Sirui really knows how to deliver premium lenses, but the TTArtisan 75mm f/2 caught my eye for its portability. For everyday use, would the smaller size make a big difference?
A company like Sirui should over-allocate resources to improving autofocus, and try to solve this FIRST before developing a lens lineup. They suffer from years of negative reputation and it takes a long time to work past that stigma..before people stop being afraid of the company's autofocus. I just asked a few photographers and videographers if they will consider a Sirui or TTArtisan or 7Artisan and they all said the same thing *"too afraid of the autofocus"*
@@zyxyuv1650 thats exactly the feedback I gave to them directly mentioning how good sales Viltrox has on e.g. their 27 and 75mm f1.2 PRO models cuz they really stepped up their quality. No one will want to buy STM focus lenses in 2025 so they better improve soon!
Unfortunately not compatible with my Sony A7III for photos. Compatible for video which does not interest me. Sirui says working on firmware, but gave no timeline. Check compatibility on the Sirui site before buying.
Another great video brother! Apart from the auto focus that 85mm does look pretty reliable. 85mm is definitely a focal length I wanna have in my bag in the future. Thank you for the review as always! 🙌🏻🙌🏻
@@bynunoalves 85 is a must. It was my first “real” prime and probably was the one that made getting nice shots the easiest, however more and more I am getting closer to 35mm as my fav focal length.
@@TomsJurjakswell 35 is usually that sweet spot for more cinematic compositions, even for portraits. I love the look for all types of shots, close, medium and wide, to tell a story. Just unfortunate that I dont have access to the lenses I want and/or need 🥲 haha
@bynunoalves i hear you brother. For casual shooting I honestly think that Aurora series is gonna be a serious contender. I will aim to get the next additions too. I hope they make 24, 35 and 50mm f1.2
@@TegmaCreation Sigma 85mm f1.4 or Sony 85mm f1.4 GMII is a better lens and can’t recommend them enough, however they are 2x or even 3x more expensive. So for the price - Sirui is great. Much better than Meike.
The Sirui lens looks amazing, but at nearly twice the price of the TTArtisan 75mm f/2, I’m not sure it’s worth it. The TTArtisan is lighter, and for most portrait work, f/2 is plenty bright.
Such a shame about the focus motor, and it also seems like the photos have really low contrast. On a budget it will be a great lens, but for faster stuff only the Sony is viable.
When these brands will start implementing Linear XD motors, then Sony will be in trouble. Btw the contrast is good - it was me who reduced it while editing the photos, thats my preset style for portraits. RAWs looked great!
Which focal length you wanna see next from Sirui Aurora series? 👀
35 mm!!! And 135!😊
Ohh yes, not sure if Sirui will make 135, but Viltrox will send me their 135 mm f1.8 LAB 🙉
105mm f1.4
@ oh that would be interesting
@@TomsJurjaks Yes, only few manufacturers are taking that focal point. On FF, that is a sweet spot than 135.
looks like a winner!
Yeah man, it kinda grows on you.
Thank you for real example how can look photo with this lens without preset yet!

I'd wish, Sigma Art would produce them for NIKON Z's, but since they don't, I have to look around. I wonder if that gets close to Nikons 85mm 1.8?
Did you correct for chromatic abberations in the edited photos?

Do you plan on doing a long term review after a few months?
I will probably end up comparing it with some other 85mm given how quickly new lenses arrive from so many brands 😀
For real? this is worth it or you have any reference for buy the other lens?
