you 🥹 You got this!!
Great video, CONGRATULATIONS!! SUCH A GREAT SUCCESS!!
Great job, Chelsea!!! Being able to commit yourself to something and see the result, it's truly one of the best feelings in the world. You did it and nothing and no one can ever take that away from you!
I ran my first at NYC this year too. Finished in 6:22 and am stoked about it.
Chelsea congratulations on running the New York City Marathon. You did an amazing job
This is such a beautiful vlog😢😢😢😢🎉🎉🎉🎉I cried and am so happy for you🎉🎉
Oh my, I was not expecting to be emotional about this but I cried, laughed and cheered out loud for you just as if I was there on the sidelines!
Who’s cutting onions?!?!!WE ARE SO PROUD OF YOU CHELLZ! Especially your Dad! Heaven absolutely smiled on you that day!❤
Chelsea girl YOU FREAKING RAN THE NEW YORK CITY MARATHON!!!
I would love to do this one day 🙏
Congratulations!! You ran the New York City Marathon!! That is an amazing feat, no matter how long it took!! I'm sure your dad is very proud of you!!
I got plantar fasciitis after I changed shoes too and was training for a half marathon and I am so angry.
I’m running my first half marathon this weekend and teared up watching this. Huge congratulations, Chelsea!! 🎉
Good luck! You’ve got this! 🎉
ahhhh good luck!!!
Congratulations on this achievement. As a 74 year old who is recovering from ankle surgery I am really enjoying your journey. God bless.
Congratulations Chelsea!!!! We are all so proud you. 🎉
You rock woman!
this was so emotional... I don't know why but it made me cry too!! I'm training for my first half and your videos motivate me so much 💕💕💕
Chelsea- All I can day is how how proud you must feel and THANK YOU for sharing this part of your life with us. We are forever grateful!
What an unforgettable experience.
oh hey that's awesome!! What a day right? Congratulations to you!!
Unforgettable! Thank you!
#Fuckcancer
Chelsea! I am someone who never cries and I HAPPY CRIED WITH YOU. SO EMOTIONAL SEEING YOU FINALLY DO THIS!!!!
Thank you for reminding us that we can do whatever we set our minds to. 💚
YOU DID IT! So proud of you girl! Thank you for taking us along and thanks also to everyone who supported you and your cause
So proud of you!! What an amazing accomplishment 💗 I lost my dad to brain cancer on 11-10-19. Bless you for using your community and platform to bless and honor those affected. We were all behind you and will always be rooting for you!!
So so so so so proud of youuuuu
Congratulations!! Sooooo proud of you! When your legs can’t carry you, run with your mind, when your mind can’t carry you, run with your heart.
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🙌🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
omg I started crying with you 😭 this is such an amazing accomplishment congratulations!!!
Congratulations, Chelsea! You did it and we’re all proud of you and I’m SO glad you’re proud of yourself!! Thanks for including the In Memory names. So great to see my grandpa’s name.
