We bought a '72 Red 1.7 right hand drive conversion in 1997 for $10,000. It was a beauty that wasn't appreciated in Australia, as there were so few on the road.
Very nice car, nice video. Does anybody remember the Swap Sheet from the 70s? I used to buy it every week for fifty cents, and lust after all the used cars for sale! Cheers from the Finger Lakes!
@@johanboes1He explained it is a dealer option -not factory option. I have had dealer installed A/C unit’s. Authorized to be Installed prior to the car’s first sale. Consider a Mustang C/S(not factory) or a Shelby prepped Mustang. Examples of non-factory mods still “as sold” and not discounted by collectors.
4 cylinder, not a six. No 6 cylinder with a central air cleaner. Had 2 ,73 1.7, 74 1.8 Always wanted to do a one-off with a 928 engine in it' to keep it pure. No LS swap for me
Amazing but the wood dash material and the Porsche badge shifter knob are not original / at least not on any I've owner up here in Canada. Still an amazing peace WOW
You may have seen it but neither are factory options / check with Automobile Atlanta / The leading N.Americian expert on 914 / Mr. George Hussey will set you straight.@@racingdatasystems3708

great restoration job
Absolutely love the 914
74'000 miles of pure fun that man has had
He's been an excellent caretaker...and loved every moment of it so it seems.

We had an AMX years ago and someone from Australia flew to LA to buy and then shipped it back to Oz. They didn't convert it though.
Its appreciated now!

10 Times the price.
That's _Appreciation_ !
Yes.....like you say!

Not sure we had a "Swap Sheet" around here, although there was the "Recycler".
...that colour was made for a 914...love it...betting IF it were for sale it would be a bit above my pay grade.
Also love that color!
Beautiful condition
Yes, thanks
Beautiful car in actually beautiful color!!!👍👍👍
Couldn't agree more!
Great car and great color! I have a Olympic blue one which is under restoration right now.
Very cool!
Beautiful !
The wooden trim is not original...

nice one for sure! I am on the hunt for a good one.
Good choice!
I have a 71 914 same color with original footrest for passenger
Excellent!
There’s a cover that goes over the brake fluid reservoir that’s missing. Otherwise perfection
Huh, not an argument, I have never seen a cover in the wild - will look
@@caryconrad3298 I only know because mine had one.

My 1975 1.8L is my third one. All original with a bit more miles.
how did he prevent 50 years of chemical degradation the paint normally undergoes?
I know it was always covered and garaged when not in use, and being in a mild So. Cal climate helps too.
its a restoration....thats why...amazed nobody has put this together....we just have to be glad someone has done a great job on it..
@@andyMSH700 It's not a restoration. Watch the video. He says "it's original paint" etc.

Option. I've seen it on 20-30 914's in the USA since my first one in 1985.

Do these have speed?? Like are they known for being fast?
I'd say so... ua-cam.com/video/HKkLsI1kU5o/v-deo.html
Circle Porsche got bought out by Fletcher Jones 😔
In Europe this car brand is VW-Porsche, only the 914-6 is Porsche.
Good trivia!
Nope it’s in my garage.
How about some photos/video and details?

The car was really stunning in person too!
You all keep acting like this is a real Porsche.
It’s cos it is. I’ve been under that car enough times to know it’s a real Porsche.
