I’ll never forget being a kid and getting a Tmnt comic in the late 80’s. I was expecting a comic version of the cartoon, but I opened it and got Leonardo stabbing some goon in the eye with chopsticks. 😂
That’s Raphael
The trade collection published by Heavy Metal has several pages of Eastman's layouts included, and also Eastman's claim of comics' highest flying eyeball count.
That Raph is disguise in #3 is Cyber straight out of Kieth's Marvel Comics Presents story!
Idea of Bisley hanging with Kanye gave me a whiplash... and then it suddenly made total sense.
I remember finding out about this series a few years back and being so baffled by its tone. Also was my introduction to Bisley.
I love it now for what it is but at first read I just didn't know what to think.
Bisley is one of my favourite artists. I first discovered him in the pages of 2000ad.
I haven't read this yet but it's been on my radar for a while now 👍
Bisley really has a Kriscfalusci like take on drawing Rapheal. Not one face resembles one from another panel. Very bizarre
Great Vid Gents. A Trencher walk through would be pretty cool. However, Ya’ll Mentioned Jason Pearson’s Body Bags, which would be an Exciting run through. I’d be down for that! Have a Great One Guys!
Bis is the man
This was my first TMNT comic, and after an infancy watching the first two films and animated series, this probably scarred me
Alright I’ve been waiting for you guys to cover this!
I discovered John Woo from VHS. The ones that I know were available is Hard Boiled and the Killer dubbed in English.
This is a great one. Here's one more vote for a Trencher video. Stay awesome, dudes!!!
Imagine that. LOBOCOP - the movie.
Those issues are absolutely bonkers! The inking feels so inconsequential, it’s purely wonderful.
Thanks for raising the value of my collection again (with another book I treasure) 😆
The spanish edition of these issues had some layouts as extras, I actually remember them as pretty finished pages with Bisley doing his version on top of them.
About time guys been waiting for this for a long time
Ed, just got #2 of Trigger Warnings, and have to say there has been a progression since the first issue of this series and the four from The Antisocial Network. You really crammed a lot on each page, and I really enjoyed the storytelling with the note progressing with each page. I really didn’t expect the ending.
Jim, a few months I picked up The Guild The Library Edition. I’ve watched the entire web series at least 50 times, and I really like your work on it and excited for Hulk Grand Design.
You two are awesome. I recommended Red Room to a video game/comic shop in ephrata, PA, Complete in Box. I don’t know if they sell, but if it’s not too far from you and you have some free time I’d suggest checking it out. I’m originally from NJ but reside in CO, I tell a lot of people about your work and also Jim’s.
The kayfabe effect can’t get me if I already have the book haha super stoked to see this pop up in my notifications today
Lol. I always get a sigh of relief too when the latest vid is for a book I already secured.
maybe the stroudsberg sign is a nod to frazetta?
I remember the song "bodycount" at the end credits of UNIVERSAL SOLDIER!
love these comics, the hard cover reprint isn't too bad either.
Image likes to bring underground/alternative comic book characters into image
Some Trencher coverage would be great. I still can't make sense of the books but I enjoy looking at them and wondering how they were drawn.
Shout-out to Pittsburg, Kansas, my hometown! It's usually people adding an H to our name to make it look like the more famous Pittsburgh!
love it!
The Highbrow Ent. logo was actually done as a parody of the Legends line logo...
Hey when I was a kid I remember there being a Turtles comic that had Raph by himself in a snowy area and I think he was fighting a warewolf. Do you have any idea what that is? I remember sneaking off to a convenience store one time when I was like 7 or 8, unbeknownst to my mom, and I remember thinking I'd ask her to buy it for me but then she'd know I snuck off, so I kept this memory secret until recently when I finally admitted to my mom what I did lol. It was definitely in the 90s, maybe in 95-97.
Sounds like Raphael: Bad Moon Rising
The most metal collaboration in comicdom!
This series is fantastic.
Those turtles have tumors for veins!
"Jim Lee's TMNT" had no Leonardo!
Love this comic! I own the hard to find trade
I bought a copy of the hardcover edition on eBay, practically mint for $20. It’s the Top Shelf edition less than a year ago. Now Amazon it selling one at $1200. What? 😅
Kinda wish ypu hadn't done this series, LOL, cuz the books were already like 12 to 20 someodd a book and I just... my budget aches.
You can really see the Eastman on these pages, just with Biz details. Gotta say, those colors are real bad tho.
Amazing art but ugly phoned-in lettering.
