They simply were THE best!! Those tight horns and vocals, Phil's great falsetto vocals. Live they were just as perfect as their recordings (I was lucky enough to see them in OMAHA of all places!), and there are VERY few bands you can say that about!!!!!! As a musician myself, probably one of the greatest things that set this band apart from ANY other is the unusual key changes and chord progressions in their music. Nothing standard, not the same old chord progressions you hear in just about every other artist's songs. Heck at high school in 1976 our music teacher even had us analyze their music, identifying the key changes, the unusual chord progressions and the vocal harmonies, and he was a devoted classical music teacher! This was a super group before there were really any supergroups, and here, in 2024, their music STILL sounds as fresh and innovative as it was 50 years ago! That just goes to enforce how much sheer genius and talent these guys had. NOBODY now, or dare I say, in the future can ever be as musically unique as EWF!

I had the privilege of spending time with Mr. "MO" White at The Sony Music Studio in Santa Monica CA. back in the early 90's assisting Mr. White on behalf of Sony/Columbia Records. Mr. "MO" White assisted I call him "MO" handed Me The DAT Tape of The Greatest Cobollation Album in 1992 to Secure It then give it to the Currier when he arrived and was cleared by the security. I'm a child of the 60's and the 70's now I've been Guitar for over forty plus years and I have MO White and Every Member of EWF to Thank for it.

I remembered watching this when it first aired. I miss Live By Request. They need to bring it back. I just saw them in concert last night. OMG It was amazing. Philip’s amazing range. At 70, he can still hit those high notes. Verdine has so much energy. It’s amazing. This was my first concert since last year. Also I saw them 20 years ago and it took 20 years to see them again. My only regret was not seeing Maurice with them. By the time I saw them in 2001, he had stopped touring.

I have been a fan of them since I was a child, I had the opportunity to see them live in Chile in Santiago and it was a magical night, I traveled from the south of Chile to be there, they once performed twice in Chile, at the Viña festival and later in Santiago. They are always missed in Chile. RIP Maurice White.

Maurice White is and was the originator and leader of this group and will be the greatest musician and lyricist of their songs. He just seemed to know what words fit best to the music to prove himself to be a poet. Who can top the falsetto voice of Phillip Bailey except the guy with the Stylistics while Maurice had a great voice too. Together Phillip and Maurice were one of the greatest duos of our time. Their music is timeless and will forever be played by us; our children; and their children until we meet Jesus!!! I bet GOD was listening when they played here and has Maurice singing to Him sometimes waiting on the rest of the group to join him for a concert for GOD; lol!!!
This was a journey down memory lane for me. So rhythmic and musical...EWF you were always special...loved the guys' groovy, artistic dance moves and instrumentals... The ladies' wardrobe and dance moves add a different 'flavor'. It was never really about sexiness. But I loved this experience! Thank you, Earth, Wind & Fire!❤

The ladies' wardrobe and dance moves add a different 'flavor'. It was never really about sexiness. But I loved this experience! Thank you, Earth, Wind & Fire!❤
