I thought I was the only one doing this. I live in ND and it is part of my winter survival equipment. I connect it to a 20 pound tank , the run time is calculated to be 80 hours. The only problem is it is way to Powerful. They make a smaller one that screws on the top of a 1 pound bottle. As soon as I see it on sale. I am buying one
Kentucky here. Just popped in to this vid to thank you again for the great info you put out folloing your Texas power outage. We're on day 6 of outage since the bad windstorm knocked out power. We are doing well with our comination of solar and generator power options you described. Good job.
Brilliant idea with the welding blankets. I grabbed those up to go on top of some wool blankets in my current attempt to expedite getting my truck cab toasty in the mornings and clearing the windows. It’s an older diesel truck and takes forever if you’re just at idle to get up to temp even with the block heater. I don’t plan to be inside the cab with it though but don’t want to burn the truck either. I live in KY and use these in small drafty spaces and often I’ll run on low and then even run the pilot light only until the enclosure cools down a bit and then it’s very quick to get back to low.
@@LoneStarPrepping Yeah. I guess if you are talking mini heaters for your living room under the best conditions, it is not going to be ideal. For my money there is nothing better for camping, emergency use, garage, etc.
The Wave sips the propane and lasts a lot longer than mr heater and there is no smell and no open flame. It is not as portable, for sure. The mr heater feels like it has a more intense heat. I did a review on both heaters and I use both heaters.
As well as a Buddy heater, I also have an antique Perfection kerosene heater. Should the electricity go down, this will suffice. They were used in millions of homes from theb1880's to the early 1900's before electricity. The nice thing about these is when your kerosene runs out, you can use olive oil or other waste oils.
Great idea with the welders blanket. I’m going to get one of these or the smaller one for my suv until I buy my van. Just doing my research on everything and buying supplies before I move but it’s going to be before Christmas and I work remotely so I need to keep my laptop from freezing as well as myself.
@@LoneStarPrepping I just found I can buy refillable 1lb tanks from Costco and fill them myself from a bigger tank some how… not sure if I want to store a 20lb in the vehicle lol. I do have a storage unit.
I dont see why not if you follow all safety items in the manual. I useca 20 lound tank. You need to learn about problems with hoses and filters etc... You might want to call Mr Heater.

Thanks for watching. Ill include you and your family with my prayers. Power outages in the cold can be difficult.

Smart! Keeping it in your car! 🚗 all this info was helpful in RV too. Didn't know they made a carry bag
The carrying bag is really handy! Nice to have everything in one place.
Thank you so much for doing this video on the Mr. Heater. But since you mentioned the electric blanket. I want to watch that video next!
A DC blanket is nice. We use the portable power statiin when we travek, go camping, or even go to park.
The buddy heater is amazing in so many ways. I don't think there's another option out there that can beat it overall.
Depends what you want it for. For us, we prefer the Olympian Wave 8 Heater for our living room.

@@LoneStarPrepping Oh wow. I had never looked into the Wave-8. But we are talking 4-5 times the price. That is not apples to apples.
Oh, believe me... I know, and I make that perfectly clear in my reviews.
I’d like to hear more about how/ where you use the welder’s blanket. Seems like a handy thing to have.
We just lay it down and put the heater on top of it to protect the floor in the home and car.
Good idea with the welding blanket on the roof.
Thanks. It works great.
great video

I have 2 Dietz kerosene lamps. They work great!

Just be sure it is not a fiberglass blanket. You will get glass all over your skin and it itches bad.
@@LoneStarPrepping I found one that says it’s a carbon fibre material on Amazon. Haven’t bought it yet though. Thanks for your advice 🙂
I think I have the one I use listed under the description on my video.

Great idea for a worst-case Cisneros . Love the hat!🇺🇸
Thank you for watching.
Good video , thanks for sharing , God bless !
Thank you.
I use mine in an off grid cabin , plus when hydro goes out here in Muskoka Ontario Canada
How do you like it? Any complaints?
@@LoneStarPrepping I use both the small 1 pound and a 20 pound with filters and hose... love it use at ot home the retreat .. purchasing another
I use it all the time. Just keep all the four windows cracked open little bit and use at least two carbon monoxide detectors and you’ll be fine.
And follow all the other guidelines I talked about and safety directions in manual.
My heater is out in my work truck so I use one of these. I crack the window and stomp the gas & get where I'm going
Can i use by big 7.7 kg propane tank ?
