+Anonymous Fox No he wasn't. He had the appearance of a hollow due to being burned up, the same way that Ludleth does, but he wasn't hollow. Lords aren't affected by the undead curse.
+Anonymous Fox The lore of the game..? Plus it would make absolutely no sense for him to be hollow even if they were affected, since he linked the fire long before the undead curse started showing up.
+Anonymous Fox You.. have absolutely no grasp on this series' lore whatsoever. I can't argue with someone this unaware of the topic at hand. I'm black crystaling out of this conversation.
you know what would have been cool? For every new game +, the Soul of Cinder takes another stage of the fight. His first form is the form you see in the original new game. Then when you beat him, he takes the form of whatever build you used in the last new game, then he takes the form of Gwyn in the final form.
Lorian and Lothric aren't cursed because of refusing to link the flame, rather they were cursed because of Royal family's experimentation of Gertrude, daughter of Gwynevere.
After defeating Aldrich, there's an elevator you can take to the balcony, there's an empty bed and in front of it...the ring of the sun princess. This could be the bed that the older sister of Gwyndoline lay on in Dark Souls. Aldrich probably ate her first, then proceeded to eat Gwyndoline.
Amazing. Your voice and way of explaining and editing the video all add up to e an amazing piece of Dark Soul content, that perfectly explains the lore of the Lords of Cinder in a short matter of time. A job very well done!
I really like how easy it was to follow all of the major points of DS3. You didn't get bogged down with too much detail, and you transitioned all of the points really well.
+Xenon I know right!!! dark souls 2 changed the way you look at the story of dark souls alot and gave you a new perspective on it. I just wanted DS2 to play more of a lore act than anything.
Lothric is a lord, so he did link the flame. He shows no intrest in doing so though, which is why I believe Lorian did it for him. Their souls are linked, just like the Abyss Watchers, so technically Lothric also linked it. But Lorian is the one who paid the price. That's why he's all fucked up and hollowed but Lothric is just fine and dandy. Just a theory of course, but if true it would make Lothric one of the biggest scumbags in the series.
Based on what I had found in the game, I think Lothric was born frail and his birth was an experiment by Ocieros, the Consumed King, to conceive the most powerful Lord. He wasn't meant to have a twin, so that was a surprise, and Lorian inherited the best from his parents, being the first of the two born. The reason he's crippled and mute seems to have less to do with linking the flame, and more to do with Lothric's curse. The game heavily implied that Lothric was meant to BECOME a lord of cinder, a title forced upon him and one he didn't care for. His existence and role in the world were predetermined by Ocieros.
+Rogue Pylon But why does the game say he is a Lord of Cinder? Do you not have to actually link the flame to become one? He drops cinders of a lord. The thrones are only for Lords. Just being meant to link the flame doesnt make him a Lord. Lothric would have had to do it, but he clearly stated that he didn't want to, which is why I think Lorian took the burden for his brother.
MrNuclearz That is a good idea, but Lothric is not actually mentioned in the opening cutscene and yes he does have a throne in firelink but I believe that was because he was meant to link the flame so he had one. Also something you may find interesting about Lorians fire attacks is actually as a result of him killing a great demon as it says in his weapons item description. Thank you for watching btw if I hadn't said so already.
+CLFGY. Ah yes, I'm aware Lorian's fire is from battling demons. He looks almost embered though, doesn't he? Probably for the same reason I guess. Loved the video by the way.
I think it's implied that Sulyvahn has been pulling strings the whole time. Hawkwood says Aldrich was "a right and proper cleric", who "developed a habit".... While according to the words of Yorshka, Pontiff is the "self-proclaimed" title of Sulyvahn. The way i see it, Aldrich unknowingly ate human flesh, fed to him by Sulyvahn; eventually developing a taste for it and eating people willingly. Sulyvahn was meanwhile, strutting about his homeland of Irithyll, naming himself Pontiff and having gods imprisoned. He obviously sought control, and would entice Aldrich with a literal meal of the gods. Brainwashed by the unholy taste Sulyvahn forced on him; Aldrich would take down Gwyndolin, and Sulyvahn would forcibly have Aldrich link the fire. That would be the end of the gods, and the end of Aldrich. With the power to send nigh-unkillable, raving-mad outrider knights whereever he wanted, and with no gods or naysayers left, Pontiff Sulyvahn was truly in control. You can more than likely poke plenty of holes in this theory, but I'd like to stick by it... EDIT: another bit of evidence is this: the Aldrich Faithful covenant is given by Archdeacon McDonnell... and guess where he is?.. Dead. in a wet pit with 2 of Sulyvahn's beasts. That says to me that McDonnell followed Aldrich's teachings as a priest, hence the covenant. I think McDonnell saw though Sulyvahn's ruse and threatened to let the Pontiff's secret be known.... so Sulyvahn had (or did it himself, which would explain why the pit is hidden) McDonnell tossed down there to be slaughtered by the beasts.
Perhaps Lord Gwyn WAS the souls of cinder in Dark Souls 1. He was the first and only at the time meaning that only could be a final test. Also, I believe that there are more lords of cinder, considering that the soul of cinder had pretty much every ability(not literally, just based on the stuff he could do). Perhaps it takes its varrying moveset from the player characters of previous souls games ALONG WITH those few who were raised in Lothric, remember that only the four we fought were in range of the bell. At least that's what I think based on how old the world is, their had to be more than 5.
+elitekjms But it is said that time is convoluted and we know there are endless other worlds with endless undead trying to link the fire, I was just giving a theory.
wow what a great video on lore, It makes Siegward so much cooler and the quest makes so much sense now, He is searching for his lost friend Yhorm because he has become Evil and the reason the Storm blade does so much is because it was meant to kill him if he became lost with evil . I hope I heard this right, MORE LORE VIDS!!
I only played DS3 recently and I don't understand how the linking of the flame works. Gwen was alive after linking the fire and the player had to kill him and use his soul to link the fire again, right? Do other lords of cinder had to do the same? Like killing the player to use his his soul as kindling and does it always take 5 lords of cinders to reach the first flame?
Lord Gwyn, First Lord of Cinder Solaire of Astora, Warrior of Sunlight... The Chosen Undead... The Bearer of the Curse... The Undead Legion of Farron, Watchers of the Abyss... Saint Aldrich of the Deep, Devourer of Gods... Yhorm the Giant, Ruler of the Profaned Capital... Ludleth the Exiled of Courland... Holy King Lothric, Younger Prince... Demon Slayer Lorian, Elder Prince...
Thank you very much, I personally don't feel it's quite as good as Vaati or Terramantis, but what you said was very nice to hear. I will cya around then I guess thanks for watching :)
Very well done and put together, I'm finding quality DS3 lore pretty sparse right now, so it's nice to see someone cover something like this that hasn't been done yet. Keep up the good work. As for what next, do some digging on Yorshka and Priscilla, I think there is some pretty interesting lore in their "connection".
Why aren't all of the lords of cinder linked together though? Like there's yhorm and what not who are off doing they're own thing and not a part of the guardian at the first flame
if you look closer that is you from dark souls 1 and the soul of cinder has the elite knight armour too not to mention it is actually you who added gwyn's soul into your body making you larger than before and also getting the move set of gwyn too, and also the fire keeper say's put an end to the gods of lordran and that is properly why you get the soul of the lords and also not to mention but the gods were also referd as lords having the lord souls (great souls) from the first flame
correct me if i'm wrong but if the chosen undead must link the flame then why does gwin protect it with other lords. and how did those lords link the flame?
I appreciate what you're doing, but I recommend altering your tone of storytelling. The low English droning voice has already been done by Vaati and more I'm sure. You don't have to use that tone of voice to make it sound serious or "epic", just try to be original. Thanks for the lore!
+CLFGY No it's not just that it's the way you speak your sentences we can see that's what you're trying to do ;) I don't mind it. Some get really mad about it for some reason :/
So why exactly do the lords of cinder refuse to link the fire? And how do they get there bodies back after linking the fire? I assumed like the chosen undead before, you burst into flames
I'm pretty sure they came back from the dead as they rose from their graves. I think the reason why they don't want to link the flame again is because they don't want to be burnt and feel it is not worth it
I know for a fact that Yorm the Giant doesn't want to link the fire because he linked a similar flame below the Profaned Capital to protect his people and it scorched it and his people burned. He became depressed and never wanted anything to do with linking fires again in case something like this happened again. Everyone who links the first flame is burnt to some extent. The character in Dark Souls 1 was burnt to a crisp, however those who are powerful enough can link the fire without burning to death. So far, only the Abyss Watchers, Yorm the Giant, Aldrich Devourer of Gods, The Twin Princes, Ludleth of Courland and Gywn have linked the fire without dying. That is why they are referred to as Lords of Cinder.
Is the lord of Cinder hollow like Gwyn? Because you as a player, your job (depending of the ending) to recreate the first flame but if this is your goal why fighting with its guardian? Isn't the lord of Cinder capable of recreate the first burst?
maybe its not powerful enough to link the flame? it seems to serve as a guardian to protect the flame from harm but also as a test to see if you're strong enough to link the flame.
I think its interesting that cannibalism is crazy high in Anor Londo. Smough ate his enemies after smashing them with his great club. Aldrich ate a god. Anor Londo, home of the cannibals.
I have a suggestion for your next video. if you look at the nameless Kings set and weapon you'll find that it says he may be the firstborn of Gwen. you should look into this I would like to see your opinion on it
Two things, one could his advisor who told him not to be keathe? And is that a potential DLC boss? Also he learnt his miracles cuts he tortured and Angel to teach him. Plus those winged knights nearby actually sieged the castle to try and free her. U can see her corpse with feathers around 😇😰
That little secret of Courland (didn't even pay attention to that while playing, because well in latvian it's Kurzeme), nice to hear being from Latvia :).
my question is how in the world did Ludleth and Lorthic link the fire? (or just anyone but mainly those two) but to link the fire it needs the lords of cinder as a type of kindle as well with the person that is attempting to link the fire (or that's what DS 3 is saying) but even then the fire is guarded by the soul of cinder so how in the world did Ludleth and Lorthic kill the soul of cinder? Ludleth is tiny and weak and Lorthic is crippled so I think there might be a hole in the logic.
Lorain and lothric become crippled because they ignore their duty as lords, also, ludleth says how he did it, he was like a really good sorcerer or something like that
+Cyrus Butler yes but when you link the flame you NEED lords of cinder as a kindling so how did they all link the flame with lords of cinder? do they have something we don't or did they do something that we didn't or what?
One thing that doesn't make any sense to me... is that what's the point of bringing back the Lord's of Cinders? Wouldn't you need souls or some power source to just bring them back after their sacrifices? Why wouldn't you? You can't just burn something as fuel, take it out and then burn it again for fuel.
Nice video! Subscribing! hope to see more lore videos from you! maybe lower the music so it's easier to hear you in the future. Just a suggestion, subscribing either way
Okay, I have a lore question: why does the Soul of Cinder try so hard to prevent you from linking the flame? I think that he'd be all for more people setting themselves on fire.
I don't think the two "beings" would just simply merge together You have to kill that Soul of Cinder, and link the flame yourself, since you beat the Soul of Cinder you're more powerful than it so you will suffice to keep the fire lit. *Or something like that lmao*
Simple. A true monarch, one who has the right to choose for the world, must be able to surpass his predecessors. In defeating the Soul Of Cinder, you have defeated all your predecessors combined, and thus, have earned the right to decide the fate of the Fire, and the world. Link it. Leave it. Usurp it. The choice is yours.
there's a reason for lothrics miricles the family captured the daughter of gwynevere and tortured her to make Lothric perfect in the end she cursed the two binding them the caracters corpse is found at the top of the archives in a cage
+Hillwood Lam They are not, but they have a throne thats why I decided to talk about them, and the reason they have their own throne is because of the fact that they were meant to link the flame but chose not to. Thanks for watching :)
While I dont agree with some of the points you make about the lore I still gave this video a like cuz its still worth watching (just please make your voice louder) still great video :D
+Johnny “basedRod” BigD Its definitely a test, after all its as the exile says at the start of the game, "A reenactment of the first linking of the flame.' The chosen undead hunted down 4 powerful souls and then faced Lord Gwen at the Kiln. Also what would happen if someone unworthy were to try and link the flame? Their soul would not be enough fuel and the fire would sputter and die from the effort. This is why in the first game there are so many challenges even before you get the lordvessel and prove yourself the chosen undead. Its why we must ring the bells, why we must hunt down the Lords of Cinder and best them in combat. We must prove ourselves not only strong enough, but stronger than anyone who came before us, so that this time the fire my last just a little bit longer.
well technically the younger prince got his power on experimenting on gwyneveres direct decendent gertrude thus explaining why theres anfel feathers all over the throne room.
+Crestfallen otaku Actually, Gertrude is just the maiden of the queen herself. The queen herself, based off item descriptions, is the one directly related to Gwynevere. A lot of people think Rosia and her fingers is a sister to the queen, or the queen herself, because of her ties to Gwynevere's miracles through her soul.
Actually. The heavenly daughter Gertrude only has that title because she was visited by an angel. She's the queen's handmaiden, the queen herself was the direct decendent of Gwynevere. She has no blood relation to the lineage of gods.
Because all the lords of cinder in the game are too strong to have their bodies destroyed, hence all the flame power ups, but they are effectively soul less
Hmmm I don't think Gwyn's soul was too strong to perrish, I think he fused the first flame with his soul so his lord soul would rule over the other three eternally. For Gwyn to have his soul broken from the first flame (ending the cycle), the first flame has to cease to exist. This would mean the other 4 powerful lord souls would have to die also to usher in the second flame.
Just so u know it said that countless undead have linked the flame but the 4 you hunt are the most recent so currently the most powerful cuz they arnt completely burned to ash. They arnt the only ones who linked the flame is all I'm saying
Carnate but did the twin princes link the flame? why are they considered Lord of cinders lothrics sword doesn't even have anything to do with the flame.
video was definitely amazing and i subscribed for more, but a tip would be to not have many voice clips just thrown together in succession,( your voice not character dialogue) some were louder than others and it was rather off putting, other than that though no complaints. :p
+Just a bronze for fun hes an optional boss and assuming you didn't shoot the fake Gwynevere in the tits most unaware players probably would have passed him by.
I liked the video. You did a good job of explaining everything. But toward the end your diction started to get very muddy, I found myself rewinding to catch exactly what you said. Consider redoing bits of audio when all the consonants run together :)
+Carlos Perez I am aware of the issue I have made it a bit better hence why its a bit less noticeable towards the end of the video but I still have not found a way to fix it.
Man In my opinion, the Lord of Cinder fight from DS1 was the best one, it mayve felt anticlimactic but if you pay attention to the lore and know it all, killing Gwyn with such little effort *parries* is just a moment of relaxation as you're eased into the ending by the soundtrack, it almost gives you time to reflect on all that happened during your journey as the chosen undead. And that's what I love about it
The only thing that I don't get is that the main character is a lord of cinder as well. He was ever since the beginning of the game yet ludleth doesnt treat the PC as an equal.
+Moulaye El Hassen (layemou99) go read the wiki. it clearly states he is a lord of cinder which is why he woke up with the tolling of the bell just like the other lords.
demonfireofhell He woke up from the Bell because he is the unkindled one chose to link the flame, that's why everyone calls him that, and him becoming a lord of cinder depends on which ending you pick :)
So... Ludleth accepted his duty as a lord of cindera in the other hand Lothric refused to do, and they are both obviously are sane (not hollow). Yhorm became hollow after linking the fire and awoke as a hollow too. the Watchers are the same as Yhorm but their abyss hating nature still exist. Aldritch had his lust for flesh even before linking the fire and when he awoke he ate the poor Gwyndolin :( So I am not sure if he is hollow or not since he is originally insane lol So my question is why some of them turned into hollow like Gwyn and the others did not...? yeah and thanks for your great vid :)
"But he is now more powerful than ever..."
Yea, cause he can't be parried to death this time lol
+Severo Cairon XD
+Anonymous Fox Gwyn was never hollow, but I know what you mean.
If Fromsoftware ever released a book or two of all dark souls lore, they could be the next Lord of the Rings.
david ortega except every 5 pages we'd get a "YOU DIED" on the page and have to start from page 6
@@KumaoftheForest that would actually be cool like a choose your own adventure book
Nahh
It is the new Lord of the Rings... equivalent in vidya :3
The book would be half written with massive swathes of blank pages, hoping you could use your imagination to make what was written make sense.
you know what would have been cool? For every new game +, the Soul of Cinder takes another stage of the fight. His first form is the form you see in the original new game. Then when you beat him, he takes the form of whatever build you used in the last new game, then he takes the form of Gwyn in the final form.
I wouldn't be able to beat him.
I would have an orgasm every 10 seconds of the fight
+Javi Cornado same...i still get goose bumps during the last fight when the piano tune comes in from dark souls 1
From Lore perpective, impossible. But cool idea.
+Tada Bandri technicaly he can because you become a lord of cinder when you link the first flame
Tada Bandri Maybe not, i mean just look at Masseffect. All it takes is making the boss NPC, slapping the previous gear on, and Blamo.
Dark souls is like a really big game of hot potato.
+TR33S FTW ^^
And you're the potato
Lorian and Lothric aren't cursed because of refusing to link the flame, rather they were cursed because of Royal family's experimentation of Gertrude, daughter of Gwynevere.
It's seems I have quite a bit wring with my twin princes section.
We don't know for sure she is the daughter of gwynevere
is it just me or does dark souls 3 feel more like true sequel to the first one
After defeating Aldrich, there's an elevator you can take to the balcony, there's an empty bed and in front of it...the ring of the sun princess. This could be the bed that the older sister of Gwyndoline lay on in Dark Souls. Aldrich probably ate her first, then proceeded to eat Gwyndoline.
Gwyndoline's sister is Gwynevere
+Thomazinho but wasn't that an illusion made by gwyndolin so I think Aldrich just ate him
That Gwynevere was fake. Gwynevere had left the castle wayy before the chosen undead reached there
"I may look small but I will die a Colossus"
I must be a lord of cinder
Because it burns when i piss
Whoa, Chosen Undead and Gwyn fused? That explains the broken Firelink Set that resembles a bit of Elite Knight Set.
Amazing. Your voice and way of explaining and editing the video all add up to e an amazing piece of Dark Soul content, that perfectly explains the lore of the Lords of Cinder in a short matter of time. A job very well done!
Your voice is fine. Some of these people are just whiners. as usual.
I really like how easy it was to follow all of the major points of DS3. You didn't get bogged down with too much detail, and you transitioned all of the points really well.
+Xenophon122088 Thank you, its great to hear that ^^
so am I the only one who still think dark souls 2 should've played a somewhat bigger role???
+Obtenebrations well damn. i guess I'm the only person that liked dark souls 2 lol. to each its own
+alexis cisneros I liked it as well, kinda dumb, that they just ignore it...
+Xenon I know right!!! dark souls 2 changed the way you look at the story of dark souls alot and gave you a new perspective on it. I just wanted DS2 to play more of a lore act than anything.
it does play a role you link the fire in dark souls 2 through a thrown
+Obtenebrations Actually there are some references to Nashandra... In Ithryll.
I love how no one just casually narrates/talks about lore. it's like always in like some form of serious and sexy accent combo
Epic name bro has pretty straight up lore on his channel
Lothric is a lord, so he did link the flame. He shows no intrest in doing so though, which is why I believe Lorian did it for him. +Sans I will be sure to touch upon that in my Irythyll lore video thanks a lot for that information and watching :)
all I have to say about the final boss of dark souls 3
*THAT FUCKING PIANO*
Found this through your post on Reddit. Greatly enjoyed it, keep up the good work.
+hitokiriizo Thank you :)
Great video. As a new member of this dark souls community, I am very much interested in the lore. I love this game and storyline.
+RickyFairside Glad you enjoyed it, stay tuned for more in the future :)
Very nice video! I liked how you filmed boss fights and cut bits of audio in from around the game. Nice work
+danaconda350 Thank you!

It is never specified how many people have linked the flame. For all we know it could only be the 6.
True Missionary As in the protagonist of dark souls 2? If thats who you mean then yes sitting on the throne of want is a way of linking the flame :)
Artorias cosplayers, Artorias cosplayers everywhere.
+Stello Arts Fuck, man, I know...
+Stello Arts Im definitely not one of them..... ha... nope...... not at all........
Good lord this blew my mind!!!!!! I'm glad someone else thought about that theory!!!!! You're awesome, man!!!
Odd, why did your character collapse upon linking the fire? mine sat down next to it afterwards.
+Sagetheepic It's the Usurpation of Fire ending minus the second half of it.
+Sagetheepic because that is what happends in the usper ending
Dude I hope you grow so much you are really good at making vids
Thank you very much that's great to hear :)
CLFGY no prob bob

Lord Gwyn, First Lord of Cinder
Solaire of Astora, Warrior of Sunlight...
Sehr gut. VERY good production, as good as vaati in that regard, you gotchyerself a new sub, man.
Thank you very much, I personally don't feel it's quite as good as Vaati or Terramantis, but what you said was very nice to hear. I will cya around then I guess thanks for watching :)

Why aren't all of the lords of cinder linked together though? Like there's yhorm and what not who are off doing they're own thing and not a part of the guardian at the first flame
How did you make Aldrich set what did You use ovs you can’t get her outfit
question, so when a lord of cinder sacrifices himself to re-link the fire, do they premaritally die? or die and became a undead/hallow?
if you look closer that is you from dark souls 1 and the soul of cinder has the elite knight armour too not to mention it is actually you who added gwyn's soul into your body making you larger than before and also getting the move set of gwyn too, and also the fire keeper say's put an end to the gods of lordran and that is properly why you get the soul of the lords and also not to mention but the gods were also referd as lords having the lord souls (great souls) from the first flame
+hermit power I can see the similarities in the helmet and armour thanks for pointing that out, and thank you for watching :)
6:06 Is this Yhorm's armor, and if it is, how did you to take it?
It isn't his armour but you can obtain it using cheat engine as his armour is cut content.
+CLFGY ohh, I play on console so cheat engine isn't possible, NV, thanks...
+xScHiF_ well hopefully it will be back in DLC or something because it's a cool looking set.
+CLFGY ikr, and thanks again :)
correct me if i'm wrong but if the chosen undead must link the flame then why does gwin protect it with other lords. and how did those lords link the flame?
The Abyss Watchers' theme is the best one.
I appreciate what you're doing, but I recommend altering your tone of storytelling. The low English droning voice has already been done by Vaati and more I'm sure. You don't have to use that tone of voice to make it sound serious or "epic", just try to be original. Thanks for the lore!
That's actually because of my mic and I recorded a lot of this while I had a throat infection XD but thanks for the suggestion and for watching :)
+CLFGY No it's not just that it's the way you speak your sentences we can see that's what you're trying to do ;) I don't mind it. Some get really mad about it for some reason :/
Don't heed these fools, they won't be satisfied even if Senator Palpatine tried.
It was good
Nice video! Love how you touched on the twin princes since a lot of people skip it. :D
Ludlith is my favorite NPC in this game.
+Dingy Dan Explained perfectly :)
This was very well done. Nice job man!
I must be a Lord of Cinder…because it burns when I piss
(Insert the iconic npc laughter)
I think its interesting that cannibalism is crazy high in Anor Londo. Smough ate his enemies after smashing them with his great club. Aldrich ate a god. Anor Londo, home of the cannibals.
There is something that bothers me you how those 4 linked the flame did they have to fight something like the Soul of Cinder
+Lonefalloutwolf Vlogs & Gaming I imagine they did, it wouldn't make much sense otherwise, thanks for watching :)
Good job on this video!
It is very very well made! ^^
The only thing that is lacking is the microphone quality but even that is still okay.
+MischievousImp I will be purchasing a new mic within the next two months :) and thank you for watching!
+CLFGY You are welcome! :) Hope you will do more of these! ^^
MischievousImp I certainly will, I hope to see you around :)
What armor did you wear for the Aldrich cosplay
I believe it was the Abyss watcher armour or lorians armour Aswell as Lorians crown
The body is the Black Hand armour. The hands aren't in view so I don't know. The legs are Lorian's as is the head.
keep up the lore. I love these kinds of vids.
+Holden Gladden Thank you! ^^
+CLFGY no dude. I enjoy good lore vids.
I have a suggestion for your next video. if you look at the nameless Kings set and weapon you'll find that it says he may be the firstborn of Gwen. you should look into this I would like to see your opinion on it
+ad campbell I am aware of that ^^ and the nameless king is next on my list after the Irythyll Inhabitants :)
I have a question... What happens to all the souls you claim along your way when you link the fire?
what set are you wearing at 5:56? chest piece and the leggings look great
It's the firelink set :)
And the trousers are gundyrs
+CLFGY omg now I see. i forgot it looked like that
+CLFGY yeah I was thinking they are because they show some skin on the back
Two things, one could his advisor who told him not to be keathe? And is that a potential DLC boss? Also he learnt his miracles cuts he tortured and Angel to teach him. Plus those winged knights nearby actually sieged the castle to try and free her. U can see her corpse with feathers around 😇😰
song at the end please
Fear the piggyback of death
+Blaster of Gasters, Defender of The Shitposter XD
That little secret of Courland (didn't even pay attention to that while playing, because well in latvian it's Kurzeme), nice to hear being from Latvia :).
;) thanks for watching!
How do they become lord of cinders? Just by beating the soul of cinders? How come Aldrich only ate people to become one?
Yhorm looks like he has a human face, which is weird because Giants usually just have holes for faces
my question is how in the world did Ludleth and Lorthic link the fire? (or just anyone but mainly those two) but to link the fire it needs the lords of cinder as a type of kindle as well with the person that is attempting to link the fire (or that's what DS 3 is saying) but even then the fire is guarded by the soul of cinder so how in the world did Ludleth and Lorthic kill the soul of cinder? Ludleth is tiny and weak and Lorthic is crippled so I think there might be a hole in the logic.
Lorain and lothric become crippled because they ignore their duty as lords, also, ludleth says how he did it, he was like a really good sorcerer or something like that
Lothric never linked the flame but he was bred for it. He is destined it. It is his fate and his curse.
+Cyrus Butler yes but when you link the flame you NEED lords of cinder as a kindling so how did they all link the flame with lords of cinder? do they have something we don't or did they do something that we didn't or what?
+GBishop17 without lords of cinder
+GBishop17 not always. you need their fire because the first flame is so weak
I am impresed that you know that Kourland is a province in Latvia
Nice video! Subscribing! hope to see more lore videos from you! maybe lower the music so it's easier to hear you in the future. Just a suggestion, subscribing either way
+izzeypally Thank you and yes I am aware of the music being a bit to loud and I have plans to do a lore video on Irythyll and its inhabitants :)
Yhorm is a Legend, always.
Okay, I have a lore question: why does the Soul of Cinder try so hard to prevent you from linking the flame? I think that he'd be all for more people setting themselves on fire.
I don't think the two "beings" would just simply merge together
You have to kill that Soul of Cinder, and link the flame yourself, since you beat the Soul of Cinder you're more powerful than it so you will suffice to keep the fire lit.
Link it. Leave it. Usurp it. The choice is yours.
whats the name of the music in the end of the video ?
+s1986maxx9 Depending on which part you mean its either the Soul of Cinder (DS3) or Nameless song (DS1)
+CLFGY its after the nameless song it start at 11:27 it have lyrics
s1986maxx9 Oh Enya only time ^^
+CLFGY thanks alot mate
anyone know the armor he's wearing at 4:24
+TheInfernalDuelist Black Hand armour, Lorian headpiece and I dont remember about the gauntlets and trousers.
Where did you find the art for the thumbnail
5:29 what song is that
Anna Aldrin nameless song from dark souls 1
Why isn't ludleth in the thimbnail? he´s a lord of cinder too
Where is the intro music from?
there's a reason for lothrics miricles the family captured the daughter of gwynevere and tortured her to make Lothric perfect in the end she cursed the two binding them the caracters corpse is found at the top of the archives in a cage
uhm if the twins refused to link the flame, how come they're considered Lords of cinder....?
+Hillwood Lam They are not, but they have a throne thats why I decided to talk about them, and the reason they have their own throne is because of the fact that they were meant to link the flame but chose not to. Thanks for watching :)
+Hillwood Lam Well thats what I believe anyway
While I dont agree with some of the points you make about the lore I still gave this video a like cuz its still worth watching (just please make your voice louder) still great video :D
+TheKingofKats Dont worry I will be doing that for sure in my next lore video thank you for watching :)
Why is the Soul of Cinders hostile? Wouldn't he want/let the Unkindled to link the fire?
+Johnny “basedRod” BigD I believe its probably like final test to make sure they are worthy or its because it doesn't know what else to do :)
That makes sense.
well technically the younger prince got his power on experimenting on gwyneveres direct decendent gertrude thus explaining why theres anfel feathers all over the throne room.
angel*
+Crestfallen otaku Ah ok thanks :)
+Mati Mura well even the dancer and the pointiff are related to gwenevere im just waiting for dlc to put this to rest lol
Actually. The heavenly daughter Gertrude only has that title because she was visited by an angel. She's the queen's handmaiden, the queen herself was the direct decendent of Gwynevere. She has no blood relation to the lineage of gods.
If the Lords of Cinder linked the fire, then why are they in their boss rooms instead of being part of the Soul of Cinder?
Because all the lords of cinder in the game are too strong to have their bodies destroyed, hence all the flame power ups, but they are effectively soul less
That's what I believe anyway
so the last boss was you from the first dark souls game or what .-.(im really confused)
+slightlytwistedagain A good Idea indeed :)
Outro song: "Only Time" by Enya
Thank you. I don't even like the song I just recognized it and haven't heard it in years so I want to listen to the full thing
Just so u know it said that countless undead have linked the flame but the 4 you hunt are the most recent so currently the most powerful cuz they arnt completely burned to ash. They arnt the only ones who linked the flame is all I'm saying
+Elijah Burnett Yeah thats what the description of the Soul of the lords says :)
brings a tear to my eye so motivating
so do you think its canon that the chosen undead didn't kill Gwyndolin in the first game?
+Just a bronze for fun hes an optional boss and assuming you didn't shoot the fake Gwynevere in the tits most unaware players probably would have passed him by.
+PhantomPh1re perhaps he was an illusion in the first game?you never know
It's cannon in the games that you didn't kill any of the optional bosses.
+Garett Crook Somebody would have killed that calamitous dragon eventually.
Why the music is slowing ?
I liked the video. You did a good job of explaining everything. But toward the end your diction started to get very muddy, I found myself rewinding to catch exactly what you said. Consider redoing bits of audio when all the consonants run together :)
OK one question, WHY THE HELL WONT LOTHRIC STAND!?!?!
And WHy Wont Lorian STand AS well
because hes a fucking cripple and mute
Cool vid but fix your mic, there's some white noise like feedback when you speak into it.
+Carlos Perez I am aware of the issue I have made it a bit better hence why its a bit less noticeable towards the end of the video but I still have not found a way to fix it.
Perez dad dad it's me your son
Why slow down the Soul of Cinder theme?
I guess they wanted you to focus more on the lightning bolts raining upon you lol
Man
In my opinion, the Lord of Cinder fight from DS1 was the best one, it mayve felt anticlimactic but if you pay attention to the lore and know it all, killing Gwyn with such little effort *parries* is just a moment of relaxation as you're eased into the ending by the soundtrack, it almost gives you time to reflect on all that happened during your journey as the chosen undead.
And that's what I love about it
Great video! Loved it man
the twin princes were the only main boss in dark souls 3 that i took down first try.
the curse-rotted greatwood, stray demon, Deacons of the Deep, Vordt of the Boreal Valley, Yhorm
Ya know what the flame really is? Greed...
I thought Lorian was crippled from his fight with a chaos demon?
I'm fairly sure it was because of the curse, that's what I remember reading in game but I may be wrong :)
+CLFGY I could be wrong too, I'm not sure
+Jacob Flynn The demon cursed his blade to burn
The only thing that I don't get is that the main character is a lord of cinder as well. He was ever since the beginning of the game yet ludleth doesnt treat the PC as an equal.
Our character isn't a lord of cinder.
+demonfireofhell they are a lord of cinder if they link the flame, thanks for watching :)
+Moulaye El Hassen (layemou99) go read the wiki. it clearly states he is a lord of cinder which is why he woke up with the tolling of the bell just like the other lords.
+CLFGY not sure what you mean? he did link the flame.
demonfireofhell He woke up from the Bell because he is the unkindled one chose to link the flame, that's why everyone calls him that, and him becoming a lord of cinder depends on which ending you pick :)
it says Gwyndolin was "devoured" past tense
+Jausch120 Derp, my bad
+CLFGY no harm done
+Jausch120 but he was devoured?
+xero spacious Possibly Aldrich may of been devouring him when we enter I think thats what he meant by that :)
+CLFGY wouldn't it have said "devours" in that case as it's happening
Hey, great video man. Thanks for making it.
I don't understand..... If Lorain never became a lord, why is he labeled as one?
Ledleth is a lord of cinder too right?
Yep
Aldritch had his lust for flesh even before linking the fire and when he awoke he ate the poor Gwyndolin :(
So I am not sure if he is hollow or not since he is originally insane lol
So my question is why some of them turned into hollow like Gwyn and the others did not...?
yeah and thanks for your great vid :)
Lorian, my son name is named Lorian i think it sounds the same (LORE-Re-In)
+Tarzan Ah thanks for letting me know :)
