I've always loved Slash's playing and signature sound. The more interviews I listen to, I realize he's a great person too. Apocalyptic Love is an incredible album...all those guys should be really proud of the final product.
Slash talks like such a G, the words he uses just shows his intelligence. But what a great interview, loved how he went into the rock n roll being dead situation. Great job! Crazy how old this interview is
Im 16, right at the good point of my life... NO books attract me, in fact I never read one in my whole life.. Book now im reading slashs autobiography.. Along with others here i completely recommend it.. His intelligency and high vocab for some reason got me so hooked to his stories and all. And i also had the same gnr association problem, but i just started to appreciate both and i dont regret.. Cheers!
Damn you studio Q! I'm supposed to be going to going to bed , but here I go on an addiction ravaged search of great interviews from you! You rock, keep the great live performances and awesome interviews coming!
@8:37 That's a damn good quote from slash. This same quote can also be applied to several other industries as well. Real talent is being tossed to the side in exchange for good looks with cookie cutter talent.
Here is what's so weird about what slash is saying I just watched and interview where an r n b artist said the same thing about r n b music being dead ..which it isn't..there is still a hunger for 80.s music R n B and Rock n Roll definitely..which was more real..big ups to slash for holding up the classic Rock flag..despite were the music scene is now..I believe there is a hunger for real music and it will resurface as slash has stated. And he is right ..who dubbed the Rock n Roll hall of fame the qzars of who should be Kings of Rock. Also it was nice to hear Slash be able to talk about where he is now musically instead of always being forced to flash back endlessly to G n R days..
The Slash music is higher than others, better than in the past. There are people that in the time learn to be honest to himself: the guitar and you, are one. A curiosity:the beard of the journalist, it's authentic? Hahahaha!!! I love you, Slash! Where have you buyed this hut? I love it!!!
Pacovl46 myles was actually contacted about auditioning for velvet revolver before they found Scott. Let Zeppelin had flown myles out to England to audition to replace Robert Plante, and slash contacted him but he never showed up.
Easy, just because he's wearing what you're moaning he's wearing, doesn't mean he doesn't deserve the attention, he gets it because of his work :s if you're another moaner go somewhere else if you dont like the video, read his autobiography and study him, do your own homework, and then you'll be 'in the know' kthanks
Haha won't get played on the radio- right now its in second place on I-tunes for best selling album. And You're a Lie is currently #4 on one of my local radio stations
I've never understood how this guy is considered seriously with the hat, hair and glasses continuing into his middle age. He seems like a smart guy but I just don't get the vibe that he deserves being revered as an elder statesman in Rock & Roll. I will say, G&R made some great music and they deserve some accolades. I just don't get why this guy deserves the media attention he gets. Perhaps someone in the know can explain it to me.
I wouldn't call him that. Are you talking about one of the last few rock stars who are still alive today, or the last great rock star from the time they broke out? Either way, I'd say Slash doesn't win that award. For starters, Axl is/was 5× more famous than Slash, and he was in the same band as Slash! If you're talking the last great rock star to emerge into the social consciousness for the first time, Kurt Cobain remains the last truly significant rock star. There's an argument to be had for Marilyn Manson too, I suppose.... but just an argument. If you're talking the biggest prominent rock stars who are simply still alive at this point, Slash doesn't even crack the top 10. Paul McCartney, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Steven Tyler, Robert Plant, Bruce Springsteen, Bono, Elton John, etc. There's just so many surviving rock stars bigger than Slash still around. Even if you wanted to narrow it down to the last wave of rock stars who are still active & working in music today, I can't place Slash no higher than 3rd on the list behind his fellow band mate Axl Rose, and Dave Grohl. Dave Grohl is probably the greatest remaining rock star who's still producing good work who's demand hasn't decreased in any capacity yet. But, again, this is just my opinion on the matter. Still, regardless of who we may disagree over, this was a fun discussion to be had.
@@Britton_Thompson Damn my friend I just read your response and that is all so well said. Anything I could add would only take away from what you wrote. Bravo! I truly can not stand Dave Grohl but I will admit he is talented and a rock star of epic proportions (oops, guess I did add something 😀). And I do not even remember writing my original comment. I was a drugged out alcoholic mess back then. Must have been one of those nights. Going on 7 years clean now. Me finding your response made my day. Many many thanks.
All things considered.. I watch a lot of Slash interviews 😄
That's a very cathartic statement ;)
Me too ✋ lmao 🤣
He says that in every interview, lol
That's what he should have titled his book
@grunge6909 lol that's what I said in my Amazon review! Would love a count of how many times it's said in the book 😄
I've always loved Slash's playing and signature sound. The more interviews I listen to, I realize he's a great person too. Apocalyptic Love is an incredible album...all those guys should be really proud of the final product.
love how he'll let a note hang around and breathe
Excellent interview. Slash is SUCH a classy dude!
slash just a class act
Funny how you say that because his oldest son is in a band called classless Act😂
Slash talks like such a G, the words he uses just shows his intelligence. But what a great interview, loved how he went into the rock n roll being dead situation. Great job! Crazy how old this interview is
His autobiography is great, highly recommend it.
Slash, Flea and Anthony Kiedas all in high school together wow!! I think Steven Adler was there too.
Joshua Lovehall yes, and Lenny kravitz also
Great interview

I love you Slash!
"I'm Jian, George is the other guy." LOL
I think he should get back with Duff and fix Velvet Revolver. Like Scott Weiland or not, that was a good band.
too bad we'll never see it. R.I.P Scott Weiland
Great interview !
"George wants to know" oh dear I feel so embarrassed for Slash...luckily Jian is a cool guy

Saul the man
Cause he's a phenomenal guitar player & there's not a lot of those around & people want to see what he does next
Great interview as always
Slash is all those things and he always will be but it wasnt slash who fucked up gnr, it was axl.
Pacovl46 myles was actually contacted about auditioning for velvet revolver before they found Scott. Let Zeppelin had flown myles out to England to audition to replace Robert Plante, and slash contacted him but he never showed up.
He. Is. SUCH a DUDE
Great work George! :)
Cool interview.
+1 new fan of slash.
Slash gives a great interview. Of course, Jian moderates a great one, too.
"Buenos fucking Aires"
thanks!
@John Stone Spot on comment !
Wow thank god that guy's working as an interviewer. There are so many awful interviewers nowadays.
Brent Fitz and Todd Kerns ftw!

Giant was such a great interviewer so sad he ended up being a creep.
Just a great guy.
he seems to be really into miles' singing, why doesn't he choose him to sing for velvet revolver???
I Win

have never seen Slash with the typical snus-lip
Cool guy, decent guitarist
Ur kidding right
Danyal Ahmed No, I really think he's a cool person. Why not?
I'm talking about the decent guitarist part
I mean all his riffs on GnR songs r incredible. He's not decent,he's one of the best
why would u not listen to his music because of his GNR association???

'Snuss'. Aww, Slash, mate.

So he collaborated with Fergie. Nice flag holding.
💋💋
This radio host has a bigger ego than the rock 'n' roll legend he's speaking to.

May not be the last Rock Star, but he is so damn good! Love me some Slash music! Can listen to him play guitar all the time!!
@@dawnmanuel7372 Agree 100%
