      did you stick with it? if yes, hows your progress looking? im just now starting. luckily i have over a year to get decent, but in the end thats not a very long time for learning something like this, luckily i do have a drawing pad that will make this easier. cause im developing games, and with current road map, within 1-2 years, ill be starting a project that requires me to create anime style detailed characters (like in honkai star rail or genshin).

      If you need to make a base mesh for any humanoid creature, I recommend throwing down a Rigify Armature and manipulating it into the proportions you want, then just placing UV spheres at all major body areas (head, shoulders, etce). Manipulate the UV spheres to cover the armature, join all shapes. Remesh. Get to work!
      The way this guy sculpts is amazing but for people who really know their anatomy.

    9:05 hair block
    9:38 for large strands he used oval primitive then move brush to adj it
    1:48:50 result not bad, but seems easier and more accurate form ref if use the curve obj tool instead for hair

    Nico, you are really fu...ng strong and true with every word!
    You're amazing and the best sculptor around.
    Let"the people" say what they want...
    I'm looking forward to your new course. Just the announcement "it will be the most complex character I've ever made" kept me jaw dropping. Cause your characters are always GREAT! And I never regret one second buying your course (the mouse).
    It was fun, entertaining and I had a real good result and learned very much.
    I hope I can ever get back my confidence to restart new in 3d.
    Thanks for your personal help btw while doing the course!
    Wish you the best! 🙂💯👍🏼
    Thx! Marco

    you did in 2 hours more then I achieved in 2 weeks on my first 3d character that I even made image references for, short story that made me give up on 3d because it did come out looking like my ref. but it had no soul it looked like something from 80s low quality 3d cartoons, and I'll never understand how this is remotely possible

      Don't give up! First characters always come out poorly. I'm I'm a pro sculptor now but it took me about 8 yrs to find a job. Try Zbrush, it's industry standard. Start simple, with someone else's simple concepts and work your way up to complex humans.

    The painting looks a lot like miniature war painting, similar to warhammer miniatures. You want a base layer sprayed on, and then add colour on top, looks great from a distance and much easier than trying to manually add shadows.

    • @arturzyn
      @arturzyn 9 місяців тому +3

      yes it will
      when in T pose itseasy to rig and set even and symetrical geometry
      a modle created already in pose you would need to rig the character and then move the bones to T pose
      with lots of problematic topology and weird deformations

    • @lincolnreinert1205
      @lincolnreinert1205 9 місяців тому +2

      The expected product from a sculpt such as this is that: a sculpture, these are used either for rendering still images or maybe with some touch-up and depending on the level of detail you could get it to a level where you could 3d-print it. A model for animation will usually come from orthogonal reference sheets and go through layers of optimization and retopology to have a lower poly count and good edge flow.

    • @caden.does.musicc
      @caden.does.musicc 9 місяців тому +1

      This is a fairly high poly model. My workflow would normally be something like.
      Sculp something like this -> do retopology (to get a lower polygon count mesh, which is easier to animate) -> bake the high poly onto textures for the low poly -> create a skeleton for the low poly -> animate

    I’d prefer cross to remain out from this kind of “pop culture”. It’s hard to do, but this is a religious symbol that would deserve respect. In any case, excellent work.

    • @antoniosottomayor6252
      @antoniosottomayor6252 7 місяців тому +2

      I feel like limiting iconography isn't valid in art. If there's meaning or an idea you're trying to convey I think it's valid. Sure you can always make a fictitious symbol but sometimes there are contrasts. I personally haven't seen a lot of Christian crusader elfs the idea is novel imo. But I can see how the cross isn't particularly necessary for the concept illustration. But still I don't think art should be restricted.
