    Have just picked up a 2021 Wildtrak X myself - your tub setup is the best I have seen...absolutely love it!!

    Im pleased to see someone using a Ranger to its full potential. Here in the UK they are all used for the school run, Chelsea tractors.
    Safe travels 🤙

      Thanks mate, appreciate the comments. In SA they are used for more utilitarian purposes, but you do get the “Chelsea” crowd here too - all show! 😊

    EVERYONE uses traction boards for leveling more than recovery :) That's a great setup, thanks for the walkaround!

    I think 4x2 will get you too a lot of camping places. Those max tracks and diff-lock will save you!

      Agreed. If you know how to drive it properly, a 4x2 will get you most places.

    Simplicity at its best.

    • @CampSeekerAfrica
      @CampSeekerAfrica  9 місяців тому

      KISS principle applies - keep it simple stupid. No need to overcomplicate. The more complicated the setup, the more that can go wrong - and more weight, less space etc. It’s all about compromise and I opted for simplicity! Thanks for watching and for commenting- much appreciated!

    Great review. Did you fit everything on the bakkie by yourself or is there a shop i can go to get the same set up like yours?

      Thanks for watching, and for the comment. Much appreciated. The racks I had installed by Front Runner, in Kyalami. You can buy the racks and install them yourself, but for me it was easier just to get Front Runner to fit them for me. The drawer system in the back of the vehicle, I built and fitted myself with a mate.

    Hi, How have you found the reliability of your Ford for camping in the bush? I have a 2021 Everest 2.0 bi-turbo with a 10-speed transmission and want to take trips to Bots and Kalagadie, but I am still a bit nervous. I must also add that I am towing a Companion camper as well.

    • @CampSeekerAfrica
      @CampSeekerAfrica  5 місяців тому +1

      I personally haven’t had any issues with my Ranger. I also have the 2.0 bi-turbo engine. I sometimes tow my Metalian trailer on trips and So far I’ve not had a problem with reliability. Check out Jason from Epic Africa’s page. He was driving the 2.0 bi-turbo Raptor for a while and he did a number of Kgalagadi trips whilst towing a Bush Lapa caravan, so I am sure you won’t have any issues with reliability.

    Hi. Question about your batteries. What is the rangers main battery and the National Lunas DC25 battery? do they have to be the same?

    • @CampSeekerAfrica
      @CampSeekerAfrica  7 місяців тому

      Howzit. No, the starter battery and the battery in the NL DC25 don’t have to be the same. I have a 100Ah dry cell battery in the DC25 (it can also take lithium). Not sure what my starter battery is to be honest. But the DC25 is wired to the starter battery and alternator via an under-chassis wiring harness, so it charges while driving.

    Is it a 4x4 or it is not necessary

    • @CampSeekerAfrica
      @CampSeekerAfrica  6 місяців тому +1

      Mine is a 4x2. Depending on the type of overlanding you want to do and types of places you want to go, a 4x4 is not strictly necessary. A 4x4 is nice though as it opens up a lot more options!
