That actually runs in my family. My grandfather who passed due to alcoholism made me promise him I'd never drink, and 27 years old I have never had a sip of alcohol. He saved me from a life of dependency on it, I hope to see him again some day and tell him I kept that promise.

Almost like it wouldn't affect me then the next thing I knew I was messed up. When I was seventeen I out drank a whole party of people. By the end of the night everybody was laying on the floor passed out and I was still just sitting there smoking. I can do this today. I can easily take five or six shots back-to-back and that is like a warm up for me. FYI I don't drink anymore but it still the same

I felt strange for a couple of days and that was it. Every once in awhile for the first 6 months I would want a drink randomly and had to catch myself but other than that no real withdrawal symptoms. I would advise you to not take my advice though. From what my doctor has told me there are not many people who can quit drinking with a snap of the fingers and not go into the dt's after a while. It actually astounded my doctor. If you want to quit at least go to a doctor, they make medication that can lessen the withdrawal effects if you experience them. You can do it.

I have serious social anxiety and brain errors, but when I drink, it all pretty much disappears. I drink about once a month. The rest of the time I don't see anyone or barely even leave the house. So people know me as the outgoing social extrovert who makes friends everywhere I go, but really I speak approximately once per month, drunk, and the rest of the time I hide in my house, barely capable of forming a sentence. Just today I had a plumber come in, and it took me about 30 words to say something simple, because I couldn't find the words. A really funny example of this was when a girl sent me a message that she wants to fuck. I thought she was joking so we met up, and then I found out she was serious. The only thing I managed to fuck was up. She never called me again. We talked and she said she had thought that I was a total fuckboy or something, when I am the absolute opposite. This whole thing made me realize what a duality I live in, and how nobody on planet earth knows who I am, not even my friends, really.

I understand you. When you drink, you can talk to anyone. Sober you would rather live under a rock. We are here for an important reason. One friend said it's liquid courage...... just don't abuse it. Makes sense to me. Stay strong, brother.

As an introvert that’s been clinically diagnosed with attention deficit at an early age, alcohol really increases my concentration and extroversion. My working memory is cleared from most distractions that are typically there, and I’m more witty and closer to being the life of the party. It’s kind of sad, because I don’t want to drink to get the same social abilities as an extrovert with no working memory problems, but drinking usually helps with all of that.

I found out that your body can stop you from being able to drink. From 15-17 I could drink like my life depended on it . 17th birthday I chugged 2 cans then 710ml of vodka . Then 6 drinks all in 10 minutes . At my house with some friends . then i woke up to my entire family in my bedroom looking furious . Then i woke up 7 hours later upstairs instead of downstairs . Apparently they woke me up I went to the bathroom pissed all over the floor and then tried to go back to bed . and someone showed me a video of me unconscious standing up and then falling into a wall

I have a friend like this, she would almost always get blackout drunk because no amount slowed her down. She was tiny too, and even big dudes were under the table. Half Irish half Salvadoran, probably didn't matter though. You could always tell when she slipped into blackout because she got super honest and less subtle. The crazier thing was she never seemed to get hangovers, she would always be the first up in the morning, making breakfast and leaving glasses of water with people out on the couches, she was really nice most of the time. Of course, I had to carry her out of several bars, and every time a bartender or door guy was like "yeah, we were just about to cut her off/throw her out" and I was like "nah, I know when she's done". She never really drank water either, just juice and beer and occasional soda.. When we finally convinced her to start drinking more water (mostly by finally showing her video of some of her blackouts in an intervention style setting), it sort of improved....but she also seemed like she drank alcohol faster until after a couple weeks, being hydrated all the time she started drinking less, started exercising and, well lets just say her work life and choices in men have improved dramatically haha it was quite a profound and inspiring change to witness. When I first met her I thought she was a total sociopath, because I didn't know her sober then and chronic blackout drunks tend to be a bit pathological, but then I realized she's just a depressed girl who can drink like a fish, luckily she had a lot of friends who were willing to sit her down hard but also support her

It is quite sad to see the way drinking culture has degenerated, in Scotland anyway - you don't sit down at a meal with a drink, or have a few pints with some pals over a game of football anymore, instead you all get together in a room, get hammered, and do nothing really
