This is the best way to experience our culture and hospitality! I am glad that you guys are not finicky which will make your trip in our country an unforgettable one, not to mention the vibrant city of Manila and Makati as well as the kindness and cheerfulness of our people which we are known for all over the world, as well as our generosity.
Josie, whenever you hear subtle and short beeps, no need to get startled, they are just a polite way of saying “watch out” for the oncoming vehicles. I know in western countries beeping usually means the driver is angry, but in the Philippines it’s kind of a cultural thing and just the people looking after you. 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗

Hola Josie! We very much appreciate sharing your experience with our Ube-Cheese Martabak! More people came by our stall last Saturday and we're sold out early. We are proud to be one of the few, if not the only one, who makes this type of flavor of Martabak since Ube is not a popular ingredient in Indonesia. Thanks again for your support and we wish you all the best in your awesome food vlogging journey! 😁🙏

I don't know if you have a food list yet but here's a list you can try out while here in the Philippines... 1. Lechon - Roasted whole pork . 2. Sisig - sizzling pig face, pork liver, and innards. 3. Kwek Kwek - Filipino street food, common along busy side streets. 4. Mang Inasal - a bbq chicken recipe from one of the southern islands of the Philippines. 5. Jollibee - fast food chain which is home grown and making waves across the globe. 6. Various Street Foods - where there is Kwek Kwek there are other street foods with it, so worth a try. 7. Balut - Discover this out, for the brave soul inside of you. These are just some of the things I can think of on top of my head that you can try. Lumpiang Shanghai, Lumpiang Togue, Turon, Peach Mango Pie, Cheese Sticks and Dynamite are best eaten when they're just 15-30 mins out of the fryer, warm and crispy ...
Hello, welcome to the Philippines! I just started watching your vlogs and I really like them. I'm a Filipino and I'm glad you're enjoying your stay here. Looking forward to more videos of you together here. Take care!
Lumpiang Shanghai with sweet and sour sauce is a good combination. Dynamite is a must too... I hope you've enjoyed your experiences so far. Have a nice day ahead and stay safe!
Hi Josie...I just want to say thank you very much for visiting my country and loving all our local foods.Hope your having great time staying there.Stay safe and God BLess.
Try Bo's Cafe, one of the few coffee shops that serve Philippine coffee. We do have really good local coffee, the best come from the Cordilleras, Cavite, Bukidnon, and Davao, to name just four. We even have great, natural, eco-friendly civet coffee but that can be expensive.
Thanks for featuring PH in your content. Love the good vibes. You guys should visit BGC. If you want to experience nature, you can also visit Cebu and the awesome beaches of Palawan.
Awesome video! Your vlogs are my favorite of the Philippines vlogs I've found so far. This is exactly the video I needed to see as I'm planning on where to stay when I'm there this weekend or next week! Poblacion seems more my style than BGC or the more expensive areas of Makati. Would you say Poblacion would be a good area to stay (I don't want the fancy, lavish areas). Also, knowing they have Mexican food makes me very happy. 😂
Your favourite!!! Thank you!!! 🥺🥺😩❤️ Mir is correct, it’s more grungy, bars, night life, back packers and affordable, I’d say isn’t fancy at all so this seems better for you!! You should try Halo-Halo it's the number 1 cold dessert in the Philippines. Halo-halo is tagalog for "mixed," it is made up of crushed ice, evaporated milk or coconut milk, and various ingredients including ube jam (ube halaya), sweetened kidney or garbanzo beans, coconut strips, sago, gulaman (agar), pinipig, boiled taro or soft yams in cubes, flan, slices or portions of fruit preserves and other root crop preserves.

Buko is coconut. So buko juice is cocnut juice. For lumpia get one that's fresh out of the fryer. Lumpia should be crispy. I saw they were selling dynamite with the lumpia. You should try it. It's pepper with either ground pork/beef or cheese inside wrapped in a lumpia wrapper.
I'm absolutely loving following you throughout the Philippines, as I plan to retire somewhere there with my husband, eventually. You both have so much enthusiasm, adventure, and an openness for new things.
I recommend also to visit Intramuros where the famous Walled City is located Very historic place in the Philippines. Try some foods stalls and the famous La Cathedral Cafe and Barbara

Lol, yes. Jeepney system is truly unique in the Philippines. There are no formalized instructions on how to use it. It sort of evolved in the local traveling public. The routes are written on the sides and front of the jeeps, but frankly, I always have to ask around myself before I go on one, unless I'm used to taking a certain route. And I also observed that each place has its own way of signalling where to stop. Some say 'para', and in some places they just tap the roof, some even have a string you can pull to signal.
I love your energy. Welcome to the Philippines. I really enjoy your videos even before you came here. More contents soon. Try to visit the provinces to have a break from the busy streets of metro manila. Enjoy the islands here in our country. Please stay safe and enjoy your stay here. 💛💙🙏
Buko/buco is coconut ♡ you have to try buko milkshake if you get a chance and also ube milkshake.. my favorites! Perfect to quench one's thirst in this hot weather.
Hi Josie. It's so refreshing to watch your vlogs, you are so bubbly and have an awesome personality. ✌🏻🫰By the way, I believe the final destination of the Jeepneys' is usually written on the Jeepneys'. You can also ask if they are going to your destination. 👍🏼Plus I'm sure you can ask people on board and/or driver to let you know when your stop is near so you can get off. 👍🏼 Buko, is coconut. The Lumpia you ate, should have been crunchy, if it's not crunchy anymore and taste very oily, then it's not freshly fried and been sitting there for a while.
The jeepneys have their routes printed on the side and in its front.. they have their boundary places where in they take passengers until in that place or a certain area only and then go back drive to their base terminals
Welcome to our country miss josie.. thanks for all the good reactions on our foods 🥰🥰🥰 if you time you can visit my hometown "pampanga".. it is known for good food.. its like the cooking capital of the philippunes😁😁😁

Keep explore the philippines and you will see the heart of the country. It made up of 7017 island and white sand beaches lagoons and under ground rivers that u never seen in your life. We can say that u are just in the foot of the country before u can witness the whole beautiful places. Take care always
The Philippines was a colony of Spain from 1570 to 1898 upon the declaration of the 1st republic and the start of the Philippine-American War. The Manila-Acapulco trade lasted 250yrs w/c brought the spanish and mexican cultures to the islands.
Buko, my favorite and mango juice. Buko is coconut juice. If the juice is clear it is pure coconut, if the juice is white it is mix with milk and sugar. 😀😀
You should explore other Provinces of the Philippines especially the ones that are not that CITY LIKE especially in the Visayas area like Siquijor, Southern Leyte, or even in Samar.
Love your suggestion! I'll be taking a trip to the Philippines in November and I'm from Guam. A "chef's kiss" is all the convincing I need to find Commune Coffee in Poblacion.

hey, ate Josie! you must visit here in Bohol, one of the most visited island in PH. I recommend featuring the Bohol's delicacy called "Calamay" specifically from the town of Jagna. It is a perfect filling for the "Pandesal", a famous filipino bread. Bohol is the land of the chocolate hills, breathtaking beaches, and home of the second smallest primate in the world, the tarsier!
Yes, I feel the same: I love when a vlogger I enjoy actually takes the time to be interactive with their viewers. I think some end up getting too "popular" (for lack of a better word), they fail to ever answer a question, inquiry, or something that needs elaboration. I just stumbled upon Josie today, really enjoying her venture through PI and Filipino culture.
Hi, if you want to know more about Filipino Culture, you may visit the Intrumuros ( Walled City,), Luneta Park. Yes, there are lot of restaurant that offers authentic Filipino cuisine. You should try that. Lastly, you may visit, Binondo Manila, the oldest Chinatown in the world. Enjoy the food. 😊😉

I'm so sorry about the honking of horns. It's a common thing that is being used here, I know in Canada and the US or Australia horns are not used frequently.
Honking is pretty used frequently in the US and Canada. Especially when they saw someone famous or one they know. It's a way of drivers saying "Hey!" To a person or them saying "please get out of the way because i might hit you accidentally".
Hahaha you’re right about Australia though, we only beep the horn if we’re really mad basically 😂😂😂 Don’t hear it often hahaha but I should be more used to it by now 😂😂

I'd like like to watch you're video, because you always laughing, and it's a big honor for me,to have you her in our county to vlog to promote what is Philippines is, thank you so much, have some fun and enjoy yourself in our county,be careful always,And God bless you both
Hahaha we definitely will end up somewhere in Japan or something if we went on it 😂😂
Good to know you enjoy staying here 😊, keep safe always to the both of you ❤

Josie is always fun to watch, her cheerful face and positive vibes will make your day and will always try new things in unfamiliar places. 👍
I love this comment!! Thank you!! 🥺😁☺️
You’re the best thank you so much for watching!’ We may have to just try one before we leave and see where we end up 😂😂😂
The jeepneys have their routes printed on the side and in its front.. they have their boundary places where in they take passengers until in that place or a certain area only and then go back drive to their base terminals
Now I need the jeepneys to stay still long enough for me to study the routes 😂😂😂
@@josieliftsthings yes ma'am josie, you can ask the drivers on until where is their boundary route.. they will tell you..
Welcome to our country miss josie.. thanks for all the good reactions on our foods 🥰🥰🥰 if you time you can visit my hometown "pampanga".. it is known for good food.. its like the cooking capital of the philippunes😁😁😁

buko juice is coconut juice very healthy!
Buko is young coconut. Enjoy your visit here in the Philippines 🇵🇭 😊 ♥
Buko is coconut juice/water :) and with the Lumpia Shanghai you should have dipped them with a sweet and source sauce....
For me Buco (coconut) is the best. You both should try it.♥️♥️🌹
I really enjoy watching your unpretentious vlogs. Thanks for sharing 🙏🏻
Thank you so much for watching! I’m so happy you like my videos ☺️☺️
The bbq sauce is:
Tomato sauce
Soy sauce
Sprites
Minced garlic
Black pepper
Kalamansi juice
And little bit of sugar
Thank you for loving the Philippines buko is coconut and inside is coconut water enjoy your stay in the Philippines 🇵🇭

Thank you so much!!! You’ll have to keep an eye out for this one then!’ 😁😁😁
@@josieliftsthings She didn't mean she "ate Josie" lol. She's using the term ate (AH-teh) which means older sis._* 😎😎😎
@@trentdiaz8197 😂😂 this is so cute I didn’t know that! Haha thank you 🥹🥺😁
your happy face makes us happy also . love the smile ❤️
Thank you joy!!! 😁😁😁
I love how responsive Josie is in the comment section. 😊 great edge among the other foreign travel vloggers 😁
This means so much!! I try to make sure everyone is appreciated as best I can! Thank you 🥺🥺🙏🏻☺️
Yes, I feel the same: I love when a vlogger I enjoy actually takes the time to be interactive with their viewers. I think some end up getting too "popular" (for lack of a better word), they fail to ever answer a question, inquiry, or something that needs elaboration. I just stumbled upon Josie today, really enjoying her venture through PI and Filipino culture.
Loved the video Josie! Full of good vibes 🥰
Love this comment! Thank you!! 😁😁😁☺️
Haha thank you!! Keep an eye out for my next video on Wednesday! 😉 😉
Yes of course. Thanks Josie🥰
I love this episode! It makes me miss home! Oh and you ask what is "buko" it's coconut and the barbecue and lumpiang shanghai are the best!!!
Thank you Gerard!! 😁😁😁
@@josieliftsthings you are always welcome Josie and if you have any questions about Filipino foods and anything Filipino just let me know 😊 Have a great and amazing day and take care always on your travels 😊
Total nostalgia. I remember going there on weekends when I was working in the area. I'm an "ube all the way" kind of girl. 😁. Another great vid. I can't help it now, need to subscribe to you two. 👍. DONE!
Haha how weird is it to see places you’ve been before!! I definitely have to try ube in other things now! Haha. Thank you so much for subscribing, welcome!!! 😁😁😁
@@josieliftsthings Happy to be here. Your excitement and positive energy endeared me when I watched your arrival to Philippines video. I did not subscribe right away bec so many foreign vloggers jump the Pinoy-bait bandwagon and you can see it after you watched a number of videos. I was disappointed and had to unsubscribe to some of them after. But both of your personalities and genuineness just caught me like a bug. So nope, no escaping now. 'Til your next vids. 😊
Sending the link to my daughter. A few years back she worked not far from Salcedo Market. I love your spunk, Josie! Is Josie a common Australian name? Here it is a common nickname for women named Josephine. There are lots of Josephines and Josies here who are in their 50s today.
Haha thank you!!!! That’s so lovely! 😁😁😁 no Josie is not common at all in Australia hahaha I’ve met maybe 6 other Josie’s in my whole life. I was actually named after my grandpa who’s name was Joseph! Haha and my full name is Josephine but don’t use it for anything! Always Josie! 😂😁
Pilipinos are the friendliest people on the planet especially to foreigners .
I just Subscribed and love you full embrace of the Philippines, people, food, and culture!
Hi #josieliftsthings. I enjoy watching your videos and seeing you how you appreciate our cultures amd Filipinos being so friendly , because hospitality is one of the filipinos culture. Try to visiit Tagaytay. Its quite near in Manila. Try the BULALO in tagaytay, try the famous JOLLIBEE fast food restaurant. For sure youll gonna have a lot of Filipino viewers/ subscribers. Hope you will enjoy your stay in Philippines and looking forward here for more videos of you in Philippines. Take care and enjoy.😍😍😍🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
Thank you so much!!! Thank you for the recommendations! I definitely need to try jollibee!! 😂😂😁🙏🏻
Buko is a liquid inside young coconuts is often preferred to the liquid of a ripened coconut.Coconut water from young green coconuts is also known specifically as buko juice in Philippine
I'm so sorry about the honking of horns. It's a common thing that is being used here, I know in Canada and the US or Australia horns are not used frequently.
China and the Philippines are the same about honking. Maybe we got it from the Chinese. Lack of patience.
Honking is pretty used frequently in the US and Canada. Especially when they saw someone famous or one they know. It's a way of drivers saying "Hey!" To a person or them saying "please get out of the way because i might hit you accidentally".
Hahaha you’re right about Australia though, we only beep the horn if we’re really mad basically 😂😂😂 Don’t hear it often hahaha but I should be more used to it by now 😂😂
Happy for you cuz your enjoy here stayin in phil.food, place and a happy people youl encounter....
