Live Live Live , when it comes to Nightwish
Only once there is an official release of a live version. The currently available, non-official, live versions can't hold a candle to the lyric version of Shoemaker. Although the concerts are great, the recordings unfortunately are not.
@@wimg.2377 2 hellfest and Deichbrand but my personal favorite is a Fancam

There's a live version, and Floor sings as perfectly as on this one, that makes her unique, not many can perform so well live. By the way, this is an official lyrics music video. You have just scratched the surface, there's so many great songs that you haven't heard yet. This is a band that doesn't have any bad songs, no filler on their albums.
Shoemaker is at the level of Ghost love score, the greatest show on earth, the poet and the pendulum, a masterpiece,by Thuomas, performed perfectly by Floor and the whole band,
The Hellfest live version is awesome,
and a
On the slower section, Troy is on lead in stereo, Marko is panned left and Floor panned right. During the asteroid scene, the predominant sound is Troy playing his guitar with an EBow, giving that haunting, off pitch sound.
That is Troy singing with Floor.🤘🎸
And Marko! There is three voices...
For me..Floor is the best front woman for a band ever. Troy and Marko is singing on this tribute to Eugene Shoemaker with Floor. Nightwish a crazy good band from the nicest country in The world..Finland. 😉
I would agree normally with studio recordings first. HOWEVER… Nightwish is the exception. LIVE IS THE WAY TO GO. I promise you, and start with 2013 Wacken Open Air concert. Floor’s major festival debut with Nightwish. Start finish all solid gold. Best concert ever!
Thank you for reacting to this. It is written for/about Eugene Shoemaker, who is the only human to have his ashes on the Moon. The inscription on his casket has the quote from 'Romeo & Juliet', voiced by Johanna Kurkela (Tuomas' wife) on the song. Troy Donockley joined Nightwish in 2013 at the same time as Floor, and features here as the dominant male vocal. Marko sings the harmonised tenor line, but is less prominent in the mix. Take care
You are the ONLY reactor out of about 300 that has said something about the lyric video....If you continue with Nightwish, please do the LIVE version's....
When you want to go further on the path of our 1.83m (6ft.+) tall Dutch Valkyrie Queen Floor Jansen besides Nightwish, here is some background information on the best and most versitale female singer of our time. Floor joined the band 'After Forever' in 1997 at the age of 16. Here are some of my favourites: ‘Energize me’; Monolith of Doubt’ and Dreamflight’.
Floor attended the then new Rock Academy in 1999 and graduated in 2003. She also studied 2 years at the Conservatory (1 year Music Theatre and 1 year Opera).
'After Forever' disbanded in 2009 and Floor started her own band 'Revamp' from scratch. Here she experimented with different vocal styles within one song from full operatic to death growls in seconds. Here are some examples: ‘Misery’s no Crime’, ‘Wild card’ and ‘Disdain’.
Besides managing a band on her own she also did a lot of vocal coaching and as she is a perfectionist, she wants to do everything at 100%+. Eventually she had to pay the price and got a burnout. She had just recovered when end of september 2012 the call came from Nightwish to fill in for the remainder of the North American Tour at first as their second singer Annette got ill. Floor had just 48 hours to learn the whole setlist. There is a documentary made of this world tour: ‘Please learn the setlist in 48 hours’
Floor joined Nightwish after the iconic Wacken concert in 2013 as permanent member of the band. Floor continued to perform with 'Revamp’ also, but it was clear that she could not combine the two for much longer, so 'Revamp' disbanded in 2016. Floor did a side project called 'Northward' where she dived into the Hard Rock scene. The song 'While Love Died is a must see.
Her stunning performances on the Dutch TV show 'Beste Zangers 2019' gave her at last some more recognition in her home country where she was relatively unknown until then. There are numerous guest appearances with other bands to find on UA-cam. To see how to get a crowd of metalheads silenced and in awe watch her featuring with the band 'Epica' and the song 'Stabat Mater Dolorosa’ and to see her in full opera mode, watch her rendition of 'O Mio Babbino Caro' from Puccini. As live concerts were cancelled and home isolation due to the Covid situation, Floor discovered UA-cam in these years. Mindblowing covers, chats with her idols and other singers, vocal masterclasses, personal insights and so much more. She even made a video reacting to herself singing Ghost Love Score at Wacken. Lots of technical info and some memories of her starting with Nightwish.
Also her Fan Friday videos are hilarious. Just unpack some of these and other presents she left on her channel. Also videos of her solotour she did with songs of her impressive career. Her latest endeavour is her stunning solo album ‘My Paragon. Floor is a high sensitive person, so peace and quiet is as important for her. Living by the woods in Sweden with her husband Hannes Van Dahl (drummer of the band Sabaton), daughters Freja (turned 7 years this march) and Lucy (born last october) ,a couple of horses, dogs and cats, she found this.
You should see Floor do this live with Nightwish at Hellfest 2022 in France or at the Deichbrand 2022 Festival in Germany. Here's the link to the Deichbrand performance: ua-cam.com/video/fHaBDZYOP0I/v-deo.html
Very good link for a Reactor who never hear or see live. Greetings from nothern Germany 🤘
That singing of the chorus wasn't Marko, it was Troy leading with both other vocalists backing him.
And yes, it is very much storytelling. Look up Eugene Shoemaker and the story they are telling in this amazing eulogy to a true legend of space exploration, and the only man ever to have his remains interred on another celestial body.
For Nightish, the studio versions are, effectively, to allow fans to learn the lyrics for the full experience at the live shows.
Going through the setlist at Wacken Open Air 2013 is pretty much a compulsory part of the Nightwish journey.
A little bit of Tarja, a little bit of Annette and a lot of Floor = the perfect Nightwish singer.
Marko was on this album, but that's Troy singing with Floor on the chorus. And the lyric video IS the official video, so you got the right one. Nightwish records with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, so that's where the strings you're hearing are coming from. This song is about geologist Eugene Shoemaker, the only human whose remains are interred on the moon.
It is both Troy and Marko in the chorus. Troy is center, Marko on the left and Floor on the right.
Lo más loco es que
Nigthwish suena MEJOR EN DIRECTO
Siempre me desilusionaba con los directos......
Nigthwish rompió el molde .....❤❤❤
Not sure whether you are aware that the song is about Eugene Shoemaker, the planetary geologist who worked with NASA and whose ashes were carried to the moon on a probe that they crashed on the moon. The Shakespeare quote was carved on the urn that carried his ashes. Many of the songs Floor sings live are songs from the previous singers so Floor has no studio version of the songs. Nemo, Ghost Love Score. Romanticide, Ever Dream are some of the songs that come to mind. Perhaps do a comparison? Thomas does work with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the London Metro Voices and the London Young voices choir.
I had no idea! This is why I love the comments. Y'all educate me about so much lol. The story is interesting and kinda bad ass. This makes me excited to hear more Nightwish and hear and see what other stories they bring. Thanks for the info! 🤘
Studio and lyric videos prior to the last 2 albums will be with the prior singers, Floor's recorded versions of these songs will be live. Nightwish live versions are professionally produced by the band's production and video team, so quality is high.
If you want to go with the recent studio/videos with Floor, there are videos for Elan, and Endless Forms Most Beautiful. There are some good music videos from the most recent album. The songs like Music, Tribal, Noise, Pan, Procession and Ad Astra may be interesting to you. Only Tribal, Noise, and Ad Astra have been played live, with Tribal following the intro from Music. Marko is the lead singer in Endlessness. Only Tribal has an official Nightwish produced live video at this time, but that is likely to change.
It is Troy singing with Marko in the background of Troy's voice. If that makes sense.
recommended days for a Nightwish day are Monday till Sunday - each day one :)))
Well, there are a few nice live registrations of Nightwish performing this song - some thought that was impossible. Both Troy and Marco doing backing vocals. Marco left after that album Human || Nature was released.
First time a Nightwish singer has used Opera and I hope the new album they are making continues to use this style, it's beautiful.
vocals: Floor, Marko, Troy and choir i think
I don't know of a satisfactory live version of this song. The problem isn't the band, it's the guy at the mixing desk. That's why I recommend this version. For me you did everything right. Basically, Floor Live sounds better because she thrives on the audience. The more people there are, the better she sounds.
Since Once (2004) they have used an orchestra for the orchestral recordings.
You haven't heard Floor's full range yet. She is more than just her two predecessors combined:
NIGHTWISH - Yours Is An Empty Hope (LIVE)
Floor has only released two LPs with Nightwish. The third will be released this year. The Wacken concert was before the first LP. Of the 4 live concerts, most of the songs are from their predecessors.
I watch reaction videos when I have time and feel like it. So any time is ok for me.
There is no similar song by Tarja and Anette because this song is a mix of both. Tarja only sang classically in Nightwish, Anette is only a pop singer. Floor is both and more.
Marko left the band after the recordings. He can now imagine coming back when the management is completely renewed. The problem should be solvable, regardless of Marko's return.
I concur. The formula is: Tarja x Anette = Floor 😜🤘Cheers!
Another song not typical even for a symphonic metal band is Procession. It is only available as a studio version. I think it is very impressive and emotional.
Floor has a vocal range from C3 to F6, which translates into 3 octaves & 3 notes, but SCARDUST's Noa Gruman has a range from C2 to G6, which is 4 octaves & 4 notes. This means that Noa can go one full octave lower & one note higher than Floor can.
Good one but do it live Hellfest 2022
Troy has the deeper vocal part and, in my headphones anyway, I can hear Marko singing higher than Troy in my left ear :)
The spoken word part is Tuomas' wife, Johanna Kurkela. (An awesome singer and musician in her own right)
The Human|Nature album was released at the beginning of COVID.
🤘🏽 Brother Great Reaction ❤
Great reaction, Floor is the best❤live is the best VERSION always in case of FLOOR
🤗🍒🤘🏻 great job ! But.... It was Troy
Dude, you have to do this live "Hellfest 2022! Preferably, the studio doesn't broadcast the same experience
Or Deichbrand
The main voice in the harmonies is from Troy, but you can hear Marko on the right and Floor on the left.
Thanks
Helloo! React "Yours is an empty hope" and "last ride of the day at Rock in Rio.

Those goosebumps? You just had was has officially been named a "Floorgasm". 😁 As for studio vs live, don't let commenter opinions automatically override your own. In my opinion NW studio audio is great, NW music videos (even lyric videos) add to that with visuals that often go really well with the music. NW Live is really a whole different experience. It is kind of unfair to say it is "better" than studio. The term "better" is very subjective. It depends on your preferences, and those may vary. It is kind of like comparing apples and grapes. Both are fruit, but the experience of consuming them is very different. NW is fantastic Live, and the Live recordings are very well done. Seeing them interacting with each other and with the crowd, along with the often spectacular stage shows, is something you just can't get from studio. The audio is so good on those recordings, they are on my playlist. After having seen the video many times, I can visualize it when listening to the audio. Again, a whole different experience than studio. OTOH, I listen to studio when I want to focus on the music, and only the music.
A number of the songs on the last album never made it to live, probably due to Covid so reacting to the lyric videos on that album should not be an issue for anyone. There are some classics on that album that have not been performed live yet.
its troy

No, not Marko, it is Troy.
I particularly enjoyed you moaning over the music. Keep it up, you ARE the show.
Not Marko, its Troy
Its Troy the Scotish guy
English, not Scottish.
